Legacy of the Betelgeuse

We are standing near the Oasis, with the same people when we enter the dungeon for the first time. Kingstar is staring at the water while crossing his arms, the rest of them are also doing the same thing because ever since we did our first clear, they weren't able to clear it without me. Right now, even though the level cap is already 500 everyone is struggling to reach the cap, and not just that, the second phase of this dungeon is making it harder for them to clear it. The higher their levels and the gap between them and the other players' levels is, the harder for them to deal with their own doppelganger on the last boss.

Liu is staring at the sky and we are in the middle of the sandstorm, we barely able to see anything 10 meters in front of us and the wind is so loud that we are barely able to hear anything else but the sand is flying over us.

"Are you sure you want to do this, Trev? With only this many players with us?"

Everyone is looking at Liu who's staring at me while raising his eyebrows, I look at him and clear my throat.

"We are here not to clear the dungeon."

Everyone is furrowing their foreheads with confusion, Michael looks at me while tilting his head.

"What? Then why do you want us to help you get in the dungeon?"

I look at Ivonna and she immediately looks at them.

"Based on the information on the diary, there are clues around the Orion about the NPC that will be able to craft the materials into a godly item. One of the clues that are written in the diary is that I need to find a document or at least information from this dungeon. I wasn't sure at first but thanks to Trevor's help I now know that the clue is pointing at this dungeon."

Michael is humming with understanding and then Francesca is raising her eyebrows while pointing at the ground.

"So we need to find that document or information in those houses in the first stage?"

Ivonna is nodding with confidence.

"Yeah, that's why I need your help to get this document."

Kingstar is tilting his head while shrugging his mouth.

"What are waiting for then? We can't waste more time and we should start searching, let's go."

We all nod and dive into the water.

We are all immediately sliding down the hill and entering the houses to search for the documents. If we are looking at these thousands of houses in this area, it will take us at least a few days and it's as if everyone knows what they're looking for since they don't understand the language. The only one who can tell is Ivonna since she will receive the pop-up tab when she got the right document so we all decide to grab all the books and papers in all the houses then bring all of them to Ivonna.

(A few days later.)

Everyone is chilling in the room while staring at Ivonna who's busy looking at a pile of documents and books, everyone really wants to help but it will only be slowing her down. I'm staring at her and I was planning to help her out but she insisted to do it herself, everyone can't argue with it since they're not part of us. I'm amazed that everyone is so patient about this even though they have been doing nothing for the last few days in this dungeon. I guess they're okay with this since they might need this clue as well in the future and it's not wrong since the NPC is the only one who can craft all the godly items.

Ivonna is tossing the book while sighing, she rubs her face and I can tell that she's tired but she won't give up and decide to grab the document in front of her. The moment she holds the document, her exhaustion disappears immediately and she jolts from her seat. Everyone is startled and Ivonna is smiling happily while reading something in front of her, it seems that she got the right document. Everyone is surrounding her and want to look at the document as well, she shows it to everyone so they can remember the content of the document.

Ivonna smiles disappears as soon as she's done reading the notification, she says that it's missing a few pages. Everyone immediately throws away all the books since it's not necessary anymore and keeps the documents then start searching to help Ivonna. I'm not doing anything and just enjoying Grisell's snacks that she brought with her everywhere, I look at Grisell who's sitting next to me and munching the snacks.

"You're not going to help her?"

Grisell is shaking her head while staring at her snack.

"No, I don't think I should since I'm so small compared to them, I'm only going to be in their way. I even might die from getting trampled by them, so I'm just going to chill here and enjoy my snack. What about you? Are you still not going to offer your help?"

I shake my head while staring at Ivonna.

"She's doing fine on her own, I'm not needed anymore, or at least for now."

Grisell is looking at Ivonna and then she is snickering.

"I'm happy that she found you, Trev, you're the only one who can make her happy and I'm serious about it. I have never seen her like this, and we were all surprised when we came back to the mansion that her face was lit and she showed us her genuine happy smile not because we came back, but because she has been living her life with happiness."

I look at Ivonna and I kind of understand what Grisell meant by that. Suddenly Ivonna stands up and crosses her arms with confusion, the others are staring at her while raising their eyebrows. A pile of documents and papers is laying on the floor around her but then she tells them that she doesn't find the rest of the document from those piles that everyone has collected. Kingstar is asking everyone if they're sure that they already brought everything and everyone answers that they brought everything without leaving a single paper. I guess it's time for me to explain to them that the rest of the information isn't in this stage, I stand up and approach them.

"You can't find the rest of the documents, Ivy?"

Ivonna looks at me and nods.

"Yeah, I didn't get any notification from all these documents."

Queenstar is crossing her arms while staring at the piles.

"We are not sure if we missed a few of them because they're hidden in the houses, and the problem is we have no idea who brought the right document and from which houses. We can't waste our time by searching all the houses again since it will take days."

I'm humming with understanding and looking at them.

"I don't think anyone here is making a mistake, I believe the rest of the document that we are looking for is not in this place, or at least not in this stage."

Everyone is furrowing their forehead and then Kingstar is crossing his arms while nodding up.

"If it's not in this stage, then where? I don't remember there's any houses or rooms with piles of books and documents on the other stages."

Leo is rubbing his chin.

"There's one."

Everyone is looking at him and then he looks at them while tilting his head and raising his eyebrows.

"Remember the Hide and Seek stage? We were teleported to a place that looked similar to this stage. There are so many houses over there and I believe the rest of the documents might be in there, but I'm not sure if we will be able to find them since we don't have enough time and the chance that all of us be able to survive until we reach that stage, not to mention that we will be hunted by Atraxthes during that time so it's quite hard to find something while being stealthy at the same time."

Everyone is nodding in agreement, Kingstar walks toward a chair and takes a seat, he sighs while shaking his head.

"It's impossible to do this with only this many players, remember how hard it was for us to even reach that stage? We lost more than half of the players back then and to be honest I was lucky enough to not get caught by doing nothing but hiding. Now we have to look around those houses and find documents? It's impossible, I don't mind dying so many times and dying for this cause, the problem is if some of us died and held the right documents, we can't tell since they will be outside of the dungeon and the documents will disappear."

I look at him and smirk.

"Don't worry about that, just follow my lead and we will be able to get the documents."

Kingstar stares at me for quite a while then he looks at the rest of us, everyone just shrugging or nodding, he stands up while sighing.

"Alright, lead us the way."
