Wedding Agreement With CEO

Chapter 144 - AWAY FROM HOME

"Elle, please explain what happened? Why do we suddenly have to leave here?"

Briana seemed to put on a panicked expression while following Ellena's steps who were pacing back and forth tidying up her clothes.

Instantly Ellena stopped what she was doing when she was just about to put clothes into the suitcase. She looked at her mother's face with a sad expression.

A feeling of confusion had now invaded her heart. She did not know how to explain all the problems she was facing to her mother.

"Mom, there is no other choice. We really have to get out of here. This is Mommy Vero's request," answered Ellena with teary eyes.

"But why, Elle?" Briana asked so enthusiastically because she was very curious.

The tears that Ellena had been trying to hold back from falling, finally fell. Hearing a series of questions that had been thrown by the mother, made her restraints collapse again.

The heart's intention was not to make the mother sad because she saw her cry. However, whatever the power, it turns out that she is also not strong enough to accept the harsh reality.

Slowly and very carefully, Ellena began to explain about the problem she was facing. Trying to understand the mother. Now they were sitting on the edge of the bed, both tilted in a sitting position, facing each other.

"Mother is going to Mrs. Veronica and telling her it's not true!" Briana was just about to leave that place. However, Ellena quickly held her hand, until she was forced to undo it again.

"No, Ma'am!" Ellena looked expectantly at her mother. She didn't want the mother's method to make things worse. let all the lies unfold naturally and she was found not guilty.

"Just let them know that I'm the one at fault. Trust me, lies won't last forever, Ma'am. God will surely reveal all that sooner or later!" said Ellena, crying.

"But what about Martin?" Briana asked, starting to worry about her son who was far away.

Of course she was worried about what would happen to her son. What if Lucas cut all of Martin's tuition fees, after learning about the matter. She could not imagine a time when her son lived abandoned in a foreign land.

"That's what I'm worried about, Ma'am. But don't worry, I'll leave Martin to Lucas as much as I can."

"How to?" Briana asked doubtfully.

"We'll think about it later, now we have to quickly pack up our things and get out of this house." Ellena pleaded as she wiped her tears and immediately stopped the crying. Crying too long made her more stuck and could not think clearly.

"Believe me, Ma'am, that everything will be fine," added Ellena with a smile on her face.

"Where are we going?" Briana asked curiously.

"To a place far from this city, so they can't find us. That's Mrs. Veronica's request.

"Shouldn't we just go back to the village?" Briana suggested.

"No, Ma'am! Lucas already knows our house, he will definitely look there. I don't want Mrs. Vero to be angry because her son can find us later," said Ellena, preferring to find safety.

After Ellena gave an explanation, finally the mother understood and no longer commented much. They have now resumed their activities of putting clothes in the suitcase.

"Miss, where are you going?" asked Joana as she approached Ellena who seemed to have come out of the room dragging a suitcase in her hand.

"I'll get out of here, Jo. Probably won't come back again." Ellena replied as she stood in front of Joana.

"Why? Isn't Mr. Lucas still sick?" Joana looked at her probingly with a slightly furrowed brow.

Going in such a situation, probably most people would think that Ellena didn't want to take care of her sick husband. In fact, it's not like that.

"It's okay, Jo. I have to get out of here," replied Ellen with a smile, then handed Joana a small pink envelope. "I'm keeping this for Lucas. Please don't let Mrs. Vero know." She said later.

"Okay, Miss. Be careful on the road, take care of yourself," said Joana as she grabbed the envelope. Her gaze was pitiful as if he could read Ellena's current sadness.

"Thanks, Jo. Goodbye." Ellena replied and immediately left the house. A house that will be her memory with Lucas.

Ellena walked next to her mother-in-law, pulling her suitcase to the front yard where an online taxi was waiting for her. Yes, a few minutes ago, she had contacted an online taxi to take her somewhere.

The taxi driver seemed to immediately approach, as soon as she saw two women who walked up to her while pulling a suitcase.

