Wedding Agreement With CEO

Chapter 170 - CEO'S SECRETARY

"Adley, can you come over to my house right now?" Lucas asked Adley over the phone.

I don't know what the need was that he asked Adley to come to his house, it seemed there was something important.

"What's wrong, Lucas? I'm still at the office," replied adley on the other end.

Given that the company's leaders still can't come in to work, Adley's job is doubled, because he has to handle some of the work that should be the job of the company leader. Not even once had he replaced Lucas to meet an important business client.

Indeed, it was not the first time he had participated in a meeting with a new client, which was why Lucas had entrusted the company to him. In addition to being reliable Adley, he can also be trusted in handling the company.

"Are you still busy?" Lucas asked to make sure.

"I still have some unfinished work. Will you allow me to skip today?" Adley asked as if he wanted to take this opportunity on purpose.

"Ah, you're always looking for opportunities." Lucas grumbled with an annoyed sigh.

"Didn't you ask me to come see you?" Adley replied reassuringly. "If that's true, I'm very willing." He added, of course he was pleased when he received such an order from his boss, as well as his best friend. Yes, at least he can avoid his work in the office.

"Yes, come here and bring the documents that I have to sign!" Lucas asked to which Lucas immediately responded positively.

"Oh, thank you, Lucas . . . you've given me a chance to relax." Adley replied enthusiastically. It was clear he was happy to get permission to skip school from his boss.

"Oh yeah, there's also something important I want to talk to you about," added Adley, who suddenly managed to make Lucas dig his eyebrows, as if curious.

"What important thing do you want to talk to me about?" Lucas asked curiously.

"About Michelle." Adley replied.

"Okay. Let's go now!" Lucas asked firmly.

Lucas ended the call. He seemed to put his cellphone on the guest table, then sat on the sofa while crossing his right leg over his left.

He reached for a daily newspaper that was kept on the table, just to fill his boredom while waiting for Adley's arrival.

"Patricia, have you prepared the files for meeting tomorrow?" Richard asked when Ellena had just handed him the financial statements he had requested.

The events of two days ago made her really have to accept punishment from her superiors. Agree or not, she still had to be Richard's secretary. It's been two days since her status changed to CEO's secretary, after just a few days serving as head of accounting.

She didn't think that such a trivial matter could threaten her job. Although the salary as a secretary is no less big, she still doesn't want to work as that. It wasn't a material problem, but because of that it would be harder and harder to avoid Richard.

"Yes, Sir," replied Elena, nodding. "Miss Celine prepared beforehand and gave the file to me." She added later.

Celine was Richard's previous secretary. Because Ellena replaced her duties as secretary to the CEO, she was transferred to the personnel department, as secretary to the head of personnel who had not had a secretary for a week.

Maybe Celine was annoyed by that. However, no matter what, she is only an employee at the company and can only follow orders from her superiors if she wants her job to be safe, just like Ellena.

"Okay, thanks." Richard replied with his eyes focused on the document in his hand. He seemed to open the document sheet while observing carefully.

"Is this report you made, Patricia?" Richard asked, glancing slightly at Ellena, who was sitting in front of him, despite being blocked by the desk.

"Y-yes, Sir. Didn't you check yesterday?" replied Ellena a little surprised.

The document in Richard's hands was indeed the last financial report she had worked on while still serving as head of accounting.

Somehow Richard suddenly asked for the report again, even though the man had already checked the report. She thought there was no problem with the report at all, but why was she now re-checking Ellena's report, as if something was wrong.

"Is there something wrong with the report?" Ellena asked a little stunned looking at Richard who was seriously examining each document in his hand.

"It turns out that you are very talented. Your work is very satisfying. I didn't misjudge you. In fact, you exceeded my expectations." Richard smiled proudly at his ability to judge people.

Ellena seemed to breathe a sigh of relief with her right hand rubbing her chest which had been pounding hard earlier. How not, the report has been examined but only commented by Richard. The woman must have thought that there was something wrong with the report she had designed in such a way.

"Don't be so tense, Patricia. Or maybe you're nervous because you're around me?" Richard asked with a charming smile. Really, if only it was another woman and still single, of course she would fall in love with him instantly.

Ellena rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Sorry, Mr Richard we are still in the office."

"I know." Richard answered quickly.

