You're My Only Star

Chapter 102 - Lost His Reason

Special Assistant Bei Yuan could sense that his boss was in a very good mood.

President Lu Xun had shown up at the office with his face full of smiles. As he came to deliver a few documents, President Lu Xun had even complimented the tie that Bei Yuan was wearing.

During the meeting, President Lu Xun had noticed that someone had made a mistake in the report. However, instead of reprimanding the manager, President Lu Xun had merely passed the documents and asked the manager to make his amendment.

At the thought that his boss was still in a very good mood, Bei Yuan knocked on the president's door and entered with another batch of files. He was planning to let the President look at those documents while he was still in a good mood.

Or else, who knew if President Lu was going to escape his work and run around to do something else.

When Bei Yuan entered his office, Lu Xun was in the middle of a phone call. Lu Xun motioned his assistant to put those documents on the table before he continued to chat with his sister.

A while ago, Lu An Ran and her little family had left Capital City and headed to C Country. The students would start a new semester soon and Professor Jia, her husband, could not leave the university for too long.

As the two siblings continued to fill in each other about their life, Lu Xun could hear from the other line that his nephew, Jia Xuan, had returned from his school.

"An Ran, let me talk to Jia Xuan for a while."

Lu An Ran walked over to her son and passed the phone over. "Jia Xuan, your uncle wanted to talk to you."

The little boy put down his bag on the sofa and took the phone from his mother. Jia Xuan pressed the phone to his ear and spoke, "Hello? Uncle?"

"Did you just returned from school?" Lu Xun continued to ask his nephew a few things about his school before he went straight to the point. "Jia Xuan, do you still remember the game that you had taught me to play?"

"Un. Uncle, are you still playing that game?"

"I still look at it when I have the chance," Lu Xun said. His lips pursed into a thin line, knowing that he was telling a lie to his nephew. "Jia Xuan, did you remember that sister you met in Capital City? The one who you saw playing 'Legend of the Sky'."

"I remember."

"Have you found out her ID name?"

"Uncle, don't mention this matter to me." Jia Xuan let out a heavy sigh. "After school started my mom would not let me play games anymore and had insisted for me to study. I haven't gone online ever since we have returned to C Country. I haven't got the chance to play with my idol."

Lu Xun lowered his gaze, knowing that he still had no information about Song Xing Xing ID name.

All of a sudden, he seemed to recall his conversation with that player in the game. That player was kind enough to teach him a little bit about the game.

"Jia Xuan, why haven't you teach me about the auto-battle function?"

Jia Xuan let out a gasp. "Uncle, how long have you been playing that game? How much have you leveled up after I left Capital City?"

"I haven't played that much," Lu Xun lied. Anyway, as the uncle, he needed to set a good example for his nephew. Lu Xun let out a cough and spoke, "I only rose to a few levels."

"Then, uncle, you should know that you will only get to use that auto-battle function once you have reached a certain level," Jia Xuan spoke. "Last time, your level was too low for me to teach you about this function."

Of course, Lu Xun had no idea what his nephew was talking about.

After all, he had purchased a high-ranked account and had abandoned the account that he had set up with his nephew's help a while ago to play the game.

However, this was not something that he could admit to his nephew.

The uncle and nephew continued to chat a little bit before they hung up.

Afterward, Lu Xun started to go through the documents on his table. A faint smile would appear on his lips as he glanced at the time. Time seemed as if it was moving slowly as he was looking forward to picking up Song Xing Xing from work.

Lu Xun continued to be in a good mood as he recalled the dazed look on Song Xing Xing's expression in the morning.

At this time, the phone on his desk started to ring.

Lu Xun glanced at the screen and saw that it was Zhang Yu Han. Thinking that his friend had an important matter to talk about, Lu Xun quickly slid his finger on the screen.

"Yu Han?"

"Hmm…" His friend's deep voice could be heard from the other line. "Lu Xun I have good news for you."

Lu Xun leaned on his chair and stretched his body. "What is it?"

"That person that you have asked me to find…" Zhang Yu Han paused. "I heard that she has been found."

The smile on Lu Xun's face stiffened. "You mean, Miss Bai Zhi? You have found her?"

"Is there anyone else that you have asked me to find?"

"You managed to find her? So fast?"

There was a brief pause on the other line. "You asked me to find this person as soon as I can. Of course, I have to ask for a few favors from my Granduncle and find Miss Bai. But Lu Xun, why do I feel as if you don't want this woman to be found now? Did you change your mind? I thought that this woman is a dangerous person?"

Lu Xun took a deep breath to calm down. "No. It's good that you have found Miss Bai."

"Then, what do you think we should do to this woman?"

"Just do whatever you think would be appropriate. Make sure she won't be able to return to Capital City again."

Lu Xun continued to exchange a few words with his friend. When the call ended, Lu Xun was unable to hide his frustration. He could not decide whether Zhang Yu Han had given him good news or a bad one.

He did not expect that Bai Zhi would be found this quick.

Now that they have found that woman, he no longer has the reason to get closer to Song Xing Xing. How was he supposed to pursue her now?
