The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 315 - Reinforcement In Combat

Evan expected the Jade Serpent to be a serious opponent, but he didn't even have a chance to win so far. Moreover, Evan had no right to use potions. Otherwise, their duel would turn into a battle to the death.

The Jade Serpent continued to attack Evan. The beast turned into a blur and unleashed several tail blows on Evan.

Evan didn't have time to dodge, all he could do was try to block these deadly blows. He was lucky to have a 5-star weapon that could withstand almost any attack.

Even with his superior vision, Evan could barely see every flick of the beast's tail. The Jade Serpent dominated this battle from the start.

At one point, Evan began to worry that he wouldn't handle such an opponent, but that didn't make his desire to win any less. On the contrary, he wanted to defeat this serpent, which increased by the second.

Suddenly Evan's aura grew stronger, his eyes became deeper, and he seemed to fall into a kind of trance.

Evan sharply twisted the scythe in his hand and fended another strike from the Jade Serpent. Then he bounced to the side and cast several spells. The serpent easily repelled the purple beams with a flick of its tail. But, the beast was wary. Evan was much more dangerous now that he had entered the Gust.

The last time Evan entered this unique state was quite some time ago. It happened during a special test for Inner Disciples at The Last Moon Academy. Evan had wanted to kill the Bloody Berserker back then and tear his flesh apart.

But, the situation was different now. He felt no malice or hatred toward the Jade Serpent. He wanted to win and prove that he was the strongest, no matter what.

The desire to win in a fair fight was one of the noblest feelings one could feel at all.

The Jade Serpent prepared to attack, and Evan stood in a stance. He was ready to take any attack.

The beast sped up and unleashed a crushing blow on Evan, but Evan had no problem dodging this time. Moreover, he swung his scythe sharply and plunged the blade into the serpent's flesh. Magma Blood was a mighty weapon. So Evan was able to cut through the snake's tough scales, but suddenly something happened that Evan could never have expected.

The serpent's muscles began to contract, and eventually, the scythe got stuck in the monster's flesh so hard that Evan didn't have time to pull his weapon out. Next, the serpent attacked Evan with its mouth wide open trying to swallow him.

Evan suddenly jumped aside, bypassing the snake's mouth. In front of Evan's eyes, the serpent swallowed several crystal trees and massive boulders. Its mouth was like a black hole into which anything could fit.

<Damnit, I know my opponent too poorly, but I really lacked strength, I couldn't get Magma Blood out, and now I'm left unarmed.> Evan thought as he looked at the scythe embedded in the serpent's tail.

Evan wanted to try to get closer and get his weapon, but the serpent knew Evan's plan perfectly well. So, it ripped the weapon from its tail and tried to break the scythe. But, the Jade Serpent failed, so the serpent swung its tail and threw the scythe into the depths of the Glass Forest.

The beast did so that Evan could no longer use his weapon. He would have to spend quite a bit of time to find his scythe. It was impossible to do that during such a dangerous battle.

<It's weird. I get the impression that my Sin spells aren't working at full capacity.> Evan thought, looking at the black streaks on his hands.

During Gust, all of the mage's parameters increased, whether it was speed, power, or the power of his spells.

Before another serpent attack, Evan cast Lucifer's Shackles again and saw something unusual.

The stripes became bigger and a little thinner. At the same time, Evan felt his body overflowing with power. It seemed to him that his physical strength had increased several times. Of course, it was a temporary effect, but it was incredible.

Bam.

The snake's tail came down on Evan, but he didn't duck this time. Evan clenched his hand into a fist and retaliated with all his might. This attack was so powerful that a shockwave dispersed a distance of several meters.

The Jade Serpent was surprised. Evan wasn't just able to block his attack. Evan was able to repel it and even began to attack himself.

Evan's figure blurred, and he began to strike at the serpent with many blows. Before, his melee attacks would not have been able to penetrate the snake's tough scales, but now it was different. Cracks appeared in more and more of the scales with each blow. Evan, however, needed to attack several more times to pierce the serpent's armor and get to its flesh.

The Jade Serpent hissed furiously and opened its mouth wide. It wasn't going to let Evan do whatever he wanted.

Evan wanted to dodge the attack, but suddenly the serpent sped up, and in an instant, Evan was swallowed. But, even in such a situation, he was not confused. Once inside the snake's mouth, Evan dodged the deadly fangs and moved forward.

It was insane, but Evan intended to attack from within. His Warp spun, and he cast Death Feathers Fan. Next, Evan swung his arm, and many energy feathers collapsed into the serpent's flesh.

The Jade Serpent was a huge creature, so there was enough room for a small creature like a human.

The beast thought Evan was finished, but suddenly it felt a terrible pain from inside. The Jade Serpent began to lunge in different directions because of the agony he felt at that moment. His flesh was tearing from the inside out. This pain was hard to describe in words.

Roooooooaaar!

There was a furious roar from the serpent throughout the Glass Forest, and its muscles began to contract. It tried to crush Evan like a pathetic insect. But Evan wasn't going to give up. He had enough strength to prevent himself from being crushed.

Moreover, Evan continued to attack and cast spells, gradually approaching the coveted victory.
