The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 73 - Kiss?

"Is Javier at home? I'm his fiance and want to meet him."

Silence.

Silence

Jennifer's face lost all its color now when those words entered her mind. Fiance? Which fiance is she talking about? Javier as her fiance? What kind of shit is the lady spouting!?

Tons of questions arose in her mind and she was ready to ask. But unconsciously, her words were stuck in her throat and her hand clutched the doorknob too tightly.

When the lady saw that Jennifer didn't reply to her, she once again asked, "Is Javier home? And what are you doing in his home right now?"

"Jennifer, who is out?! Ask Ellen to keep the things on the dining table!" Javier's voice from the kitchen brought Jennifer back into her senses when she stared at the lady and slightly nodded her head.

Stepping back, to let the girl enter the house and closed the door when the lady entered and directly went into the kitchen.

'He has a fiance?!? But he said that he has no one special in his life.' A frown settled on her forehead as if remembering their last conversation where he just confirmed her.

Yet, a lady showed up at his house, claiming him to be her fiance.. she won't lie, right?

They were residing under a single roof yet he dared to stay with her despite having a fiance? Displeasure was written all over her face. There was no contract, no hard feelings attached.

Despite that, there's something that continuously irritates her.

When Jennifer appeared in the kitchen, she saw the lady trying to hug Javier but he was too resistant to even let her touch him. The exchange of words and their actions was quite strong to notice.

"Javier! Let me at least hug you! You've been away for so long and never contacted me. Now you are back and still, I'm getting to know this from your father? Why can't you just tell me this straight away?" The lady made a pout but Javier ignored her like thin air.

"My presence is not your business, Em. Go back to your home instead of disturbing my privacy here." His cold glittering tone made Emily a little furious.

"Why are you discarding me so much? I haven't done anything. As your fiance, at least I have the power to hug you." Once again, she claimed her status as the fiance of this man, which instantly made Jennifer's mood turn gloomy.

But somewhere her heart also felt a little satisfaction with what Javier replied to her, "You are not my fiance, remember that."

Just then, Javier lifted his eyes from the annoying girl back to Jennifer who stood near the entrance of the kitchen. Emily too followed his gaze's direction and looked at the girl.

"You must be Jennifer Taylor, Lucas's kidnapped bride, am I right ms?" So much right way to entitle her. Jennifer showed a fake smile on her face and slightly nodded her head.

Emily came forward and passed Jennifer's stiffed body a bear hug. "Oh, I'm so sorry that your wedding got canceled due to Javier's plan of kidnapping you.."

"I...It's alright. They will someday give me back to Lucas once he finished their demand." While saying this, her eyes moved from Emily's thick makeup face to Javier and then back at Emily.

Emily took Jennifer's hands into hers and said, "You are so sweet to not feel sad about that. I'm sorry for being rude at the entrance. I was just.. little annoyed at this fiance.. of mine." Emily pointed towards Javier who wasn't even giving her the attention, she deserved.

Rather than her, his eyes were searching for Jennifer's look. His deep black eyes were just intoxicatedly looking into Jennifer's eyes to feel as if she wasn't being herself. Emily's presence surely affected her and her body language spoke much more than her lips...

"It is nice to meet you. I should go and freshen up. You guys enjoy your time, I will have a bath." Jennifer pulled her hands through Emily's clutch and after passing them a faint smile, she proceeded to walk back into the washroom and closed the door behind her.

It was just too difficult to handle. Jennifer stood against the surface of the door and held her mouth to make sure she didn't make any noise.

'Why the hell is my heart hurt so much? Why?! F*CK this pain!!!' With these words, she immediately switched the shower as cold water poured on her body.

Without removing her clothes, she kept standing under the water, despite knowing that it might make her catch the flu or fever.

But handling the pain of her heart being squeezed thousands of times was not making her feel alive. As if her small dear heart had been pricked by any injections and now it was getting hard to get it outta there.

"Gosh…"

Meanwhile, back in the kitchen, Javier was chopping the vegetables with an expressionless face of his. Emily left no chance to speak about the nonsense of all the world, which only irritated Javier.

"Javier, why have you become so distant? we used to talk so much in the past.." he cut her off in the middle, "that was before our engagement went was fixed by your family and Johnsons. Things chance just like people."

He constantly tried to avoid her, yet she knew that he will not be able to resist the temptation. The belief of hers to feel she is beautiful enough was already a mistake.

Emily was wearing high waist jeans, paired with high heels and a crop top. The most simple thing that would have made her look good yet what dimmed her light was the heavy makeup which she applied.

But Emily didn't give up so easily on her fiance-to-be.

Bringing her hand forward she tried to touch his hands and spoke in the most feeble voice.

"Javier… I'm already your fiance… will you not even give me a kiss? Jennifer is also not here.."
