Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

148 These Two MOFOs [Part 2]

For the second time, Zack’s eyeballs fell out of their sockets as he wondered whether he would be able to get them again.

He had heard of the legend of the Vermilion Phoenix numerous times as it was also called the Vermilion Bird of the south.

Such a creature was immortal in every sense of the word possible but the only problem was that it regressed every time it died.

Zack immediately pressed yes as the Phoenix screeched once again before passing straight through Zack’s body.

‘And that kid is what you call overpowered.’ A voice echoed inside his mind as Zack suddenly felt two wings tearing through his back and opening behind him.

Due to the nature of flames, the wings were pure blue and looked like the wings of an angel he had seen in an anime (refer to novel cover).

His hair too underwent as they changed to flaming blue shortly followed by his eyes. His entire body brimmed with power as Eirias glowed brightly in his hand.

The sword got engulfed in Zack’s blue fire instead of its own fire as it brimmed with power.

‘A sword that burns with the will of its wielder while being lethal to those from the dark side. A spear that can turn back time. At last, a spear that can change its form and summon someone like you.’

Zack thought silently as he heard a chuckle. The Phoenix seemed amused by his words.

‘I owe my life to the true wielder of Eirias. If not for him, I would have died the moment I was born. I wouldn’t be trying to save you if I didn’t want that sword to fall into the hands of the so-called gods of heaven.’

‘Maybe you could have sugarcoated that.’ Zack replied while staring at the two eyeballs.

It was hard to tell but they looked as though they were terrified of his new powers.

Zack wasted no time as he lurched forward with Eirias in his hand.

[ A new skill has been temporarily unlocked ]

[ World End Slash: Releases a slash that uses a portion of the user’s soul to generate power. If the entire soul is used, an entire world can be cut easily. The used portion of the soul can be regenerated. ]

‘That’s the only skill I can provide you so don’t use more than 1 percent of your soul.’ The Phoenix warned as Zack activated the skill and chose one percent of his soul.

He swung Eirias towards the right eyeball and a blue Phoenix moved out from the tip of the sword. It tore through the air and directly hit the right eyeball.

The flames burned the wings of the eyeball before killing it.

[ Exp has been shared with the party due to the large amount of exp. ]

[0)ᴠᴇʟ Zack’s original level shot up as he used the same attack again, thus losing a total of 2 percent of his soul.

‘Now, we leave.’ Zack suddenly felt the newfound power decrease by a bit as the Phoenix flew away.

His power decreased by half, turning his eyes back to purple but he still had the blue wings and hair.

The Phoenix bent down and looked at Zack’s three teammates to grab on to its claws. Emma was already used to it so she jumped and grabbed one of its claws.

Hayden and Lisa followed her example and too latched on to the Phoenix. They couldn’t believe that Zack was hiding such a trump card which made them look at their leader in a new light.

Lisa especially was happy that she had decided on siding with Zack the first time she saw him.

‘Don’t be so happy. If we follow the standards set by the top head, someone should be appearing… just now.’

As soon as the Phoenix finished his words, lightning struck down on the spot where the two eyeballs had been killed.

The group had long since left the place and were many kilometers away. The Phoenix planned to go ahead and enter the world of Hikari to shake their pursuer.

He had no idea who heaven had sent but it would most likely be someone extremely powerful.

‘Damn that sword. Why did Eirias appear at a time when things were already getting too difficult. Kai even had the guts to reveal Gugnir and its time abilities which makes me wonder how he even became a god.’

The Phoenix suddenly halted as he felt a familiar aura coming from the beach of the dungeon. Not only he but Zack too recognized the aura.

After all, the owner of the aura was the one who had killed him in his last life.

“So what do we have here. A Phoenix trying to help one of heaven’s most wanted escape. I guess you didn’t learn your lesson after what happened last time.”

A figure with wings suddenly appeared in front of them. He had two pure white wings coming out of his back combined with knee-length white hair tied in a ponytail.

His robes were clean, not a single spec of dust visible on the. His appearance completely contrasted the last time Zack had seen him.

“”Lucifer…””

Zack and the Phoenix said simultaneously which seemed to surprise the angel. Lucifer looked as though someone had just recognized him as an Oscar winner.

“Interesting…” He muttered as all of Zack’s companions suddenly fell unconscious. The Phoenix gritted his teeth as he placed them on the ground before flying behind Zack.

His eyes focused on Lucifer’s face while deeming what his next move would be.

“We had been thinking of removing you anyways but now that you have given us a solid reason, we wouldn’t hurt killing you and seeing your powers regress.” In the blink of an eye, Lucifer appeared in front of the Phoenix’s face and stared into his eyes.

“So you desire to meet that person once again alongside his companions. Sorry but that is impossible, Vermilion chicken. See you in a few years.” Lucifer then flicked the Phoenix’s head as the bird went flying back.

His wings burst into flames before the entire Phoenix vanished into ashes. Zack’s mouth was agape as his powers vanished with the death of his guardian.

But even with his powers, Zack didn’t think he would be able to beat Lucifer. The true pressure of the angel’s powers fell on Zack’s body as he decided to use Gugnir’s self reverse move.

The blue lance appeared in his right arm and started glowing. Zack felt his body being devoid of pressure as Lucifer narrowed his eyes.

“So the rumors are true. That makes you-” He began saying but was cut off by the lance. It was touching his throat, emitting an aura of the same caliber.

“Now, who told you could freely do whatever you want with my subordinate?”
