Chapter 169 - I MISS LUCAS

"Ellena?"

Lucas lifted himself from the bed, as the name Ellena flashed through his mind. Yes, most likely the caller was Ellena.

He quickly grabbed his phone back, checked the call history a few minutes ago, but to no avail. There was nothing he could find there, including contact numbers.

Lucas switched to Ellena's previous contact number. He also called the two contact numbers one by one. However, the result is still nil. The contact number is no longer active.

"Oh my God, Elle . . . I'm sorry. Come on, call me again now." He said as if he was sure that the caller was indeed Ellena.

He waited for a while, but in fact the caller never contacted him again. Sorry. He shouldn't have just hung up the phone.

He also didn't know why he suddenly felt sure that the caller was Ellena, who might be missing him or wanting to know his current condition. Yes, he was sure of it.

Stupid! how could he do such a stupid thing? He wanted to slam the phone in his hand with all his might, but he was still sane enough to do something that was clearly useless.

Before Luca finished his daydream, suddenly a knock on the door echoed and distracted him.

"Who?" Lucas shouted in confirmation.

"Me, Sir." answered someone out there who was already certain who the voice belonged to. Yes, Joana.

"Enter!" Lucas asked.

Within seconds, the door slowly opened. Suddenly Joana appeared from behind the door. She stood in the doorway, then bowed slightly, as a sign of respect for her master.

"Sir, there's a guest looking for you out front." Joana announced.

"Who?" Lucas arched an eyebrow, surprised.

"I don't know exactly, Sir, but one of them is a female guest. If I'm not mistaken, she's a friend of Miss Ellena, who came here a few months ago," answered Joana, suddenly making Lucas stunned for a moment.

'Filia?' Lucas muttered to himself.

Yes, only Filia he was sure was wanting to see him right now. Ah, why did he just remember that woman? Why didn't he ask Filia about Ellena's whereabouts from the start? Maybe the woman knows.

"Tell her to wait a minute!" Lucas replied, before deciding to put the phone back on the nightstand.

After a while, Lucas left his room, intending to immediately meet the guest Joana was referring to.

Now Lucas is in the living room. It turned out to be true. Filia and Keenan were sitting there waiting for him. They quickly got up, as a sign of respect to the host.

"Filia? Keenan?" Lucas whispered a little surprised by their presence in his house.

"Good afternoon, Mr Lucas," said Filia kindly and bowed slightly, while Keenan only smiled.

"Sit down, please!" Lucas asked them to return to their original seats.

"Thank you, Sir," replied Filia.

"How are you, Sir. Are you all right? Sorry, I was just able to visit. I just came back from the village," said Filia after the three of them sat down on the sofa.

"My condition has improved, Filia, as you can see." Lucas replied with a friendly smile.

"Thank God. I sympathize with what happened to you and your family, Sir," replied Filia with a sad expression. "Oh yeah, how's Ellena doing. She's fine, isn't she?" She asked again.

Lucas lowered his head for a moment, before looking back at Filia with a wistful expression. Only this time did he show sadness in front of other people.

"Yeah, My mother said, Ellena was fine. I don't know exactly, Filia," Lucas answered a little doubtfully.

"W-what do you mean, Sir?" Filia widened her eyes, surprised by Lucas' words.

Not only Filia, but also Keenan who was quite surprised by Lucas' answer. They seemed to have caught something wrong going on in Lucas and Ellena's household.

"Don't you guys know anything about Ellena yet?" Lucas asked for sure and Filia immediately responded by shaking her head.

"What's something, Sir? Did something happen to Ellena?" asked Filia with great enthusiasm.

"Yes, Ellena left the house while I was in a coma. That's why I don't know her current state and whereabouts."

Filia and Keenan were even more wide-eyed at Lucas' answer. How could Ellena leave Lucas in such a state. Impossible. Ellena couldn't have done that without a reason. They knew very well who Ellena was.

"Are you not mistaken, Sir?" Filia reaffirmed Lucas' statement.

"Why? You don't believe it?" Lucas asked back as he looked at Filia and Keenan alternately, as if he understood the meaning behind the expressions of the pair of people in front of him.

"Me too. I also don't believe it." He added, forcing a laugh, hiding his sadness.

