Chapter 189 - COLD-BLOODED MURDERER

Chapter 189 – COLD-BLOODED MURDERER

"So, can you explain it, Vero?" Albert looked back at Veronica.

His gaze was full of inquiry, even he seemed reluctant to take his eyes off his wife, even if only for a moment.

"Tell me, Vero! Why did you do that? You should know how to account for what you did to Ellena!" said Albert while Veronica was still speechless.

Only the sound of her breathing seemed to be a little rushed, as if holding back anger at what Lucas had said to her.

How could Lucas say such hurtful words to her? Even though what she had been doing all this time was for Lucas' good. However, what kind of reply did she get from Lucas? Instead, she only received insults from her own son.

Veronica was still dumbfounded and couldn't say anything. Her mouth felt numb, while her heart felt like it was being stabbed. Lucas' words hurt her too much. How could her heart be okay, when her son actually said such low things to her.

Lucas smiled bitterly as he glared at Veronica's face. "You can't explain anything, Mommy?"

"As I thought. You must have wanted to—"

"Stop it, Lucas! It's not what you think!" Veronica concluded, not accepting her son's accusation.

"You too!" Veronica looked furiously at Albert, showing a disapproving expression. Only this time she dared to yell at her husband.

"You dare yell at me?" Albert rolled his eyes.

"You shouldn't blame me, Albert! You should have defended me, because whatever I did was for the good of our son. You should have known that!" Veronica said as she repeatedly pointed at her husband.

"Give me a reason why I have to defend you, you haven't even answered my question until now. Prove that you're innocent. Don't be silent!" Albert replied emphatically.

"I never thought that you could do something evil like this, Mommy. Even to your own son. It turns out that you are just as cold-blooded as a murderer."

"Stop! Stop it, Lucas! I'm not as bad as you think!" Veronica shouted again refuting Lucas' words. "I told you I did it out of your kindness!"

"In fact I'm devastated without Ellena. Is that what kindness means. You're just killing me slowly. You know what? I can't live without Ellena!" Lucas said not wanting to lose and didn't want to believe Veronica's words one bit.

"Do I need to prove that the woman is not good for you? Should I show all the evidence about her bad?" Veronica asked confidently, as if confident that the evidence she had would be able to save her from being attacked by her son and husband at the same time.

"Show me all the evidence, if it's true!"

"Okay, you wait here!"

Veronica immediately left in front of Lucas and Albert at that very moment. Intending to take all the evidence she had about Ellena.

"Arrrgh!" Lucas groaned in frustration as he ruffled his hair roughly.

How could he easily control the feelings of anger and fear that came at the same time. Afraid. Yes, he was afraid that what his mother said turned out to be true. Moreover, Veronica is very sure of her words.

Of course, Lucas was worried. He really wasn't ready to know something bad about Ellena.

"Be patient, Lucas. Calm your mind first. Your mother's words are not entirely correct, maybe she just misunderstood." Albert said trying to calm down, as if he knew what Lucas was thinking at this moment.

"Look at this!"

Before Lucas had time to respond to Albert's words, suddenly Veronica came with a very loud voice while her hand raised a brown envelope in the air and it was believed that it was the evidence Veronica meant.

"You see this! I'm not sure you're going to defend that woman after seeing all the evidence in it!" Veronica handed the envelope to Lucas with a very Confident expression on her face.

Quickly Lucas reached and opened the envelope without waiting for another command. Instantly he was wide-eyed when he found photos of Ellena sleeping with Keenan.

There are several photos in his hand. Lucas opened the photos one by one with a slightly dumbfounded expression. Finally he looked at one of the photos for a while.

After that, Lucas focused his gaze on Veronica again. Aiming sharply at the two hazel beads that radiated one meter in front of him.

"Are you sure that the person in this photo is my wife?" Lucas asked, holding up the photos in the air.

Meanwhile, Albert only observed the photo from a distance. He also chose to remain silent and refused to comment, before Veronica gave an explanation of Lucas' question.

"What do you mean, Lucas? Isn't it obvious that the person in the photo is Ellena?" Veronica replied looking confused by Lucas' question.

"Are you sure, Mommy? Have you ever checked the authenticity of these photos?" Lucas glared at Veronica. Instantly his jaw tightened even more, as if his anger was mounting.

"W-what do you mean? How could it be fake. It's obviously a photo of Ellena!"

