Wedding Agreement With CEO

Chapter 78 - CHAOTIC

Chaotic. That's what Ellena's face looks like right now. Puffy and red eyes made the appearance of the famous CEO's wife look messy. However, it still does not reduce the level of beauty.

After Lucas put a change of clothes for Ellena in front of the bathroom, he immediately walked out of the room. He was sure that Ellena would never want to come out of the bathroom, if he was still in the room.

"What are you doing, Elle?" Briana asked when Ellena suddenly sat beside her.

Seeing the confusion clearly visible on Ellena's face, of course, Briana could immediately guess that something had happened to her daughter.

"I'm okay, Ma'am." Ellena whispered, forcing a little smile.

However, the inner bond of a mother to her child certainly cannot be deceived. Briana couldn't just believe Ellena's confession, while what she saw was very different.

"You have a problem with your husband?" Briana tried to determine what was bothering her.

Ellena's defenses collapsed. No matter how hard she tried to hold back, in fact she still couldn't contain the sadness. Her eyes began to glaze over again with a dry mouth that seemed unable to speak.

"No, Ma'am." Ellena whispered in a slightly heavy tone.

Briana forced a smile, while observing Ellena's face with some pity. "You are my only daughter. If you have a problem, you can tell me about that." He said, holding Ellena's hand.

Ellena was silent for a minutes while thinking as if searching for the most appropriate answer. "I'm just sad to see you continue like this, when will you get better?"

Ellena rushed to hug Briana who was sitting on the bed. Instantly the tears began to fall one by one, but she swiftly wiped them away.

Brianna smiled again. Even though Ellena is trying hard to hide her current problem, her mother can still tell that Ellena is really not okay. She stroked Ellena's back so gently, just to give her a sense of calm and security.

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me." Briana replied trying to balance Ellena, even though she knew that wasn't what was bothering Ellena right now, but there was something else she didn't know exactly what the problem was.

At least Ellena could calm her feelings a little, after she hugged her mother. The most comfortable place that had always been an escape when she was sad and hurt. A mother's warm embrace does have extraordinary magical power for her.

She stretched the hug, after successfully wiping the tears that almost rolled down her cheeks perfectly. She then forced a smile back while looking at her mother's sad face.

"I'm going to feed you. I know you haven't had breakfast." She said as she took a plate of food that she had brought for her mother.

Briana smiled, although in her heart she was very hurt to see Ellena who was trying to hide the sadness in front of her. However, besides that, she feels very proud of Ellena who is always strong in facing every problem that always comes and goes.

Briana, who has spent almost half a century in the world, must have swallowed so much of the bitterness of life. It's no wonder that her daughter, who is growing more and more mature, is also experiencing the same thing. It's just that seeing Ellena like that, she also couldn't be stronger than when she was facing her own problems.

It's sad to see her daughter hurt like that. Maybe she could spill that sadness in front of Ellena, but she never would do it. It was enough that she had made Ellena's life difficult and had to endure sadness since childhood, she didn't want to make Ellena even more sad just because saw her sad or crying.

"Have your husband and brother had breakfast?" Briana asked in the middle of Ellena feeding her.

Ellena was silent for a moment, she didn't even know they had breakfast or not. Since this morning's drama with Lucas, she hasn't had a chance to meet them. Neither Martin nor Lucas, no one appeared in front of her. It was a stroke of luck for Ellena, who didn't really want to meet anyone, especially Lucas.

I don't know where Lucas went, who suddenly disappeared from the room, after giving her a change of clothes.

"Yes, Ma'am." Ellena replied simply not wanting to worry her.

"You alone?" Briana asked again.

Ellena looked at her mother, though a little doubtful. "I'll have breakfast after this, Mom." She said which was only answered with a smile.

Silence. Briana had nothing more to ask. However, the pair of brown beads were still focused on looking at Ellena who was busy feeding her.

"I think your husband is very kind." Briana whispered after a while they just spent time in silence.

It suddenly made Ellena slightly looked up and was stunned for a moment. It wasn't a question her mother asked her, but she knew that her mother demanded an answer to that statement.

