You're My Only Star

Chapter 360 - Bite Marks

The couple checked out of the hotel late afternoon and went straight away to the airport to pick up Lu Xun's parents.

Afraid that someone was going to recognize them and called the reporters over, Song Xing Xing and Lu Xun both wore their masks to cover their faces.

Although there were a few people who did a double-take when they saw them, none of them seemed to recognize the couple.

After waiting in the arrival hall for a while, the couple finally appeared. A look of delight showed on their face when they the newlyweds.

"Mom, Dad," Both Song Xing Xing and Lu Xun greeted at the same time.

"You're here." Zhen Wen Yu pushed the trolley to her son and went to her daughter-in-law. "I told you that you guys didn't have to pick us up. Mom and Dad could grab a taxi home. It will be the same."

"Mom, it's fine."

Zhen Wen Yu let out a sigh. "I saw on the internet how those reporters were camping around the company and the residential area. How can it be fine?" She looked around and whispered, "What if someone recognized you? Mom is worried that those people would act aggressively and accidentally push you out."

"Well, Lu Xun is here to protect me."

Zhen Wen Yu gave her son a lookover. Seeing that her tall son was standing up straight with the trolley beside him, the frown on her face deepened.

If it was not because of his son's problem with his past, her daughter-in-law would not have to suffer. Thinking about Shi An Na made Zhen Wen Yu unhappy.

Lu Xun looked at his mother in puzzled.

Why does it feel as if his mother had some dissatisfaction towards him?

The women continued to chat.

Lu Xun watched his mother as she held his wife and walked towards the exit. Looking at them being so close together made him feel as if Song Xing Xing was her birth daughter instead. He wanted to complain but seeing that they had a good relationship, Lu Xun thought that this was a good thing.

One of the things that he was worried about was that his mother and wife had difficulties getting along well. Seeing them this way made him feel more at ease. With his parents doting on her, Song Xing Xing would not have to suffer now that she was married to him.

"What are you doing, spacing out?"

Lu Xun snapped out of his trance and saw that his father was looking at him. His father passed him his knapsack before he went to catch up with his wife.

The corner of his lips started to twitch.

Lu Xun could only carry the knapsack and pushed the trolley to the parking lot.

When they got to the vehicle, Zhen Wen Yu dragged her daughter-in-law to sit with her in the backseat.

Lu Jiang watched as his son stuffed their luggage into the cargo and noticed the overnight bag in the corner. "You went somewhere?"

"Mhm... Last night, there were a few people around the residential area. I took Xing Xing to stay somewhere else for the night."

Lu Jiang nodded.

He was unhappy that the group of reporters were persistent to snap a few pictures of his son and daughter-in-law. Fortunately, his son was still sensible and knew that he should protect his wife.

"How was your trip?" Lu Xun asked.

"It was alright. Your mother and I took advantage to mention your upcoming wedding and your uncles and aunts had promised to come."

Lu Xun nodded. " Tell them not to worry about transportation and their stay in Y City. I will arrange everything."

Lu Jiang nodded. This was also what he had planned to do.

"How long are you and mom going to stay in Capital City this time?"

"Your mother and I are planning to head back to C Country in a few days," Lu Jiang said. "Previously, I had to leave my work and come over to visit your in-laws to clarify your matter. I can't dump everything to my colleague."

"Have you got your tickets yet?"

Lu Jiang shook his head. "Help me to book a flight this Friday." He was about to say something else when he saw his son bent down to carry his luggage off the trolley. The front of his shirt draped low, revealing his collarbone. Lu Jiang saw the bite marks below Lu Xun's collarbone and his mind suddenly went blank.

"Dad?" Lu Xun called as he picked up the last luggage. "Go and sit in the car first. I can do this by myself. It will be over soon."

Lu Jiang coughed and looked away.

He recalled the overnight luggage in the cargo and understood what was going on. His son was not staying somewhere else to avoid the troublesome reporters. Instead, it was to fool around with Xing Xing as husband and wife.

Lu Jiang had also been young once and knew the excitement of newlyweds.

Lu Jiang slid into the passenger's seat and turned to look at his wife. His gaze fell on his daughter-in-law and Lu Jiang could not help but recall the bite marks.

His daughter-in-law looked gentle but unexpectedly, she can be fierce as well. He quickly looked away and wondered if he should be sharing this matter with his wife.

Fortunately, Song Xing Xing was unaware of what her father-in-law had seen and what was going on in his mind. Or else she would be embarrassed to death.

...

The sky had already turned orange by the time they arrived.

This time, there were fewer reporters hanging around the residential area as compared to yesterday.

A few of them tried to look into the vehicle but with the tinted windows, they could only peek through the windshield. Seeing that there were two men in the car, the reporters did not pay much attention to them.

Song Xing Xing led her parents-in-law inside the house as Lu Xun carried the luggage from the vehicle.

Auntie Wei came out from the kitchen and announced that dinner would soon be ready. Song Xing Xing went into the kitchen to look at the dishes that Auntie Wei had prepared. When she came out, she could not help but notice that her parents-in-law were looking at her strangely.

Father Lu lowered his head as if avoiding her gaze. Meanwhile, Mother Lu looked at her with a knowing smile.

This.... what was going on?