"I know who Ellena is. She couldn't have left you without a reason, especially when you weren't in a good condition," said Keenan, starting to speak up and trying to defend Ellena, to convince Lucas that Ellena wasn't a bad woman who would dump someone.

"Yeah, but in fact she left me. I don't know why. She just left, without leaving any messages to my family or to the maids in this house." Lucas replied.

"I've asked several of my men to look for her, but no one has been able to find her." He added later.

"But-"

"I believe what you said, Keenan. Ellena couldn't have left me without a reason. Something must have happened while I was in a coma." Lucas concluded, not giving Keenan another chance to explain.

"Yeah, I think so." Keenan nodded, confirming Lucas' words.

A feeling of worry immediately crossed his mind. He knew very well that Ellena had no other close relatives. If you leave Lucas' house, is it possible for Ellena to return to the village? Ah, that seems impossible. He was sure Lucas had been looking for Ellena there.

"Can you help me?" Lucas asked while looking at Filia and Keenan expectantly.

Keenan and Filia looked at each other for a moment, before responding to Lucas' question.

"What can we do for you, Lucas?" Keenan asked as if ready to help Lucas.

"Please help find her. Maybe you know the places that Ellena frequents or places where Ellena might go, other than the village where she was born." Lucas asked.

"Have you looked for her in the village?" asked Keenan to make sure.

"Yeah, but Ellena and her mom weren't there." Lucas informed him.

Keenan thought for a moment, recalling some of the possible places where Ellena was hiding at this time.

"Oh, or maybe you know Ellena's closest relative?" Lucas asked again.

"No." Keenan whispered, shaking his head. "Ellena has no other relatives." He added.

***

Elsewhere, Ellena was seen sobbing in her room, clutching her cell phone tightly.

After harboring longing for her husband for a long time, finally a few minutes ago she decided to contact Lucas. It's just that she didn't say anything and deliberately hid her contact number, so that Lucas couldn't call back.

There was no other intention, other than wanting to treat her longing for Lucas and also wanting to know the man's condition now.

There was a feeling of happiness that was detected immediately by her heart, when she could hear Lucas' voice directly. The voice that had always seemed to ring in her ears.

Ah, she still clearly remembers what Lucas said when he reminded her to eat. She even remembers the time when the man yelled at her and teased her. All the events that she had been through with Lucas are still well preserved in her memory. Crowded. It was the pain she was feeling right now.

Far from the bottom of her heart, she was happier because it meant that Lucas had woken up from the coma. Even though she didn't know Lucas' real condition, at least she was relieved to hear that her husband was able to talk again.

Ellena's tears streamed down her cheeks. She wanted so badly to tell Lucas about her current whereabouts, but she couldn't do that. Remembering her promise to Veronica that was already spoken. She couldn't deny it all.

After all, she didn't want to force her way back on Lucas, when Veronica still hadn't approved her relationship with him. It was enough of the pain she had received from that middle-aged woman, when she was despised and considered a cheap woman. She didn't want to hear those hurtful words again from Veronica's mouth.

"Lucas, I'm sorry. I can't possibly stay by your side when your mother no longer wants me to exist. I sincerely accept all of this, for the sake of your happiness and that of your family. I hope you're okay there. You don't have to worry. fine here, as long as you're okay there too, because my highest level of pain is seeing you hurt helplessly." Ellena whispered in a stuttering voice.

"I hope God always takes care of you." She added, crying even more. Until the sound of sobbing was heard out of the room and distracted Briana who was busy folding clothes.

Less than two minutes, Briana was standing in the doorway of Ellena's room, because the door wasn't locked. With a sad expression she approached her daughter who was crying while looking at her.

The bond between a mother and her child is quite strong. Briana immediately understood what Ellena was feeling right now, so she immediately hugged Ellena's body without saying anything.

"Mom, Lucas has come out of a coma." Ellena whispered amidst sobs.

Not wanting to respond, Briana just tightened her grip on Ellena. Couldn't stand seeing her daughter go through all that pain anymore. She must have been able to feel everything Ellena was feeling, until finally tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I heard his voice, Mom. I heard Lucas speak."

Hearing Ellena's statement, Briana couldn't hold back her tears anymore. Only her hand had been trying to calm Ellena, giving her daughter a gentle caress on the back.

"I miss him, Mom. I miss Lucas. I don't know how else to treat this longing." Ellena groaned again, again getting no response from Briana.

Keep calm and write something....
