Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

135 The New Ruler Of The Underworld [Part 1]

“This the guy?” Emma asked while raising an eyebrow as she and Zack stood beside an unconscious body.

“He looks like his father,” Zack muttered as the man lying on his feet had almost the same appearance as Puten Solanski.

The same gray hair shined on top of his head though his eyes were closed. He was still alive as Zack bent down and pinched his cheek.

“Well, this is Hayden Solanski.” He muttered while looking at the twenty-year-old man who was the heir of one of the biggest crime syndicates.

The same man was unconscious and defenseless. If this had happened in real life, Hayden would have been taken hostage to negotiate with his father.

“I guess we are gonna wait,” Emma muttered as she sat down and crossed her legs.

“We can try to forcefully wake him but that’s probably going to leave a bad impression,” Zack replied as he too sat beside Emma and stared at Hayden.

Despite his resemblance to his father, Hayden looked like an innocent soul when compared to the old man. Puten would burn a country if he felt that they were threatening him.

The Hayden in Zack’s memories would peacefully talk to the country and try to come to a solution.

‘I wonder if you are still that version or if you have changed.’

A few minutes later, Hayden’s eyes fluttered a little. He slowly opened his eyes to see two figures staring down at him.

They were none other than Zack and Emma who stood over Hayden while staring at his face. The latter blinked in confusion as he took in the duo’s appearance.

“Who are you?”

He asked while summoning a dagger below his hand. Neither of them noticed it as they were looking at Hayden’s face.

Unlike his father’s eyes, Hayden had green eyes that had a sparkle in them. Despite his age, he could have easily passed as a high school student.

[ He looks like a cute boy you would have a crush on.] Emma observed as she noticed Hayden’s right hand closed around something.

[ Would you have a crush on him though? ] Zack asked back as he looked at the edge of a dagger pointing below Hayden’s hand.

Neither of them said anything about it and let Hayden think that he had the element of surprise.

[ Nah, he isn’t my type. ]

[ Do I qualify as your type? ]

[ Mm, no comments. ]

After their personal exchange was over, they decided to ask Hayden a few questions.

“What was the last thing you remembered before passing out?” Zack asked as Hayden fell deep into thought.

“My memory is kind of hazy but I remember him leaving my body to enter Yami while saying that someone had managed to break the illusion of the first floor…” Hayden’s voice suddenly trailed off as the realization struck him. “You were the ones who did that?”

“Well, that’s correct,” Zack replied before he and Emma stood up. He then extended a hand towards Hayden.

The latter stared at it for a few seconds before grabbing it with his left hand and standing up.

“As for who we are, let me tell you from the beginning.” Zack then explained how the king of the Eizenburgh kingdom had dispatched them to look for him due to the oath.

The more he listened, the more Hayden felt relieved. He put the dagger back in his inventory as Zack finished the entire story.

“Then that means that I have to now go ahead and have an oath with the king. Well, I saw that in his memories but didn’t expect that I would be freed.” Hayden then fell deep into thought while Emma and Zack exchanged a look.

It was clear to them that Hayden was referring to the true ruler of the underworld. However, they were curious as to how he met him and got taken over.

“Hayden, would you mind telling us how you met the ruler and had your body handed over?” Emma asked politely as a sigh escaped the young’s man lips.

“It was because I was foolish enough to think that I could control an empire. That way, I could find a way to leave my old man behind,’ He looked at the duo with a smile. “I guess you both are familiar with my dad, Puten Solanski?”

“We had a lovely chat with him,” Zack replied with the same type of smile. “I must say that he is a polite and nice guy.”

“Imagine how nice he is to me. All he does is loot small cities and enjoy his time with his women. I am not even allowed to sleep without having anyone watching me.” Hayden suddenly paused as a chuckle escaped his lips. “That’s unrelated to this world. Let’s go out.”

Zack and Emma didn’t say anything as they quietly followed Hayden. He lead them to the west side of the room where he placed his hand on the solid iron wall.

A pillar of light descended on them as they appeared back at the arena. Hayden walked through the arena as though he had done it numerous times.

He touched the viper statue once with his hand which made another pillar of light descend on the trio.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ “Now, we can talk here,” Hayden said with a smile as the three of them appeared in an office. Judging from the quality of the items and stuff inside the office, it was clear that it belonged to him.

“So, should I start from the beginning?” Hayden asked as he calmly sat on a luxurious chair right behind a desk.

Zack and Emma took the seats in front of him as they nodded.

“Well, it all began when I first started playing Hikari and chose the light side.”

“You chose the light side?” Zack suddenly interrupted as he frowned internally.

In his previous life, Hayden had chosen the dark life due to his father pressuring him into it. That was why he had bought the Dark Knight job class book back at the library.

Zack had thought that he would give the job class book to Hayden and that would boost the former’s power a lot thus ending up making Zack’s guild and team stronger.

But now, he would have to change his plans.

“Well, I was almost forced to choose the dark side since my father expected me to extort the players. I decided against it at the last moment and instead decided that I would climb the ranks in the kingdom by building trust. And I got attacked when people read my name.

I wasn’t bothered by that but then I made the mistake of thinking that I can rule the underworld like my father.”

Hayden then went silent as he remembered the moment he had entered the black market through the dumpster. The man in the bricked-up room had taken him directly to the room he was currently sitting in.

He had then met the previous ruler of the place, an old sick looking man with his veins clearly visible. He had looked as though he would die the next moment. He narrated the entire thing before continuing.

“That man was the ruler’s last vessel before he entered my body.”
