Legacy of the Betelgeuse

We are teleported to the third stage and everyone is staring at the long and narrow path that's filled with traps. Kingstar is looking at me while pointing his thumb at the path.

"What now? Are you going to solo this one and miraculously cleared this stage without activating a single trap? Even if you're better than us, I don't think you can do it."

I walk past him while nodding.

"That's true, but..."

I turn around and look at Emma and point at her.

"She can."

Everyone is looking at Emma while Emma is pointing at herself while staring at us.

"Me?"

I nod while waving at her so she can come closer, she approaches me while taking a glimpse at the others who are still staring at her. I know what they're all thinking right now, they must be so confused about how is she will be able to clear this stage on her own. Ivonna and the other ladies should have known about Emma's earlier job, and I bet they know the gist of it. The truth is, I chose her is because she's a splendid wall climber and her grip strength in real life is the strongest of them all so she will be able to clear this stage without a problem with me giving her the instruction. Emma is gently touching her shoulder at my chest and furrows her forehead while panicking and being confused.

"What are you doing? What do you mean that I will be able to clear this stage on my own?"

Queenstar is tilting her head while pointing at Emma.

"Yeah, Trevor, what do you mean by that? Do you think she can clear this stage without activating a single trap? Why don't you use Azrael and fly toward the end of the path?"

I shake my head.

"No, you forget that we can't use anything in this stage and that includes summoning our Amruchi. Just try it yourself and see if you're able to summon yours."

Everyone tries to summon their Amruchis but there's no response from the system and nothing comes out. I look at Emma and put my hands on her shoulder while nodding.

"You can do this, just follow my instruction and you will be able to clear this stage on your own."

Emma looks at the narrow path and she looks so nervous right now but she's trying to calm herself down while looking at the obstacle on the walls and ceiling.

"Okay, what do you want me to do?"

I point at the long spearheads on the ceiling, she looks at it and hums with understanding.

"You will start from up there and..."

Emma is repeating what I said to her earlier and making sure that everything is in order, I listen to her and nod in agreement. Emma claps her hands while exhaling deeply, she's relaxing her whole body while staring at the obstacles. Ivonna, Francesca, Chelsea, and Grisell approach her and cheer for her, she looks at them while smiling nervously. The others are still confused and still questioning my decision but they will find out soon when they see it for themselves. Emma looks at me and she nods and she seems ready, I nod back at her and slowly backing away to the narrow path, she looks up and takes a deep breath.

"Are you ready, Em?"

She keeps staring at the long spearheads on the ceiling, she nods in agreement.

"Yeah, I'm ready. Give me a boost."

I'm bending my knees and put both my hands in between, she nods and immediately runs as fast as she can, she jumps onto my hands and I immediately lift and pull my hands as strong as I can so she can reach the spearheads. I turn around and see Emma is flying high up to the ceiling, she grabs the top of the spearhead that looks like a pole. She's hanging on it and slowly jumping from one to another, everyone is surprised that she manages to do it so easily. She's hanging on the last spearhead on the far back, she looks so composed and I can already tell she will handle them with ease.

Emma takes a deep breath and then jumps to the wall filled with holes where spikes are supposed to come out from there. She uses the holes as a place to put her hands and feet in, she climbs to the side until the end of that trap. She rubs her hands on the wall so she can get a better grip and removes the sweats from her palms while she's using her feet in the holes as a foothold. Everyone is standing next to me because they want to see Emma in action, they're all amazed and in awe of her ability.

Emma is wiping her palms on her clothes, everyone is looking at the obstacles and traps and they all notice that there's no other way for her to progress. Kingstar looks at me while furrowing his forehead and crossing his arms.

"What now? Is she stuck there? She barely passes the entrance and now she's stuck."

I scoff and look at him.

"Just watch."

Emma climbs up the wall using the holes and when she reaches the top she stops and hangs herself and using her right hand in the hole to hand on. She's staring at the other side of the wall where the similar trap is, she takes a deep breath and puts her feet on the wall. She bends her knees and then jumps to the other side of the walls using her legs muscles, she jumps from wall to wall and she barely makes it. She distance between the walls is 10 meters and it's really amazing, everyone is staring at her with their mouths and eyes wide open. Everyone is amazed at her but she seems composed as if it was nothing for her, she then continues climbing the walls. Diamond is staring at Emma while pressing his chest with his right hand.

"I think I'm in love..."

Everyone looks at Diamond from the corner of their eyes weirdly, Lothair looks at him with disgust and shakes his head because he's embarrassed to have a friend like him. Kingstar looks at Queenstar who's still in awe of what Emma just did.

"Can you do that?"

Queenstar looks at Kingstar and just shakes her head, Kingstar tilts his head while shrugging his mouth as if he's disappointed in her.

Emma jumps onto another spearhead and moves so swiftly from there to the end of the spearhead. She looks at her right that there's a ledge that's enough for her to stand on it, she takes a deep breath and takes a leap of faith, but she's too low to land on the ledge, it seems she miscalculated it. She almost steps on the trap while she's hanging on the ledge, we are all sighing with relief, Emma immediately pulls herself up and stands on the ledge. She looks at me from the distance and I can see she's grinning and smiling at me as if she wants to apologize for almost making a mistake.

She's almost reaching the end of the path, she's standing on another ledge but a bit bigger than the previous one that she can walk and run on it now. She runs as fast as she can and then walks on the wall, when she knows that she can no longer run on the wall she jumps to the other side of the wall and put her right hand in the hole. The end is not that far from her, she just needs to pass 3 more traps but there's no other way for her to go there since the last few traps are a spike from the ground and arrows from the ceiling, the walls have no ledges or holes on them, not to mention that there's one trap that will make the ground falls with spikes underneath. If she activates that trap, it's hard for us to walk past through it since in the past they had to use two players and use one of them as a boost so the other one can pass that trap without activating it.

Everyone is so confused on why Emma is just hanging and taking her time on that wall, they have no idea and can't see from this far so I tell them what's going on. Kingstar is furrowing his forehead.

"Now what?"

I walk forward and turn around.

"I need you to give me a boost, Kingstar."

Everyone raises their eyebrows with a surprised expression, Kingstar without asking a single question walks toward me and then bends his knees while putting his hands in between. I smile and immediately jump and follow Emma's movements, everyone is speechless that I'm doing it better and faster than Emma as if I know where to go like the back of my hand. Emma is watching me coming toward her, she's impressed that I can do it better than her, in less than a minute I'm already hanging next to her. I look at her while smiling and raising my eyebrows, I tilt my head and look at the end of the path.

"Are you ready, Em? I will give you a boost and make sure you don't step on the last trap, yeah?"

Emma scoffs.

"I won't, let's do it."

I nod and then Emma grabs my hand then falls down, now she's hanging on my hand while I'm trying to swing her as fast and far as I can. Everyone is watching from afar and understands what we are going to do. I pull her to the back and I think it's time, I look at Emma and she nods with understanding. The moment I push my hand forward, Emma releases her hand from mine and flies toward the end of the path. She leans her body back then her upper body is bending forward and her face is in front of her knees like a far jump athlete. She lands on the ground and turns around, she smiles and grins happily and with excitement, she jumps while screaming happily.

"I did it!"

Everyone is screaming in joy that we both can hear their screams from here.
