Chapter 434 – Where Are You Going To?
"Cat, believe me when I said I love you a lot and I want you to be happy. I didn't mind becoming a bad person for your sake because I know very well that your happiness lies with Jeffrey. I want you to learn to fight for your happiness no matter the odds just like me," Jasmine holding onto Catherine's hands caressed them affectionately.
Catherine stares at her best friend face without uttering a word.
Jasmine has always supported her despite the difficulties. She knows better than anyone that Jasmine's affections for her are as true as heaven and earth.
She knows Jasmine did whatever she did because she wanted the best for her.
"I will try my best to be brave in fighting for my love but I can't promise to be as brave as you since I know very well that I have a long way to go to get there," Catherine said playfully. Her smile made Jasmine relax. There was silence after Catherine finished talking.
Catherine brought back her attention to Jasmine's face after about three minutes had passed.
"Speaking about fixing relationships are you and Jackson having problems?" Catherine asked curiously.
"No, but why would you ask me such a question?" Jasmine asked confused that Catherine would say what she did.
"I thought yours and Jackson's relationship was suffering because I saw Jackson at the front of the company earlier but surprisingly he turned back without coming in to check up on you," Catherine said honestly.
She went to the ground floor to pass information to the team leader of the finance department. She was about to head upstairs when she saw Jackson close to the glass door.
At first, she thought he and Jasmine had an appointment but she was stunned when she saw him turn back without coming into the building.
"You saw Ice Prince at the company today?" Jasmine asked, her eyes widened in astonishment.
"When was that exactly?" Her expression turned to that of curiosity almost immediately.
"I saw him some minutes before we left and he was on the phone with someone. When I saw him I thought you had cancelled our appointment to go out with him. I was surprised when you confirmed that our appointment was still valid," Catherine replied in a carefree tone.
"If what you said is true then that means he was already downstairs when he called and asked me out on a date….,"
"He asked you out on a date and you refused?" Catherine asked in shock.
There is no way her best friend would miss going out on a date with Jackson so she was surprised Jasmine refused to go out on a date with Jackson for her sake.
"Cat, if you saw him earlier then why didn't you mention anything about it to me? Why did it have to take you so long to reveal this," Jasmine said standing up with her handbag in her hand.
"Where are you going to?" Catherine asked seeing Jasmine about to walk away.
"To meet him of course," Jasmine said turning to spare Catherine a last glance.
"I have been dying to have him all to myself these past days but I haven't been very lucky. I can't believe I miss such an opportunity to be with him….,"
"Are you saying you regret coming to the bar with me?" Catherine asked seeing the impatient look on Jasmine's face. Catherine's words made Jasmine sit back on the chair.
"How could I ever regret helping my friend?" Jasmine asked in a serious tone.
"I don't regret talking things out with you today. What my words meant was that I would have tried everything possible to make our appointment still valid without having to let Ice Prince go if I had known he was around the company when he called me," Jasmine made herself clear in case of a misunderstanding. Catherine smiled when she heard Jasmine's explanation.
She was only pretending when she asked her previous question. She didn't know that Jasmine will take it very seriously.
"I am sure he must be waiting for you at his home so why are you so anxious like he is gonna run away?" Catherine joked to ease her best friend's worries.
"And that is what I am afraid of. Where am I gonna start looking for him if he runs away?" Jasmine said playfully. She stood up to leave only to turn back and face Catherine.
"Your lover is waiting for you outside the bar. Don't take too much time to leave the bar or he will be very worried…,"
"Frey is waiting for me outside the bar?" Catherine asked, her voice containing a mixture of shock and excitement. She couldn't hide how happy she was to know that he was waiting for her.
"Who else would he be waiting for if not you? Is it me?" Jasmine joked before she turned and leave the bar.
It wasn't up to three minutes before Jasmine left the bar that Catherine also took her bag and left.
When she reached outside she clearly saw Jeff standing beside his car peering at the entrance of the bar, but she acted like she didn't see him.
She ignored Jeff and staggered to the main road to hail a taxi. Jeff on parking his car where it won't be tolled away, run to meet Catherine still trying to hail a taxi.
"Erin, I know you are mad at me but please let me take you home. I promise I won't do what you dislike huh?" Jeff said as he tried to hold her hand only for the lady pretending to be drunk to beat his hand away.
"I promise that as long as you follow me home I will do whatever you want which of course breaking up with you is not part of it," Jeff made an effort to persuade the stubborn lady.
"If you don't want me to hold you, I will keep my hands far away from you and if you dislike my voice I will refrain from talking. I will do all these things as long as you agreed to go home with me," Jeff tried his last resort hoping that it will work on Catherine.
