You're My Only Star

Chapter 323 - The Wrong Room

The birthday party ended in the evening and the guests finally left.

Song Xing Xing accompanied her mother to send her youngest aunt out before she went back into the house to look for Lu Xun. After looking around for a while, she finally found her fiance in the TV room with her brother. The two of them were competing in a shooting game and it seemed that Song Wei was bullying her fiance.

In less than a minute, the words, 'Game Over' was written on Lu Xun's part of the screen.

Song Wei raised both hands as he was celebrating happily while Lu Xun stared back at the screen with a blank look on his face.

It could be seen that Lu Xun did not mind losing a few rounds to Song Wei but as Lu Xun's fiance, Song Xing Xing could not bear to watch her brother bullying her beloved.

Song Xing Xing walked into the room and flashed a smile at Lu Xun. She stretched her hand at him and gestured at the controller in his hand. "Give it to me."

Lu Xun followed her eyes and once he understood what he was going to do, he passed the controller to her and smiled.

Song Xing Xing crossed her arms and turned to her brother. "Song Wei, let's go for another round."

It was at this time that Song Wei realized that his sister had appeared. The smile on his face gradually disappeared upon meeting his sister's gaze.

Song Wei had this feeling that his sister was going to take revenge and he will have to bear the consequences.

"Sister, it's late and I'm tired." Song Wei put the controller down and faked a yawn. "Let's do this another time."

"No. Let's do this once. Just one round."

Song Wei could not help but swallow upon seeing the sweet smile on his sister's face. Why did he feel as if he had encountered a devil?

"It couldn't be that you are scared, right?"

Song Wei could not take her sister's taunting and quickly agreed.

The game started and the siblings began to fight each other. Song Wei continued to shout and curse as his sister chased him mercilessly. In the end, he was shot and died.

Song Wei stared at the words 'Game Over' with his mouth gaped open. He did not expect that he would get beaten up this quick. Moreover, he was disappointed that he still could not beat his sister in this game.

"One more round?" Song Xing Xing tilted her head to one side. Her lips curled into a lazy smile.

There was a trace of panic in his eyes. "No. Sister, I give up. It's my fault,"

"Really? What did you do wrong?"

Song Wei's eyes darted around the room as he tried to find a way to escape. His eyes lit up when he saw Lu Xun. "I shouldn't have asked brother-in-law to play the game with me and bullied him. Sister, I promise that I would not do this anymore."

Song Xing Xing snorted and was ready to speak a few words at him. However, her movement halted when Lu Xun grabbed her wrist. Song Xing Xing turned to Lu Xun and saw him shake his head at her slowly.

Someone was happy to be called brother-in-law and was ready to pretend that he was not bullied.

A sigh escaped her. Song Xing Xing watched as her brother scurried away and clicked her tongue.

The moment Song Wei escaped the room and closed the door behind him, Lu Xun tugged at Song Xing Xing's hand, pulling her into his arms.

"I thought that you would only be good in 'Legend of the Sky'."

Song Xing Xing laughed. "In the past, Song Wei always pestered me to accompany him to play all sort of games with him. Although Song Wei is good at shooting games, I'm slightly better than him. I think he was still unhappy that he never wins against me." She wrapped her arms around his neck and peck at his lips. "Next time, don't agree if Song Wei asked you to play a shooting game. I'm worried that he would bully you to get back at me."

Lu Xun let out a chuckle. "It's fine. I don't really mind."

Song Xing Xing tilted her head at her and looked into his eyes. "I minded. I won't let anyone bully you easily."

A light flashed in his eyes. Lu Xun thought that the feeling of being protected by Song Xing Xing felt rather nice.

Song Xing Xing grabbed the controllers and passed one to Lu Xun. "Let me teach you a few moves. Next time, my brother would not bully you easily."

The couple continued to stay in each other's arms for a long time to play games and only returned to their room when it was getting late.

Song Xing Xing took a quick shower and lay on her bed. After playing with the kids the whole day and chatting with her mother's friends and relatives, she was really tired and could not move a muscle.

Her phone on the table lit up. Song Xing Xing reached for her phone and saw that Huo Yun Chen had just replied to her texts.

'Little Star, thank you for your concern. I'm fine now.'

Huo Yun Chen told her briefly about his situation and assured her that he was going to be alright after resting for a few days.

Song Xing Xing reminded him to look after himself and to recover quickly. Huo Yun Chen had worked so hard to recover from his last injury. If something happened to his legs again, he would be devastated.

The two of them exchanged a few more words before they stopped.

Back in Capital City, Huo Yun Chen stared at their text exchange with a faint smile on his face. His friend, Little Star, had never stop from giving him encouragement whenever he needed it. This girl has been one of the reasons he wanted to work hard and get back on the stage after his accident a few years ago.

Unfortunately for him, they were not meant to be together.

At this time, someone knocked on his door.

Huo Yun Chen lowered his phone and watched as a nurse walked into his room.

The moment their gazes met, the nurse looked back at him in surprise.

"Huo Yun Chen?" The nurse lowered her head to look at the files in her hand. A strange look flickered in her eyes as she saw his name. "I'm sorry. I went to the wrong room." The nurse retreated and ran away from the scene as if she had seen a ghost.

Huo Yun Chen watched this scene and thought that the nurse's action was rather strange.. However, he decided not to think too much about it.
