The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 265 - The Quest

"Is Demonic Tree looking for something?" Asked Evan.

Evan knew from rumors that the Demonic Tree was searching ancient ruins, caves, abandoned fortresses, and so on for some purpose. But, he had no information about what Demonic Tree was looking for.

"Yes, I should not tell this information to anyone who is not already a member of Demonic Tree, but an exception can be made in this situation. I can't give you a mantle and hold a ceremony for you to join our organization officially. For that, you would have to be sent to one of our bases. I hope you understand that." Rave said calmly.

Evan nodded.

"Good, then listen very carefully. I'm sure you know that the Demonic Tree uses demon spells, we are best known for that particular feature.. However, not all Demonic Tree members use demon spells, because those spells are our trump card."

"Trump card?" Evan interrogated.

"Yes, learning how to use demon spells is very difficult. Moreover we don't have as many as everyone thinks. This type of spell is very rare but also incredibly powerful because it is the legacy of powerful beings that existed before the universe began. Mostly the members of the Demonic Tree use dark and forbidden magic. Of course, we also know a large number of rare and powerful spells of other types." Said Rave.

"Are there any conditions to use demon spells?" Asked Evan.

Rave nodded, "Yes, the most important condition is the concentration of mana in the mage. In order to cast a demon spell, you have to be at least at the - Two-Pointed Star stage. I know you've met members of our organization at The Hills of Bloody Falls. I think you noticed what stage they were at."

Evan nodded. He remembered the spell that one of the Demonic Tree members had cast. At that moment, the mage's shield was covered in the scales of some creature. These scales were strong enough to defend against a Lightning Wolf strike.

"We call these spells the Art of the Seven Princes of Hell. That's a name you've also heard before, and I'm sure you want to know more about it." Smiling, Rave said.

"Of course, I'm listening to you carefully," Evan said seriously.

After all this time, he finally came close to finding out the main secret of the Demonic Tree. The demon spells that this organization used were absolutely not the same power that Evan was using. It was the power of demons that did not exist in his world.

"First, let's start with who the Seven Princes of Hell are. They are the most powerful demons in all of Hell. There aren't actually seven, as the name says, but several more. But, certain seven demons are the most important in this group and all Hell. I won't tell you about those who aren't in the main seven. You'll learn about the other demons in the Seven Princes of Hell later."

Rave adjusted his glasses and continued.

"The first major demon of the Seven Princes of Hell I'm going to tell you about is Satan. He is one of the strongest demons even among the Seven Princes of Hell."

<Satan? I've never heard that name. It's amazing that such a powerful demon exists, and I didn't even know about it. I definitely didn't come here for anything.> Evan thought.

"I should say that each of the Seven Princes of Hell corresponds to some sin of the Seven Deadly Sins. In the case of Satan, it is Wrath. When a magician uses the spells from the Chronicles of Satan, he gains tremendous power. Every aspect of it is multiplied, but there is one big disadvantage. The mage must control the growing anger and gradually build it up. Only then will the mage be able to unleash the incredible power of this demon."

"In case you're wondering, I mostly use spells from the Satanic Chronicle. You can't tell by me, but in battle, I stop being so calm. On the one hand, it's my desire, on the other hand, it's a side effect of this type of spells. I hope you understand all."

Evan nodded. He hadn't seen Satan's Chronicles spells in action, but he was sure it was immense power.

"The next demon from the Seven Princes of Hell I'm going to tell you about is Asmodeus, and he corresponds to the mortal sin, Lust. You might think it's impossible to give yourself over to Lust during battle, and you'd be right. It's all about excitement and general enthusiasm for the upcoming battle. The more a man wants to fight, shed blood, and kill, the more he gives himself over to this hazy feeling."

"As we learned while using a spell from the Asmodeus Chronicle, the mage's mana supply and fire magic spells are greatly increased. The more aroused a person is, the more powerful these spells become. I think it has something to do with the hellfire that's always burning with terrible flames." Rave said quietly.

<A demon again I've never heard of. Even by the description, the abilities and effects these demons give are fantastic. I need to get stronger as soon as possible, this is a tremendous power that no one else can match>. Evan thought.

He had always been attracted to the limitless power of demons, and now, for the first time in a long time, he was learning about new powers and demons unknown to him. Evan couldn't wait to start studying them and start practicing them.

Rave wanted to continue, but he was suddenly interrupted by Evan.

"I have a question." Abruptly Evan said.

"I'm listening to you," Rave replied calmly.

"You said that you are using spells from the Chronicles of Satan. Does that mean a mage can only use the spells of one particular demon from the Seven Princes of Hell or is that your personal preference?"

"There is no limit in this regard, you can use the spells of all the Seven Princes of Hell, it's entirely up to you. Moreover, besides the spells of the Satanic Chronicles, I use the power of some other demons.  Not to worry, but talent also has an effect here. Not all members of the Demonic Tree can master the Seven Princes of Hell spells equally."

<Good, I'll definitely need to learn every possible spell I can get access to. This is too valuable information to pass up.> Thought Evan.

"Good, then let's move on to the next demon."
