Chapter 191 - DON'T BE STUPID!

Chapter 191 – DON’T BE STUPID!

"What important information do you have about Ellena?" Lucas asked as he entered Adley's apartment unit.

Without further ado, Lucas immediately asked what he had been curious about since Adley had called him.

He stepped ahead of Adley, toward the sofa which was a few feet from the door. His gaze wandered in several directions. Meanwhile, Adley seemed to be following him from behind, after successfully closing the door again tightly.

Adley was silent and had no intention of answering Lucas' question.

Now they were sitting opposite each other on the bone-white sofa. Lucas sat back with his legs crossed with his eyes focused on Adley.

Unlike his best friend, Adley actually sat with his body leaning forward and slightly bent over. Instantly she raised her gaze to Lucas, looking serious and doubtful as if she was deep in thought to answer that question.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Lucas' gaze turned probing. Yes, of course Lucas was surprised by Adley's attitude and gaze.

A few minutes ago it was Adley who asked Lucas to come. However, now he was silent and looked at his best friend like that. Really suspicious.

"Tell me what information you have about Ellena!" Lucas demanded emphatically. He really couldn't wait to hear the latest news that he had been waiting for so long.

"Don't waste my time!" Lucas insisted again as if he didn't want to give Adley the slightest chance to breathe freely.

Adley gave a grunt before he decided to speak up and respond to his best friend's question.

"I'll tell you, but you have to promise me one thing." Adley replied.

"Is this information so risky that you have to give me such conditions?" Lucas snapped, widening his eyes.

"Just do as I say, if you still expect this important information to reach your ears!" Adley said, raising his voice a little.

Lucas snorted roughly, then looked away for a moment. Instantly he threw a blank stare at Adley.

"What should I do?" Lucas asked desperately. Deep down, he didn't want to promise his best friend anything at all. However, because Adley insisted, he also couldn't refuse any more for matters related to his wife.

"Don't be in a hurry to do anything, after you know this information," replied Adley which managed to make Lucas instantly drop his eyebrows, as if he was surprised.

"What do you mean?" Lucas asked still not understanding what Adley meant.

"Anyway, just follow what I say. Don't do anything immediately after you know all this information.

"Ah, you make me dizzy." Lucas sighed in frustration as he shook his head slightly. "Okay. I'll do what you ask."

"Okay." Adley whispered as he breathed a sigh of relief. At least he didn't have to worry too much about what his best friend would do after telling him important information about Ellena.

Adley bowed even more with his hands hanging down. He then took a medium-sized brown envelope from under the table in front of him. He extended the hand that was holding the envelope towards Lucas.

"What else is it?" Lucas glanced briefly at the envelope in Adley's hand, but had no intention of reaching for it immediately.

"Don't tell me it's the same photo I got from Mommy?"

Lucas' words immediately surprised Adley and quickly pulled the envelope back.

"What do you mean?" asked Adley in surprise. "Did you get the pictures of Ellena too?"

"Yeah, an hour ago I got it from Mommy." Lucas answered lazily.

"What? Mrs. Veronica?" Adley looked perfect, as if he couldn't believe that Briana had gotten the photo first.

"Yes, apparently because of the photos Ellena was kicked out by Mommy." Lucas answered again with a disappointed expression.

Adley again arched an eyebrow as if in surprise. "You brought the picture?" asked Adley curiously.

Lucas immediately reached into the tuxedo's inner pocket, pulling out the envelope to show Adley.

Adley immediately grabbed the envelope from Lucas' hand and immediately opened it without taking his eyes off his best friend as if he was still surprised.

Similar to Lucas, Keenan was surprised when he saw the photo. He immediately opened up and opened the photos one by one with a fairly fast hand movement.

Adley looked as if it was the first time he'd seen the photos.

"What kind of photo is this? It's a fake photos, lucas!" Adley said as he looked up at Lucas again.

"Yeah, I know. I even told the man in the photo directly." Lucas informed him.

"You know him?"

"Yes, he's Ellena's ex-boyfriend." Lucas whispered, looking relaxed, in contrast to Adley, who still hadn't managed to neutralize his shock.

"Why do you look so shocked, haven't you seen the photos before?" Lucas asked when he realized Adley was still looking wide as he discussed the photos.

"No. I just saw it." Adley replied, shaking his head, ignoring Lucas' words.

