Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

134 Flames Of Samsara

‘He looks like a madman…’ Emma thought while hitting the undead from afar. She too had unlocked a new skill from continuously hitting and killing a few undead.

But compared to Zack, she was just a small fish in the ocean. He had already managed to kill almost a hundred undead using his sword and blue flames.

Though they had started attacking back, their moments were slow and sluggish. Their swords would move slowly while they couldn’t dodge the attacks.

‘Unless he is doing that deliberately.’

Both Zack and Emma had the same thought after they had seen the reactions of fifty or so undead. They could tell that the warden was testing their abilities to see what they could do.

This didn’t stop Zack from going on a rampage. Due to his unique flames, the undead could not be summoned again.

Dark mages could use necromancy to some extent but if an Archmage used necromancy, he or she could reanimate the corpses as well as give the undead supreme regeneration.

Zack’s blue flames made sure that the undead he killed stayed down however, Emma was doing something similar too.

The next skill she had learned was ‘Moonlight’s embrace’. All of her arrows had passively turned into blessed arrows which meant that not only did they deal extra damage to dark creatures, she could also purify them.

So once her arrow hit the body of the undead, they would rumble down to dust. This made her arrows even more powerful than Zack’s attacks as she could basically use auto aim and walk around the place.

‘And people think I am overpowered.’ Zack thought with a sigh as another notification appeared in front of him.

[ Due to repetitive usage of the blue flames, a new skill has been created. ]

[ Skill Blue Fireball has been created. ]

[ Blue Fireball: A fireball made from blue flames.

Cooldown: none ]

“Fireball.” Zack then started ravaging multiple undead at once as the fireball flew through their ranks.

The warden continued to watch the massacre calmly while maintaining a poker face. His eyes were focused on the blue flames Zack was using as well as the arrows Emma was shooting.

“Looks like humanity has finally managed to make a great advance,” Yami said with a light chuckle as the last undead fell down.

Zack and Emma hadn’t noticed it but their chances of victory had shifted to fifty percent the moment they had started killing the undead.

Both of them had managed to gain two levels by killing the horde which put Zack at level 43 and Emma at level 40.

The black-haired boy was now number two on the leaderboard and was only one level away from taking the first spot.

‘The crown on my head will then turn golden.’ Zack thought as he stood beside Emma. Both of them were staring at Yami who was gazing at the open sky above them.

“In the end, humanity can’t beat those who had been alive for a much longer time.” Suddenly, a horrifying aura was released around the arena.

The aura was so dense and evil that it managed to dim the glow of the two pseudo legendary weapons.

Chances of winning: .00000000001

“You know, you could have saved us much more time if you had done that in the beginning,” Zack muttered while putting his weapons in the inventory. “But thanks to you, we have won this battle.”

On cue, the clouds in the sky parted apart. The temperature in the entire arena started rising as a giant Phoenix made its descent.

Yami’s poker face suddenly fell off as he looked at the level of power the Phoenix had.

‘Its… over nine thousand!’ His jaw unhinged silently as the bird glanced over and Zack and Emma.

‘This the dude you guys need dead?’ He asked through telepathy while yawning. The Phoenix had been expecting a huge fight yet he had been disappointed when he saw his opponent.

(A/N: I know I used it on many occasions in the past and the sudden switch might seem weird so I ask you guys to please bear this with me.)

Yami’s scepter started glowing as his aura retracted back. The archmage had realized that he had only one chance at victory and that was if he used all of his power to attack the Phoenix.

“Ambhi Kambhi Humba Umba Kahsi Jhus Hus Dhij Loma Kekw.” Suddenly, Yami felt all of his power vanishing from his body. The scepter in his hand started glowing slowly as Yami’s power-filled it.

“From the hand that destroys the light, I call upon you, of the wicked lord of darkness. Void Tempest!”

Yami immediately pointed his scepter towards the Phoenix and a black ray shot from the tip of the jewel embedded at the top of the tempest.

The Phoenix turned to look at the black ray directly hitting him directly in his eyes. A pillar of Darkness descended on the bright orange bird as dark clouds gathered in the sky.

The orange bird’s body started getting heavier as it got pushed to the ground. However, his eyes were focused on Zack who had taken Eirias out with a shocked expression.

‘No wonder he is so popular…’ The Phoenix’s eyes widened in surprise as he saw the blue flames dancing around the sword. He was reminded of its past and what he had seen back then.

‘Guess I will help them just a little bit.’ Suddenly, the Phoenix’s body turned to ashes while he appeared beside the pillar of light.

Yami’s jaw dropped down when he saw the bird flying freely beside the move he had used.

“H-How?!” He shouted at the bird who seemed to be smiling to itself.

Chances of victory: 110%

“Congratulations mortal. You have managed to destroy one of my clones that no human had been capable of doing for a long time. I acknowledge you to be worthy of the title you hold,” The Phoenix paused while looking at the pillar. But now, you die.”

[0)ᴠᴇʟ He pointed one of his wings in Yami’s direction and the corner of it caught fire. The flames were pure white in color but neither Yami nor the duo got the chance to look at them for a long time.

A fireball shot towards Yami at instantaneous speed and burned the archmage in the blink of an eye. His scepter too was burned along with him.

‘You guys can handle the rest.’ The Phoenix said through telepathy before it vanished in a flurry of flames.

The arena turned completely silent as Zack and Emma exchanged a look.

“Maybe you should have forced him to appear back at the spider cave. We could have saved so much time that way.” Emma muttered as she put her weapons back in the inventory.

“He wouldn’t have entered her domain anyways. Now, let’s go and see Hayden.” Zack spoke while looking at the snake statue.

A few words had appeared on top of the snake’s head which looked like the last words left behind by the warden.

“The ruler is dead because of you. May you be blessed with fortunes and don’t follow the path I did. Yami, the only dark archmage of the Eizenburgh kingdom.”

“Well, looks like he knew that day someone would come and defeat the ruler even in an absurd manner,” Emma muttered as the two of them stood over the statue.

A red button had also appeared above the words and since there was nothing left to do, they clicked it.

A column of light descended on them but before vanishing, three words echoed inside Zack’s mind.

“Flames Of Samsara.”