"Ah, I was just reminding you. Perhaps you forgot that we are co-workers and you're my boss!" Ellena hissed emphasizing the end of her sentence.

"Ehm, how about my schedule for today?"

Richard tried to divert the conversation. He was always annoyed when he remembered it. Somehow the wall built by his new secretary was very high. Sometimes they get to know each other, then a few seconds later she'll be cold again. Even though Richard had shown his interest, it was as if Ellena had closed her eyes to her heart.

"Today you are free. Except tomorrow, the meeting schedule will be very busy. So make the most of your time, Sir."

Richard noticed Ellena who still looked busy in front of the computer screen. Either she was busy doing her job or it was just an excuse so Richard wouldn't bother her.

The man glanced at the expensive watch that was faithfully wrapped around his wrist. An idea as a way of approach crossed his mind, though a second later it was smashed to pieces by Ellena.

"You can relax for a moment before facing an important meeting tomorrow, Sir. However, in advance I apologize, because I will not be able to accompany you. Of course the reason is because I have to complete all the files and materials for a meeting with an important client tomorrow," said Ellena at length while pressing the keyboard keys in front of her. "So, have fun, Sir." She added then before returning to busy with her activities.

The smile that had been faithful on Richard's face disappeared in an instant. His recent pleasure was being with the secretary. Wherever and whatever they were doing, just being together was enough for him.

'Not that easy, Ferguso.' Ellena thought laughing. Looks like the move she chose is very powerful.

Richard walked unsteadily into his room. Choose to spend time at the office instead of relaxing outside. According to him, things would not be fun without Ellena's presence. The woman who had recently filled his mind. In fact, when he closed his eyes his secretary appeared in his dream. Really did not give Richard a chance to muffle his feelings properly.

Ellena stopped her fingers dancing on the keyboard. Slightly glanced towards her superior's room to make sure if the boss had really entered the room.

'I'm sorry, Sir, but we must stay in our respective territories, without trying to cross the line." The woman muttered to herself.

She hopes that the boss will meet and start a relationship with the best woman. Without expecting anything special from her, she was just a wife who ran away from her husband.

Ah, whatever she thinks somehow always boils down to that guy. Lucas' smile and warm hug are always something she misses the most. Although not infrequently the woman gets it through dreams. However, of course it will not be the same.

Ellena supported her chin with her right hand. One hand is busy playing a ballpoint pen. Her memories returned to the past. When nothing stops her from getting love from Lucas and nothing prevents her from giving any love to that man.

Remember that woman once questioned herself. About can she live his life so happily; about Lucas showering her with care and happiness; and about her happiness that may have been at the peak. However, what was feared actually happened. Now Ellena has to spend the day alone in a completely foreign place with new people.

Can't imagine how much Ellena dreams of hugging her husband again. Back to taste the happiness that had slipped from her grip. However, in fact it was all just a flower bed. Although still deep in her heart, she always hopes that all those dreams will come true.

"What is she doing? Why does she look like she's daydreaming? What is she thinking?" Richard muttered to himself as he watched the woman from behind the curtain.

Immediately he ordered some food to the office boy over the phone line after sitting back down in his oversized chair. Maybe the food could cheer up Ellena, who was always daydreaming when she was alone.

The ringing of the phone in front of her interrupted Ellena's thoughts. In fact, it almost made her fall. Luckily no one saw it. If not, of course she would feel very embarrassed.

"Yes, Sir-"

"Can you make five copies of the files for meeting tomorrow? When you're done bring them to my room." Richard ordered without giving Ellena a chance to speak.

"But–" Before Ellena could speak, the boss had hung up. "It's up to you, Sir. The orders of the superiors are absolute for the subordinates." She grumbled with pursed lips.

None of this went unnoticed by Richard. He just found out that Ellena has such an adorable side.

Ellena stepped into Richard's room after knocking on the door. In her hand was a copy of the file the man had asked for. Rows of several kinds of food neatly arranged on the guest table managed to steal Ellena's attention. Unconsciously she stared at the dish.

"Put down the file and eat with me. I'm not asking, I'm giving orders. I suppose you know that my orders are imperative?" The man said expressionlessly.

'Up to you , Sir,' answered Ellena. However, in my heart of course. She wouldn't have the guts to answer like that.. She still needed the job, even though it was the male secretary she avoided the most.