"Then what is it?" Lucas pointed at the envelope lying on the table, right in front of Adley.

Adley looked down, staring at the envelope for a moment. He was just about to reach for the envelope, suddenly Lucas' hand had grabbed the envelope first.

With great enthusiasm, Lucas opened the envelope that had just made him curious.

"What's this?" Lucas asked again surprised by the photos of Ellena with other men and he was sure that this photo was real.

Lucas looked at each sheet of photographs in his hands. There are several photos of Ellena together with men in suits. In the photo Ellena is seen having lunch together, she even saw one photo when the man held Ellena's hand while standing face to face at a very close distance, in a luxury restaurant.

Unlucky. Of the many photos in her hands, none of the man's face was clearly visible, so she could not recognize the man.

"Why are you only telling me now?" Lucas asked.

"I just got it a few minutes ago, and that wasn't on purpose either. When I got home, the envelope was under the door." Adley explained.

"Shit! Who is the real mastermind behind my troubles!" Lucas growled as he clenched his jaw while squeezing a little photo in his hand.

"I don't know. We'll have to try harder to find out."

"Who is the man with Ellena? Why is the photo of the man's face not clear. I think I know him quite well?" Lucas looked at Adley questioningly.

"Yes, we know him," replied Adley which managed to make Lucas widen.

"Who is that man? It seems the place in these photos is very foreign to me." Lucas answered again, looking at one of the photos.

"Richard!"

Lucas was surprised as he lifted his head when he heard Adley say Richard's name.

"Richard? What do you mean? Who is Richard?" Lucas asked, looking at Adley curiously.

"Ah … have you really forgotten about Richard? We've only been discussing our partnership with him for the past few days."

"Richard?" Lucas grew even more perfect when he realized that the man in question was a travel entrepreneur who had just collaborated with his company.

"What do you mean Mr. Richard?" Lucss asked for sure.

"Yes, I think so. I clearly know the place and the clothes Richard was wearing at the time. I even remember where we sat." Adley explained.

"No. How could Ellena know the man?" Lucas shook his head as if in disbelief.

"I thought Ellena was in town now working with Mr. Richard." Adley whispered still guessing.

"Are you sure?" Lucas looked at Adley's face seriously, without even blinking.

"Do you still remember what happened when I met her? Suddenly the secretary disappeared and the photo showing Richard holding Ellena's hand, it's the exact same place where we met at that time. I think Patricia is Ellena," Adley answered at length.

"What? Patricia?" Lucas was getting more and more enthusiastic about asking his best friend.

"Yes, it seems that Ellena deliberately faked her identity and disappeared during the meeting because she didn't want to meet me. That's just my guess."

"Stupid! Patricia is indeed Ellena's middle name. Ellena Patricia Lubis. Why are you telling me now?"

"What? So Patricia is your wife's middle name?" Now it was Adley's turn to be surprised at Lucas' answer.

"Gosh … why I don't know." Adley added, patting his forehead slowly.

"No. I can't let this happen. I have to see Richard right now. He must be trying to get close to my wife." Lucas said, shaking his head with his eyes looking in any direction.

"Don't be rash, Lucas!" said Adley trying to dissuade his best friend.

Of course he didn't want to see Lucas act rashly. He knew that Richard was quite an important person for his branch in the city. How could he possibly let Lucas act as he pleased. This will definitely have a negative impact on the company.

"Didn't you see how he held my wife's hand? I thought he was deliberately teasing Ellena. I don't want that to happen to my wife again. Ellena is only mine, no other man should touch her at all, besides me!" Lucas said with a chuckle.

"I know, but it's late. You won't necessarily find Ellena. At least wait until tomorrow morning. We go to her office secretly, I think Ellena will be there if it's true that she works as Richard's secretary," explained Adley suggesting.

"But-"

"Yeah, I know what you mean, but we can't just do whatever we want. You want to be involved in the law for disturbing other people's peace in the middle of the night like this?" concluded Adley still trying to open Lucas' mind.

"Worry is okay, but don't be stupid!" Adley cursed as he pursed his lips. "Remember! Our company is already bound by a contract. We can't possibly continue that contract, when we don't have a good relationship with him and you have to know the impact if we suddenly terminate the contract unilaterally!"

"Arrgh! To hell with that contract!" Lucas groaned unconcernedly.

"Okay, but at least wait until tomorrow morning, so we can find Ellena too."