"But it's actually fake, Mommy! Aaarrgh!" Again Lucas groaned in frustration when he found out that the photo was indeed a fabrication.

Yes, Lucas could clearly see that the photos were indeed fabricated. Even though he's not a telematics expert, he can tell the difference between a real photo and an edited photo.

Instantly the photos flew from Lucas' hands, scattered freely into the air and fell one by one to the floor.

How could Veronica just believe in these photos and have to sacrifice Ellena, a woman who means a lot to her son.

"Lucas, what do you mean? How is it possible that the photos are fake?" Veronica asked still not believing what Lucas had just said.

"Even I know the man in the photo!" Lucas shouted.

Seeing Lucas' anger rising, Albert didn't say much. However, he only picked up one photo that had fallen in front of him.

He studied the photo carefully, without looking the least bit surprised. He still looked calm and didn't panic too much. Instantly his gaze lifted, scrutinizing the face of his wife who looked confused.

"Vero, why are you so careless?" asked Albert flatly.

"W-what do you mean, Albert?" Veronica was again dumbfounded. She still didn't understand what Lucas and Albert were saying that they believed the photos were fake, while she firmly believed that all the photos were real.

"Can't you tell the difference between a real photo and a fake one?" asked Albert flatly.

Without answering Albert's question, Veronica immediately grabbed a photo that had fallen not far from her. She studied the photo carefully. However, she still can't compare the real and fake photos. In her eyes the photo was the same as the other photos. There is not the slightest oddity.

"Albert, Lucas, what's wrong with me. I think this is a photo of Ellena. How could I be wrong?" asked Veronica putting on a surprised expression.

"No, Vero. You're wrong. This photo is indeed a fake, but for more details, it's better if we check it directly with an expert." Albert suggested.

"No! I will not forgive Selena if it turns out that the photo is proven to be fake!" Veronica said as she shook her head with a blank stare that was directed in any direction.

"I'm sure it's a fake." Lucas whispered with a very frustrated expression.

Lucas didn't know what to do. Disappointed. Of course he was very disappointed in his mother who was very careless. However, what power. Everything has happened and can not be prevented.

"Lucas, I'm sorry. I really didn't know that the photos were fake." Veronica hissed as she looked at her son full of regret.

"Why do you have to meet with Selena again. Do you still not believe that this woman is not a good woman?" Lucas said clearly blaming Veronica.

If only his mother had never seen Selena again, perhaps this kind of event would never have happened. Selena's presence in his life only brings chaos and misfortune.

"I don't know, Lucas. Selena suddenly went to me and gave me the photos." Veronica explained, looking nervous.

"Tell me, where is Ellena now!" Lucas immediately grabbed the base of Veronica's arm and looked questioningly at the middle-aged woman.

"I-I don't know, Lucas." Veronica replied nervously. "After Ellena left the house, we never saw each other or kept in touch long distance." She added later.

"Messed up! It's all messed up because of you, Mom!" squealed Lucas.

"Lucas, sorry. I didn't mean it that way."

"Then what should I do to find Ellena and her mother? I don't even know their condition now!" Lucas shouted at Veronica.

"Lucas, you have to be patient. We'll find Ellena as soon as possible. Daddy's sure we'll find her," said Albert trying to calm him down.

"I'm disappointed in Mommy!" said Lucas again, grinning. He then picked up the photos again, intending to check the validity of the photos, although he felt sure that they were fabricated photos.

"I won't forgive you, Mom,

if anything happens to Ellena!" Lucas said firmly as he glared at Veronica's face for a moment before she left the place.

"Lucas, wait! Listen to Mommy first!" Veronica shouted. However, Lucas didn't care. He walked hastily out of the house, closing the door firmly in just one pull, creating a shrill sound that instantly went up in the air.

Veronica ran outside, trying to catch up to Lucas. Too bad Lucas got into the car first, however, sped the car as fast as lightning while his mind was racing.

"Lucas, Wait!" Veronica shouted in vain.

Meanwhile, Lucas seemed to focus on driving the car at high speed. His breath was still ragged, his gaze fixed on the street with his jaw still clenched as before, a sign that until this moment he still couldn't suppress his emotions.

Yes of course. How could he look normal, when the reality he had just found out in fact disappointed him so deeply.

"Arrgh!"

Lucas groaned, venting a suffocating emotion. Instantly a strong blow flew on the steering wheel, making his hands feel a little sore.. However, it had no effect on him at all.
