Chapter 194 - YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME?

Chapter 194 – YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME?

"Lucas, why is he here? What really happened to them?" muttered Ellena, still trying to peek at the dark glass cubicle.

"Patricia disappeared after the meeting that time. Previously she did work in the early hours, but I don't know where she is anymore!"

That statement managed to make Ellena jump in surprise. Yes, how not? It turned out that Lucas' purpose in coming to the office was to look for her. How did Lucas know she was there?

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Richard's room seemed to be getting tenser. It seems Lucas still doesn't believe Richard's statement. This was evident from the way he kept urging Richard to tell him about Ellena's whereabouts.

"I can't believe it! Tell me where he is now, if you don't want to see this office destroyed!" Lucas said threateningly.

"You don't believe me?" Richard asked, giving Lucas a sinister look.

He started to show an angry expression, while deep down he was very worried about Ellena. He was sure that Ellena already knew Lucas was in his room. There was no way Ellena hadn't heard the commotion here.

Richard hoped that Ellena wouldn't show up in front of Lucas or if necessary just leave the office before Lucas could find her.

"Do you know?" Lucas leaned forward even more. "She's my wife!" firmly informed.

"What?" Richard was perfectly wide-eyed.

Surprised? Not. Rather he just pretended to be surprised, as if he didn't know about Lucas' status to Ellena yet.

"You must be lying, Lucas!" Richard shook his head, as if he didn't believe Lucas' statement. In fact, he no longer looks respectful to his business partner, and vice versa. Lucas had previously disrespected Richard as a business partner and chairman of the company.

Luckily Richard still has a heart and has no intention of calling security to kick Lucas out, even though deep down he really wants Lucas to leave his office.

"Do I have to show proof that we are married?" Lucas didn't want to lose.

Of course he would defend him marriage to the last drop of blood, even he wouldn't let Ellena fall into Richard's arms.

Lucas didn't know if his hunch was right or wrong. Clearly he felt that there was something Richard was hiding from him. This was evident from Richard's gaze which seemed not to show the truth.

"Maybe you got the wrong person. Patricia applied for a job in this office as single. So, there's no way if all of a sudden—"

"I am her husband! You have been lied to by her!" Lucas concluded firmly as he pounded the table until his voice was loud again.

Ellena, who was still trying to observe from a distance, again managed to jump in surprise.

"No! This can't be allowed. I have to go see Lucas immediately, before he causes more chaos in this office." Ellena whispered as she shook her head, as a reflex.

Ellena's hand moved, about to reach for the doorknob. However, before she could launch his action, suddenly someone managed to cover her mouth with a handkerchief, until he was unconscious. It looks like there's an anesthetic in the handkerchief.

His hopes were dashed, when two men in black leather jackets dragged him quietly out of the room. It happened so fast. The two men led Ellena to an elevator door until the elevator led them to a baseman, where their car was.

Only three minutes after the incident, suddenly there was a knock on Richard's door.

"Mr, what happened? Are you all right?" someone shouted outside, distracting them all. However, no one cared or even intended to simply reply.

"Lucas, calm down. We will discuss this matter amicably. You also can't force Mr. Richard, maybe what he said is true," said Adley trying to resolve the dispute between the two men.

"You want to defend him?" Lucas glared at Adley with a hand pointing at Richard. His breath was ragged, indicating that his emotions were rising.

"It's not like that, Lucas. I just don't want to see you two fighting like that. The problem won't go away!" Adley firmly denied Lucas' accusations.

"If he had good intentions, I wouldn't have done this. Can't you see? How is he trying so hard to hide Ellena from me?" Lucas replied not wanting to lose.

"Your guess isn't necessarily true. Maybe it's just your feelings, Lucas," Adley replied, lowering his voice again, just not wanting to see Lucas' emotions run wild.

"Did you just know me yesterday afternoon, huh?" Lucas asked again with eyes so wide that Adley gave up. It's useless to ban Lucas. He knew very well how his best friend was.

"Okay," Adley whispered as he closed his mouth again.

"Tell me where is my wife now?" Lucas shouted as he refocused his gaze on Richard.

