Chapter 58 - LUCAS IS SICK

"Lucas, what happened to you?" Ellena was surprised to find Lucas still lying on the bed.

"Your face is so pale. What's wrong with you?" Ellena put her hand on Lucas' forehead. Meanwhile, Lucas was still silent with a body that looked very weak.

"Lucas, his temperature is very hot. You seem to have a fever. We should go to the doctor. You wait a minute, I'll get ready first." Ellena was just about to leave that place. However, Lucas quickly withdrew her hand.

"No need, Ellena. I'm fine, just need some rest." Lucas whispered with one hand holding his stomach.

"What's wrong with your stomach?" Ellena asked as she crouched down beside Lucas' bed.

"It's okay. You stay here, accompany me." Lucas replied as he tightened his grip.

Ellena's heart thumped again at the feeling of a firm, yet soft touch in her hand. She tried her best to neutralize those feelings, because she didn't have the heart to leave Lucas in such a condition.

"Lucas, I'll get you some breakfast. Can you let go of my hand first?" asked Ellena trying to escape.

"No! Didn't you hear? I told you, you're still here, so don't try to run from me!" refused Lucas firmly.

"But you have to eat, Lucas. You wait a minute, I won't be long!" Ellena tried to get her hand out of Lucas's. However, Lucas' hand was strong enough for her to just throw it away.

"Isn't there a maid in this house? Then why would I hire a maid, if you have to do all the work?" Lucas protested while glaring at Ellena.

Ellena snorted harshly. Apparently, this time she couldn't avoid Lucas' arrogance. However, if she stays in that position for too long, her heartbeat can become even more chaotic and she must somehow control it.

Ellena also called and asked Joana to bring breakfast to Lucas' room. Meanwhile, she was still sitting on the floor waiting for Joana to bring a breakfast for Lucas.

"Elle, you're sitting here!" Lucas asked while shifting his body slightly to give access so that Ellena could sit beside him.

"No need, I'm just here!" Ellena refused who immediately received a piercing glare from Lucas.

"Okay." Ellena sighed, then moved onto the bed and sat down next to Lucas.

Meanwhile, Lucas still didn't want to let go of Ellena's hand from his grip. He stared at the face of the woman who was now sitting beside him with the body position facing the other way. He studied the woman's face carefully. Apparently, Ellena is more beautiful, when viewed from the side like that. A smile appeared on his face. It seemed he was very happy to be accompanied by Ellena in a sick condition.

Realizing Lucas who had been staring at her, Ellena tried to lower her head. Really, for the umpteenth time he managed to be embarrassed. Maybe now her face was like a boiled shrimp, red with embarrassment. Ah, Lucas really has made her unable to move one bit.

Only the heartbeat that every second she could feel. For some reason Lucas' touch felt so soft, it made her feel comfortable. Are rich people's hands always soft like that?

"Have you had breakfast?" Lucas' voice suddenly made Ellena look up, then turned to him.

Ellena only responded to Lucas' question with a shake of her head. She didn't want to appear nervous in front of Lucas, so she was very reluctant to speak.

"We'll have breakfast together," Lucas whispered as he brushed some of the hair that looked a little messy and covered Ellena's face.

Ellena was even more stunned by the gentle treatment from Lucas, even more so when her gaze caught a faint smile on Lucas' face. Ah, that felt so romantic to her.

In the midst of their activities, suddenly Joana came bringing Lucas breakfast. Ellena asked Joana to put the food on the nightstand, because Lucas was still holding her hand and she couldn't take the food directly.

"Lucas, can you let go of my hand? How can I feed you if you keep holding my hand like this?" said Ellena after Joana left the room.

Lucas sucked in a smile, before he decided to respond to Ellena. "Okay." He said as he let go of Ellena's hand from his grip.

"Can you sit down?" Ellena asked later, when she realized that Lucas had been lying down all this time.

"I don't know, my body feels really weak, Elle," Lucas replied, shaking his head.

Ellena was silent for a moment, staring at Lucas' condition. This time it seemed Lucas was telling the truth. The man's body did look very weak, I don't know what had happened to him.

"I will help you." Ellena came closer to Lucas, then tried to lift her head and help her husband to sit back on the bed.

Realizing their very close position, Lucas actually took advantage of the situation to stare at Ellena so closely. However, he also kept trying to lift his body, to make it easier for Ellena to help him.

"Sshh ...." Instantly Lucas let out a groan while holding his stomach, after he managed to change his body position into a sitting position.

"What happened to you?" Ellena immediately put on a panicked expression. "Your stomach hurts?" She asked, looking down at Lucas' stomach.

