The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 72 - Javier's Fiance

Embarrassment spread all over his heart yet he was relieved that Jennifer isn't awake till yet. Otherwise, it could have been a more awkward moment with her, if she saw him like this.

Moreover, though it was normal for a man to have boners in the morning, the major thing was her girly scent which was making his body react immediately, without his control. God, how can he taste the sweetest temptation early in the morning?

With that, Javier tried to remove her hand from his body but failed miserably. Also, her grip tightened more as compared to earlier which brought a tired sigh out of his lips.

'If she wakes up.. and sees me like this…' No, he can't even imagine such a situation. He knew this kitten was still innocent. How can he turn her into a wild cat all of the sudden?

Keeping the same thought in his mind, Javier lifted his arm and tried to pull Jennifer quite away from his figure, with gentleness. In a similar manner, he finally succeeded.

"Thank god.. she didn't wake up," Javier mumbled in between his breathe and was ready to get up from the bed but, unexpectedly, Jennifer took the same turn in his direction and once again wrapped her hand around his abdomen, closer to where he was getting a reaction.

Should he cry? Or just bang his head against the wall?!? Deep curses were ready in his mind when the situation turned worse than before. It wasn't the simple task as he earlier thought it would be.

'Who knew that this cat likes to be a Koala in the night during her sleep.' Restlessness was spread on his entire face but fortunately, she yawned too which sent a clear indication that her sleep was finished.

Quickly, removing her hand from his abdomen, he used the pillow to keep on his thigh and wished, "Good morning. I guess it is time for you to wake up."

Jennifer rubbed her eyes and looked around herself. "Hm... Goo..d morning to you too."

She stood and sat on the bed when they both noticed that her blanket was partially lying on the floor and his blanket was on top of them, covering half of her legs and half of his.

Their attention did shift to this but somehow, to ease out the awkwardness between them, they both decided to just ignore the fact about what she must have done in the night itself.

"How long since you woke up?" Jennifer asked a general question when she took the glass of water and gulp it in one go. "Just a few minutes ago. Did you have a peaceful sleep?"

"Yeah. The mattresses are good enough. Though it wasn't easy in the beginning because this place was a new one so it takes me time to adapt but somehow, I managed to sleep later in the night." She gave him a warm smile and Javier just nodded his head.

Yet Jennifer found something unusual at the time. Her eyes peeked at the pillow that he was holding and kept on his lap. "Why are you keeping a pillow?"

"Oh.. this.." Javier laughed half-heartedly because he was aware that lying might not make her feel convinced but continued, "I..I.. have the habit of keeping a pillow with me while sleeping. Must have taken the pillow at night during sleep."

As predicted by him, her face twisted at his reply because she clearly read that he had no such pillow while he was sleeping on the couch last night. But who was she to interfere with his matters at first? Moreover, they don't even concern themselves with each other's habits.

So she just nodded her head at his statement, which made him smile more, but deep inside his heart was now calming down which earlier rose to the erratic beats.

Jennifer took a look at the wall hanging clock and said in an understanding tone, "I shall use the washroom first."

"Yeah, no problem. Here is a powder room also available outside. I will use that. Go ahead with your work." He honestly replied and this made her feel comfortable so that she can continue her regular routine in this home as well.

Jennifer took the house slippers and walked inside the washroom, and seeing her stepping inside, finally made him feel as if a heavy boulder lifted off his shoulders.

He put the pillow back in its place and was relieved that she didn't suspect anything grave. Otherwise, if Jennifer asked further questions, it would have been a disaster for him to answer back.

'I guess I should take my leave before she comes up.' Javier stood up and walked to the powder room to relieve himself naturally.

Meanwhile, Jennifer brushed her teeth and folded her hair into a small ponytail. Due to the freshness of the morning, her skin looked radiant which made her stunning.

Taking a look at herself in the mirror, she made her way to the living room to find Javier making breakfast for them. "So the breakfast is on you?"

"You made food for our last night so I should, at last, do breakfast. I don't want my little cat to just work and work, and finally, get tired." She was impressed that he was taking initiative but on the second note, due to his delicious food, she guessed that making food for anyone wasn't a big deal for him.

"Do you have some work to do today?" Jennifer asked, in the hope that as he is back in his states, he might have work and probably will leave soon.

"I-" he wasn't able to finish but before that, the doorbell rang and Jennifer stood from the chair. "I will check it out."

Javier too didn't say much thinking that it must be Ellen or Ryan to deliver groceries in the morning.

Jennifer opens the door with a glowing and Jolly mood, to only witness a lady standing with a wide smile plastered on her lips.

"Well.. who are you?" Jennifer tried to sound polite, despite her gaze falling on the heavy makeup that the lady did.

"Is Javier home? I'm his fiance… here to meet him."
