Although, she was calm on the surface, her heart was hammering against her chest. She felt a dull pain in her heart and placed her head on the bed. She reached out her hand, tracing Jingyi Wang's nose with her index finger.

An endless wave of grief surged through Xiao li's heart. The warmth of Jingyi Wang's body and the sound of his steady breathing were the only things that gave her comfort.

She tapped his nose gently with her index finger with a pout on her lips. Then, her gaze landed on his lips. Her finger then moved to his lips. After a while, she leaned over and planted a kids on his lips.

A week passed in a blink of an eye. The search of the driver who drove the trunk continues. Apart from the police, the Wang family are doing their very best to get the culprit who drove the trunk.

Xiao li, on the other hand, didn't get a good rest. She would always stay awake to watch over Jingyi Wang and would wake up every day with dark circles.

While at the Zhi's, Liu Wei had not been himself ever since he heard that Jingyi Wang was hospitalized. Although, he knew that he would never get the chance to be with Xiao li still he couldn't get her off his mind.

One would be happy seeing his love rival in danger, right?

He had thought of many ways to get Xiao li back, now that Jingyi Wang was in a coma.

Even, he secretly wished that Jingyi Wang would not wake up.

As he thought of this‌, a strange light flashed across his dark eyes making him look dangerous to approach.

"Third master, Miss li is downstairs waiting for you"

Just then, a voice sounded from outside which interrupted his trains of thought. He shot a cold glare at the direction the voice came from before replying with a "Mhm"

With that, he stood up and walked out of the room.

Li Kaixin was talking elegantly with Huo Jianqi with a sweet smile on her face when Liu Wei walked down the stairs. Her smile was soft and pure like an angel which made Liu Wei stare at her in a daze.

Li Kaixin was also considered a beauty. Her beautiful face and alluring figure was enough to pull the world apart.

At that moment, Li Kaixin's gaze subconsciously landed on Liu Wei who was standing at the end of the staircase.

"Brother WeiWei" Li Kaixin immediately stood up once she saw Liu Wei. Her voice was as soft and light as a feather which made it difficult for one to ignore.

Liu Wei smiled at her.

Upon seeing his smile, it was as if Li Kaixin was bewitched, her lips curled into a smile, her dark bright eyes brightened like stars in the dark.

"Third son, XinXin came here to visit you" When Huo Jianqi heard li Kaixin call Liu Wei's name, She looked at him and said affectionately.

At that moment, Li Kaixin's heart started to race eradically upon seeing Liu Wei's tall figure approaching them. His entire figure exuded a strong aura which made Li Kaixin nervous as she looked up at him.

He grinned at his mom, "I was busy with work and as soon as I was told that XinXin was around, I rushed here immediately"

Huo Jianqi who was about to scold her son before instantly smiled when she heard his words. She slowly patted his shoulders. "Take good care of XinXin"

After she said that, she walked away with her hands behind her back.

Li Kaixin suddenly laughed, "Auntie is really funny"

"Why are you here?" Liu Wei changed the topic as he gave her a deep stare.

Li Kaixin's smile froze on her lips when she heard his question.

She could not tell him that she came over to visit him because she missed him, right?

She suddenly walked away with the intention of going to the dining area to help the servant before saying, "Can't I come here anymore? Am I not welcomed here?"

As soon as she said that, she flashed a bitter smile at Liu Wei.

It was when Liu Wei saw her smile did he realize that he had been to harsh on her. He didn't even greet her or welcome her instead he questioned her.

His expression softened and he gave her a toothy smile. "XinXin, I'm sorry. There have been a lot of my mind recently" as he spoke, he walked towards her. "Why did you come here?"

Li Kaixin turned her head to look at him. "I came to visit you" then she looked back and brought out a small black box from her bag. "Brother WeiWei, I saw a jewelry shop on my way here and I decided to stop by to buy this for you"

She handed him the small box and stared at him nervously as if waiting for him to accept it.

Liu Wei opened the small box and a gold necklace appeared before his eyes. He raised his head to look at her, "This-"

"It's for you, brother WeiWei" she quickly interrupted him.

Upon seeing that he had opened her gift, her lips curled into a smile and she looked at him anxiously.

"I like it" Liu Wei suddenly smiled at her, then he closed the box and passed out to the servant beside him. "Go and keep it in my room"

The servant bowed and quickly left.

Upon seeing that he had accepted her gift, Li Kaixin's smile grew bigger and bigger.

If Liu Wei could accept her gift just like that, it means that she had a special place in his heart.

As she thought of this, she began to grin from ear to ear.

"I will ask the chefs to cook something for you, okay?" Liu Wei moved closer to her and placed his huge hand on her head, affectionately rubbing her head.

Li Kaixin was stunned. "..."

She looked up at him slowly, her eyes widened. She could feel the warmth from his huge hand spreading across her body eventually warming up her heart.