It was clear that Richard was very panicked and nervous because of the constant attacks from Lucas.

Richard was just about to respond when the door to the room opened and caught their attention.

"What are you doing here?" asked a security guard who barged into Richard's room. His voice was very loud and firm.

He was standing not far from them, right behind Lucas' bodyguard. Beside him was another security guard who had a dreadlocks stature. Meanwhile, behind the two security guards, several male employees took part. It seemed that the commotion in the room had managed to gather the entire work team in the office.

This of course made Lucas even more unable to control his emotions. He wanted to be blind and destroy all the objects in the room. However, he didn't do it. Right now searching for Ellena's whereabouts was of the utmost importance.

Quickly Lucas coded the two bodyguards behind him. Without waiting long, the two bodyguards immediately turned around and stopped the two security guards and several other employees from attacking Lucas.

"Who dares to fight me? I will kill you one by one!" Lucas' sarcasm, which managed to make the employees shrivel up instantly, even more so when he found his face reddened from holding back his mounting anger. Not to mention the two bodyguards who were still trying to block, making them even more unable to move a bit.

Lucas turned to Richard. Still with the same look. Meanwhile, Richard also still hadn't changed one bit of his position. He only made eye contact with the two security guards so as not to do anything rash.

"You still don't want to admit it?" Lucas asked trying to give Richard a chance to think.

"What should I admit, when I really don't know where that woman is anymore!" Richard said looking frustrated.

"You deliberately want to find a case with me?" Lucas hit Richard's desk with one hand, letting it rest for a while on the table.

"It's up to you! Do whatever you want to do here. You want to kill me? Go ahead. I will never admit to something I never did!" Richard replied still not wanting to give up his stance and wishing Ellena was gone.

With Ellena who just stayed silent and didn't see Lucas, it made Richard believe that Ellena really didn't want to meet her husband and that made Richard even more excited not to give up.

It seemed that Richard's obsession with Ellena was so ingrained that he didn't want to see Ellena and Lucas reunite. If he had a choice, he'd rather Lucas destroy his entire office than meet Ellena.

"Arrgh!" Lucas groaned in frustration. However, he was immediately stunned when he found a door in the room and his heart was moved to approach the door.

Lucas took a step with Adley and Alex in tow.

"Where are you going?" shouted Richard immediately following Lucas' steps.

"Never touch that door one bit!" shouted Richard again who was clearly very worried about Ellena there.

"To hell with your threats!" Lucas sarcastically didn't care, he continued his action and opened the door.

Lucas, Adley and Alex seemed to be wide-eyed perfectly, as soon as the door opened to find an empty, uninhabited study.

Seeing this, Richard who was already standing behind them rubbed his chest as if he was relieved when he didn't find Ellena in the room.

Lucas immediately turned to Richard who was standing behind him, without changing his gaze one bit.

"What room is this?" Lucas asked before he entered the room any further.

"Lucas," Adley called softly. Lucas immediately refocused his gaze on Adley who was already standing in front of Ellena's desk.

Lucas immediately went to his best friend, as soon as he got a code for him to come closer.

"Look!" Adley handed him an acrylic sign with the name "Patricia" from the top of the desk.

This, of course, took Lucas and Adley by surprise. So what did Richard say earlier? Lucas was even more convinced that Richard was actually lying.

"Can you explain about this?" Lucas asked not wanting to mince words.

But before he could, Richard answered, suddenly Adley handed him a black bag.

"You also have to look at this to prove it belongs to Ellena or not," Adley said.

With great enthusiasm Lucas grabbed the bag and immediately checked its contents. The thing that became the goal was Ellena's ID card. He opens Ellena's wallet and is surprised to find her portrait with Ellena. Seeing this, of course, he believed that Richard was deliberately trying to hide Ellena's whereabouts from him.

"Are you still going to dodge after this, Richard?

Lucas' question made Richard unable to move one bit.

"Tell me where my wife is!" Lucas shouted before Richard replied to his previous question.

"I-I don't know," Richard replied looking dubious and confused.

"Then what is this? You still dare to dodge after I know everything, huh?" said Lucas as he held up Ellena's tasa in the air.
