"Hello, my daughter-in-law!" Veronica immediately rushed to hug Ellena, and vice versa. Ellena returned the hug of her mother-in-law. It didn't last long, they stretched their bodies again, giving them a little distance.

Ellena then kissed Veronica's hand like a child to her mother. "Mommy, how are you? Did Mommy just come here alone?" asked Ellena with a friendly smile.

"Mommy is fine, Honey. By the way, daddy is still in the office. Maybe he will come here later, after coming home from work. How are you?" Veronica asked back.

"As Mommy can see, I'm healthy. How could I not be fine, while Lucas is very care about me," Ellena answered simply. In fact, she was utterly disgusted by what she had just said in front of her mother-in-law. In reality, Lucas had always been arrogant. However, she still believed that Lucas was a good person.

"Why should you be ashamed? Isn't he your husband?" Veronica asked teasingly.

"Ah, Mommy. Come on, don't talk about him. Mommy's better sit down, I'll get Mommy a drink," Ellena pleaded.

"No need, Elle. You're a director's wife, so you shouldn't act like a maid in this house. Let Joana prepare everything, you stay here with Mommy." Veronica shook her head slowly. It seemed that she really didn't want to, if she saw Ellena doing the work that the maid in the house was supposed to do.

"It's okay, Mommy. Mommy's coming to this house is very special for me. So, I have to serve Mommy myself. Mommy, wait here a moment!" Ellena rushed into the kitchen, at least she had a chance to neutralize her feelings.

Ellena felt very nervous about her mother-in-law. It was not easy for her to adapt to new people, moreover that person was her own mother-in-law. She always felt awkward in front of her two in-laws. In the kitchen, Joana was seen pouring drinks into two empty glasses. It seemed, she was preparing the drink to serve Ellena as well as Veronica.

"Okay, I'll prepare a cake for Mommy." Ellena went to the dish rack. She took one of the white plates that were lined up neatly there.

Ellena cut the cake she had made this morning, then put a few slices of cake on the plate. After he finished, he immediately set the glasses and plates on the tray.

In just 3 minutes, Ellena had returned with a brown wooden tray. On the tray, there are two glasses of orange juice and a plate of homemade chocolate brownies. Ellena served the drink and cake to Veronica happily.

"Mommy should taste my cake, maybe Mommy will like it," said Ellena, placing the cake in front of Veronica, right next to the glass of drink she also served her mother-in-law.

"You made this cake yourself, Elle?" Veronica asked looking at Ellena in disbelief.

'How can a woman as beautiful as Ellena who has such a well-groomed body be so good at cooking and baking? Did she spend her youth on such things? What a wonderful woman! Lucas was not wrong to choose Ellena as his wife. Don't most women her age prefer to spend time shopping and grooming?' So she thought.