"Just a little. You don't have to worry too much about me." Lucas replied.

"Okay, I'll feed you. Hopefully after breakfast, your stomach will get better." Ellena grabbed the plate from the nightstand and started her work.

She seemed to feed Lucas repeatedly. Even though it was a little slow, at least Lucas didn't refuse the food.

"You eat too, Elle." Lucas asked in the middle of his breakfast.

"Later." Ellena answered curtly, then scooped up the food and put it in Lucas' mouth.

"Lucas ...." Ellena hung up as if feeling a little doubtful.

"Why?" Lucas looked sadly at Ellena's face.

"Hmm ... is it because of the food at the warteg yesterday that your stomach hurts like that?" asked Ellena doubtfully.

Lucas was silent for a moment, before he finally said, "I think so."

Ellena suddenly rolled her eyes. If it really was caused by the food at 'Warteg' yesterday, she really would feel very guilty for making Lucas sick. She knew very well that Lucas was not used to such food.

Maybe it's because Lucas' stomach hasn't been able to adapt to the simple food in 'Wateg', so it's only natural that his stomach hurts like that.

Ellena immediately stopped what she was doing, then looked at Lucas.

"Lucas, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have forced you to eat at 'Warteg'." Ellena said with a regretful expression.

"Never mind, Elle. I'm fine." Lucas said as if he didn't want to worry Ellena.

"After eating, I'll take you to the doctor." Ellena whispered as she handed Lucas another spoonful of food.

"No, Elle. I'll just rest at home." Again, Lucas refused Ellena's invitation.

"But it's dangerous if your stomach ache is left alone. What will happen if it gets worse?" annoyed Ellena as she raised her voice.

"Why do you care so much about me? Wouldn't it be better if I was sick?"

Lucas' question instantly made Ellena dumbfounded for a moment. How could that man ask a question that Ellena herself was confused by the answer to. In fact, she didn't know the exact reason why she cared so much about Lucas. Just as a human sense, maybe that's true. However, for some reason she was so worried about Lucas' current condition?

"You didn't answer my question?" Lucas asked which suddenly made Ellena gasp.

"O-of course, I care." The nervous answer that came out of Ellena's mouth instantly made Lucas smile faintly. However, only for a moment. The smile suddenly faded again as Ellena said, "But care about myself, not you!"

Lucas raised an eyebrow for a moment. He was indeed a little annoyed at Ellena's answer. However, as much as possible he did not show his annoyance. "Why is that? I'm the one who's sick, why are you the one you're worrying about?" He asked in surprise.

"Because if you're the one who's sick, I'll be the one in trouble myself. So, I think it would be better if you weren't sick, because I don't have to bother taking care of you like this." Ellena snapped, which suddenly made Lucas roll his eyes so sharply.

"You?" Lucas seemed to be licking his lips. "How dare you say that in front of me? Am I that bad in your eyes?" He snapped, rolling his eyes.

Different from before, this time Ellena looked more casual in the face of Lucas' piercing gaze. In fact, before that gaze repeatedly made her shrink and feel afraid.

I don't know what made Ellena so brave to say that in front of Lucas directly. She seemed to have no worries and fears if Lucas was angry with her.

"I'm surprised at you, Lucas ...." Ellena paused for a moment. "You're sick, but you can still be angry like that." She added in a slightly sarcastic tone.

"What do you care, if I get angry like this, huh?" Lucas lifted his back from the back of the bed, then straightened his seat.

"Why are you so angry like this? Are rich people like you always sensitive to trivial things?" Not wanting to lose, Ellena also tried to raise her voice, because she was annoyed with Lucas' attitude that suddenly changed.

"You're annoying, Elle!" Lucas cursed while looking away in any direction.

"You're annoying too, Lucas!" replied Elena, pouting her lips. "Never mind, if you want to be angry like this, you better eat your own breakfast. I'm sorry!" Ellena put the dinner plate on Lucas' lap. However, just as she was about to leave, Lucas' hand held her again.

"Where are you going?" Lucas asked, staring blankly at Ellena's face. "Finish your work!" He insisted then.

"You've recovered, haven't you? So eat yourself. I'm going to take a shower!" snapped Elena not caring. However, how could she leave, if Lucas' hand didn't let go.

"I don't like repeating my words!" Lucas sharpened his gaze. This time he was so serious in showing his anger that it made Ellena shrink back.

"You're so spoiled, Lucas. I feel sorry for you.. You'd better find a wife soon, so after we separate someone will take my place as soon as possible."
