Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

149 The Past Illuminates The Future

AN: Pop some corn and enjoy

“Why make such a dramatic entrance? You could have just appeared here yourself.” Lucifer said with a devilish grin as he vanished and appeared a few meters away.

“And risk getting caught and killed by you and your greedy fellows? Jeez, I thought you had grown a brain cell or two but I guess I was wrong.” Kai’s voice echoed around the entire dungeon as he spoke through the lance.

The aura surrounding Zack’s body also belonged to him. The black-haired boy currently stood in front of his friends while barely keeping his sanity.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ The Phoenix, who he had thought of as an extremely overpowered creature, had been defeated in a single voice. Lucifer now sounded as though he was aware of Kai being stronger than him or something and was choosing his words carefully.

This made Zack wonder how strong both of them actually were if compared in levels. Would their levels be above nine thousand?

‘Zack, I can’t protect you for a long time so when the time comes, look inside your heart and find your purpose. That should unlock another special ability of Gugnir and you can use that to escape.’

Kai’s said telepathically as Gugnir hovered in front of Zack. The lance suddenly started glowing, synchronizing itself with another item in Zack’s inventory.

‘Now!’

Zack immediately closed his eyes and tried to focus. Gugnir on the other hand exploded with the power of a thousand flashbangs, literally burning Lucifer’s body.

Yet the angel only seemed annoyed as his body tried to heal.

‘What is my purpose for living now? Having fun? Enjoying life?’ Zack thought hurriedly as he could feel his time running out. However, a random thought made his entire body calm down. ‘Seeing back, I have been spending all of my time with the new people I met.’

‘I just thought about saving Mia in both my previous life and the beginning of this life but since then, I have started thinking about keeping others safe too. I even risked using Chastiefol to go and save Emma.’

With a deep breath, Zack slowly opened his eye. Lucifer’s entire body had recovered as he stared into the boy’s eyes and this time, he felt that something was wrong.

Eirias started glowing in Zack’s hand, this time with its own flames despite no one belonging to the dark side being near Zack.

“My purpose for living is to continue living till the end with those who I befriended and let get close to my heart.”

He spoke aloud as the sword’s flames covered his entire body. Words suddenly started appearing inside his head.

“When the light of the past guides the hand of the future,

The darkness will once again make its return.

For all that has turned into dust and ashes,

Will once again rise and burn.

For all the blood spilled,

The cries of anger will be instilled.

The dead will no longer stay dead,

Reality will just be a cracked mirror in the face of the wicked.

For such a catastrophe will come sooner,

When the past illuminates the future.”

Instinctively, Zack threw Eirias at Lucifer, very well expecting the angel to dodge it. But he was wrong.

It looked as though the sword had jumped the space between the duo as it directly pierced Lucifer’s stomach. The blue flames raged around his body, slowly turning white.

“You will reject heaven and fall too. She didn’t die because of the villain or evil. She died to awaken your powers and to make you loyal to heaven. Go search the past Lucifer for the one you loved.”

Zack spoke the exact same words that had made Lucifer stop his rampage. The funny thing was that he had died in the fight midway through meaning that he had no idea what happened to Lucifer in his past life.

Despite that, he said those words and closed his eyes.

‘So this is how it is huh.’ Zack thought with a sad smile as he read the details of the skill. He knew that if he used it, his mana would be sealed yet there was no other choice.

With the same smile, he used Gugnir’s new ability.

The lance lurched forward and touched Zack’s forehead with its tip. A bright blue glow passed through its tip, passing right into Zack’s body.

[ Timeline will be forwarded by six months. ]

[ Date chosen: 10th February 2070 ]

“My birthday huh,” Zack muttered as Gugnir’s glow covered everyone present around him, thus taking them six months in the future.

“He is so troublesome.” Kai sighed as he sat down with his back facing against the trunk of a tree.

He had overused his powers to help Zack, thus bringing him to the notice of a few big gods. He knew that it was a bad thing yet he didn’t mind helping Zack, especially when he heard those words.

‘Those were the same words prophesied a thousand years ago,’ He thought about the black-haired boy. ‘Are you perhaps the one spoken there?’

He then paused remembering the things he had long since tried to forget.

‘Are you the one who will end both of our sufferings?’

In a tower situated far above the heights of the world…

A man calmly sipped his tea as a monitor screen was present in front of him on a desk. Continuous “Nya~” and “Ahh!” sounds could be heard as the man had his eyes fixated on the screen.

He suddenly felt a presence overlooking the place and changed the monitor screen to show the view of the earth. A split second later, another figure appeared in the room.

The figure was a beautiful woman with black hair while her face was hidden behind a veil.

“Boss, were you just watching something else?” Her voice sounded nullified meaning that it was impossible to recognize it despite hearing it multiple times.

“Yes, I was. Any problem?” The man asked while raising one eyebrow as the woman shook her head.

“I am just here to tell you that the pieces have fallen into place. Will you support heaven or not?” The woman asked in a slightly sharp tone as the man sighed.

“Why would I support someone who killed my entire family. I would rather support him and win.”

“I think the same.” The woman replied before bowing down and vanishing into the shadows.

The man on the other hand rubbed his chin while staring at the Earth on his monitor. Unknown to most gods and humans, a certain individual had just jumped into the future alongside a few more humans.

The world too had changed as the phenomena had once again passed over the entire world. Yet this time, the pieces had fallen into place despite what heaven and the gods were telling themselves.

‘Just wait and see. The Pendragon will appear and end you all once and for all. Then, I will obtain my revenge.’

The man thought while clenching his fist as he started looking at a certain black-haired boy.