"Let me help you, madam." The taxi driver seemed to reach for the suitcase in the hands of Ellena and Briana, then opened the rear car door for both of them, before he put the suitcase into the trunk of the car.

In a matter of minutes, the taxi car was speeding through the streets of the capital which were very busy with passing vehicles.

Ellena glanced out the window. The two brown beads filled with tears again as they recalled Veronica's words to her. Sick. The longer she remembered, the more it hurt her heart.

Instantly she turned as her mother gripped her hand so tightly, as if deliberately trying to give her strength.

Of course Briana could read Ellena's feelings right now. Let alone Ellena, she also felt hurt when she found out that Veronica accused her daughter like that. It hurt even more to see Ellena sad like this.

"I'm fine, Ma'am." Ellena forced a smile then one hand rubbed the back of her mother's hand which was still holding her other hand.

"I know that you are a strong woman. Be patient, one day you will definitely find your happiness, dear." Briana whispered and then embraced Ellena's body in her arms. Meanwhile, Ellena only responded by nodding her head.

Right now there is nothing more precious to Ellena, than the hug of her mother that can give her peace of mind and heart. The tears fell again, as her mother hugged her so tightly.

There is no place to lean on, other than her mother. If she had ended her relationship with Lucas because of that agreement, perhaps she wouldn't have felt this pain. Now what can she hold on to. Her household with Lucas had been destroyed, she couldn't even go back to Keenan who was already planning to marry Filia.

Why does God always test him in a barrage of ways, as if he doesn't have the heart and feelings that one day might tire of accepting all of this. In that moment, he didn't know what he would do, maybe ending his life was the best way to avoid trouble.

"Miss, it's here."

A baritone voice snapped them out of their thoughts. Ellena lifted her body which had been leaning on her mother's chest.

Too late in grief to make her not realize that her journey to the train station was over.

Yes, after conferring with her mother, Ellena decided to go to a village in the Bogor area.

Maybe it wasn't far from Jakarta, but at least Lucas wasn't necessarily looking for Ellena there, because the place Lucas would go to when she woke up, was definitely the area where Ellena was born. That's just a possibility. It's also possible that Lucas won't look for her after she finds out about the portrait of Ellena with Keenan.

After buying the tickets, Ellena and her mother immediately got on the train because the departure would not be long. Looks like she came at the perfect time. Sure enough. The train immediately departed from the city station to the Bogor station. Luckily, the passengers this time were not too crowded, at least she could breathe a sigh of relief while sitting there.

In just over an hour, the train arrived at the Bogor station. They immediately get off and look for public transportation that can take them to a place that they themselves do not know the exact destination they will visit.

Luckily the public transport driver was very kind and willing to take them to a rented house according to Ellena's request. Simple and not in the city center.

"Here's the key, Miss." A middle-aged woman was seen handing a house key to Ellena.

"Thank you, Ma'am." Ellena whispered as she took the key from the hands of the woman who was none other than the landlord.

"The house is simple, but quite neat and clean. I think you will feel comfortable living here," said the middle-aged woman very friendly.

"Sure, Mrs. Mega. We will definitely like living here. The rented house looks so comfortable," answered Ellena with a smile.

Considering that she only had a small amount of money, she was saving money from selling cakes. She decided to look for a house that was very simple and the payments could still be affordable.

Meanwhile, other facilities that Lucas had given her, such as debit cards and credit cards, she had left at the house. She only took the money from the profit selling cakes. It wasn't much either, just enough to make ends meet for the next few days, at least to last her before she got a job in a new place to live.

"Okay, then you guys just rest first." Mega whispered, before she decided to leave that place.

A few moments later, the door to the rented house opened. Inside is quite comfortable and neat with such simple and conditions. There was a set of brown guest chairs, which became the object of their gaze. It looks like it's not new anymore, but it's still usable.

The rented house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen and a living room that is integrated with a place to watch television. It seemed that was enough for the two of them to stay.. At least tonight they could sleep comfortably in a safe place.
