The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 316 - Sixty-Four

Evan furiously attacked the serpent, turning its insides into a bloody mess. The Jade Serpent tried to kill Evan by shrinking and releasing gastric juices, but none of this could stop Evan. So the beast took the only possible option that would allow it to survive.

The serpent spit out Evan like a bone stuck in his throat. Evan flew at tremendous speed like a projectile into the rock and was buried deep in it. He tried to get out, but the Jade Serpent attacked with all his might.

He was angry that Evan would use his technique against himself. At that moment, the serpent wanted to kill Evan and tear him apart. They had a duel, but nobody canceled out emotion. Like the man, the beast was very fierce in its rage.

Evan missed one blow after another, blood flowing from the corners of his mouth, and the serpent's attacks were too fast to be seen. Moreover, the Jade Serpent tried to pierce Evan with its sharp fangs, but Evan instinctively dodged the deadly attacks.

"You damned reptile, I'll cut you into pieces and roast you on a spit!" Evan shouted furiously.

The Jade Serpent was furious, but Evan wasn't thrilled with the situation either. His helplessness began to infuriate him, and Wrath began to build up in him. A red aura began to emanate from his body at the exact moment, and the Dragon Sigil's passive effect was activated. Evan grew stronger by the second.

Wrath was not always caused by hatred or a desire for revenge. It could have been some non-negative feeling. During fights or competitions, many people could feel aggression or hostility towards their opponent, but only for the duration of the fight. In that case, the people fighting would give their all to the fight, but they wouldn't forget that it was a duel.

Evan gradually began to fend off attacks, but Evan lost their battle. Unlike him, Jade Serpent hadn't used any techniques yet. He only fought with his body.

The Jade Serpent evolved only once, but this evolution was special. This kind of thing happened quite rarely. Usually, a monster evolved at least once before getting lucky and having a special evolution.

Realizing that this was his chance to win, the Jade Serpent used his special skill. Many of his scales glowed brightly, and some of them began to shimmer in rainbow colors.

This skill was elementary and gave the Jade Beast one single effect - insane speed.

The serpent had been fast before, but now it had moved to the next level. Evan blocked one punch, but at the exact moment, he missed two punches. By the second, he was getting more wounds, and the Jade Serpent was only gaining speed. As the serpent continued to move, more scales became iridescent, increasing his speed.

Evan realized that the serpent would tear him to pieces if he didn't do something now. So Evan coldly said, "Sigil 64 demon Duke Flauros, activation."

At the same moment, Evan's consciousness was transported to Nirvana.

Last time, Evan used Sigil 66 of the demon Marquis Kimaris, but now he was using Sigil 64 of the demon Duke Flauros. Evan had to do this for several reasons.

First of all, if he had used Sigil 66 of the demon Marquis Kimaris, he would only have wasted his life force and energy. The Jade Serpent was many times stronger than the Rainbow Beetles. But that wasn't the main reason he drew the Sigil of the 64th Duke Flauros demon.

The 65th demon was unique. It was different from the others. Someone could use this demon to fight in special situations, but it didn't make sense. Not all demons were suitable for combat. For example - 71st demon - Duke Dantalion, in some variations of Sigil, it could be used for battles, but it was pretty stupid.

This demon was something of an informer from the demon world, a similar situation was with the 65th demon. The most accurate definition for him was a merchant.

Moreover, Evan needed enormous power to defeat the Jade Serpent, but it was also a problem. For the power of the 66th demon, Marquis Kimaris, Evan had to pay twenty years of his life, which wasn't much. But, a 65th demon's power would cost many times as much, and the same was true for a 64th demon. That's why Evan didn't want to use the power of the 64th demon until the very last moment.

When Evan found himself in Nirvana, he encountered the demon he had summoned.

Duke Flauros looked like a big, fiery leopard. But, most demons could take on human form, which was what Duke Flauros did when he saw Evan.

He turned into a tall, thin man with yellow hair. There were leopard-spot tattoos all over his body, and his eyes burned with a bright flame.

"You're pretty desperate because come to me. Rest assured you'll get all the power you want for an unacceptable price, ahahahaha." The demon said loudly.

Evan smirked and said, "Compared to your true form right now, you're nothing more than a fire cat. But, you're right. Your power is going to cost me a lot right now."

No matter how Evan interacted with the demon or what mood the demon was in, the price wouldn't change. First of all, demons were known for never cheating and always offering a fair deal. It was up to the one who decided to use their power to agree or not.

"You're too cocky, okay, it doesn't matter. Speak your wish already, and I will kindly grant it." Smirking, Duke Flauros said.

Evan looked coldly at the demon and said, "Give me the power to create such powerful flames to burn this crystal forest. I will turn this place into a flaming hell on earth!"

Bright flames began to emanate from Duke Flauros' body at the exact moment.. It engulfed the entire space. The demon smiled and said, "Right now, your life span is 617 years, then I want 300!"