"Yes, Ma'am. Lucas is very kind." Ellena replied as she lowered her head and focused back on the plate she was holding, as if giving the attitude that she didn't want to talk too much about Lucas.

Previously she had also thought the same thing as Briana thought. However, not now. After last night's incident, she began to spin her thoughts about Lucas so that she felt sure that Lucas wasn't a good man.

Yes, how could she crown her husband as a good man, while Lucas had snatched her chastity when she unconscious state. Isn't that rape? Ah, remembering it all, it really hurt her.

"Are you sure?" Again Briana's question made Ellena silent for a moment. That questioning gaze forced Ellena to give an answer.

"Of course I'm sure." Ellena forced a smile again, just wanting to hide the lie inside her.

"You know? Even Lucas intends to send Martin to study abroad," said Ellena, which suddenly made Briana's eyes widen, because she had just found out about the news.

"Aren't you kidding?" Briana tried to confirm her daughter's statement.

"Yes. It's just that Martin refuses and doesn't want to continue studying anywhere. He intends to work after graduating from school later." Ellena explained, starting to look normal, although the feelings in her heart were still the same.

"Isn't it too far?" Briana was starting to feel worried and wasn't ready to let her son go that far.

"Yeah, I think so, but Lucas is still adamant about enrolling Martin into Harvard University, even though he doesn't care about Martin's refusal." Ellena handed her a drinking glass, after she finished feeding her mother.

Briana took a sip of the drinking water until she finished half a glass, then gave the tube-shaped object to Ellena again.

"It's very hard to be away from that child." Briana whispered, pensively thinking about the things that made her worry, if Martin managed to study abroad.

Yes, of course she was also worried about her fate. After living far from Ellena, she thought it would be hard for her to live far away from Martin. How would he spend her days, if there were no children to accompany her?

Ah, just imagining it was pathetic, especially if she really had to live life alone.

In the middle of their conversation, suddenly the bedroom door opened which suddenly made Briana wake up from her daydream. Martin came into the room carrying a large black backpack. It certainly caught the attention of Ellena and her mother.

Martin walked up to the two great women in his life. However, before he managed to get close, Ellena had already gotten up and approached the young man.

"Martin, where are you going with such a big bag?" Martin's steps stopped, right at the end of his mother's bed, when Ellena was in front of him.

"I have to go right now, Sis," replied Martin.

"But where to go?" Ellena stared in wonder why Martin would suddenly leave the house.

"Going back to the village, Sis. I just got the news that the graduation announcement schedule is getting faster, coincidentally the schedule is tomorrow," explained Martin.

"Why are you just saying it now?" Ellena regretted to her younger brother.

"I just got a call from a schoolmate." Martin informed him. "Can I leave Mother here for a while?" He asked then.

"Of course you can. Did you forget that your mother is also my mother?" replied Ellena while putting on an emotional expression.

Yes, of course Ellena was touched by Martin's attitude that was so worried about her mother. She did not expect that Martin, who incidentally was not her biological son, was very worried about her mother.

"Yes, I know, but you now have a husband, so—"

"No worry. Even though I already have a husband, I will still take care of Mother for us," concluded Ellena, who had already guessed her younger brother's worries.

"Okay, I trust you, Sis."

Martin approached Briana who was still sitting in the same place as before. He landed his body next to his mother, then held hands while staring intently at the middle-aged woman.

"Mother, I'm sorry that I had to go to the village before you fully recovered. Would you mind if I stayed for a while? Just a few days. After my business is done, I promise to come here again for you," said Martin at length.

Briana flashed a smile, but her expression couldn't lie. There was a look of sadness there. Not because she didn't want to be left by her son in the house, but because she couldn't be with Martin as she waited for the tense days of determination during the three years she'd struggled.

"It's okay, Son. I'm sorry for not being able to accompany you," Briana replied a little sadly. "But you need to know one thing, my mother's prayers are always with you." He added, smiling wider.

"Thank you, Ma'am." replied Martin who also had a sad expression on his face.

"Yes, we will always wish you the best. I hope you graduate with a very satisfactory score," said Ellena as she approached them and held Martin's shoulder.

Martin turned and rubbed the back of Ellena's hand that was placed on his shoulder. "Thank you, Sis.." He said quietly.
