Chapter 975 - An Omniscient Someone

Chapter 975: An Omniscient Someone

She was a good person?

Of course she was.

Because she had just passed Huo Run’s test.

She had long noticed that someone was tailing them since they had left the restaurant but she pretended to not realized.

When she recalled that Huo Run had been in the toilet for a good while and came out with her phone in her hand. Mo Ning had a premonition and what happened next proved her guess right.

Laying against the wall, Mo Ning’s eyes were chilly and her expression indecipherable.

This whole test, who was it for?

Huo Run?

Her test was successful. In her eyes, Mo Ning was a person that was willing to risk her life to protect her and was true to her.

Or was it for Mo Ning herself?

She needed a heroic moment and Huo Run handed it to her on a silver platter.

That was all fine and dandy…

But…

Going along with what happened allowed her to see a few things clearer.

Like how that seemingly gentle Huo Run could be really brutal with her actions.

When the bald man stabbed at her, Mo Ning could easily dodge the attack but she did not. Instead waited for a bit, only to realize that the latter was not hesitating.

If she was a wee bit less skillful and was stabbed, she’ll probably be half-dead even if she escaped death.

And even with just a test, Huo Run could be so cruel about it.

Furthermore, before Huo Run acted, she probably had just treated her as a spare tire that she had little nice feelings for.

Mo Ning was sure that Huo Run was a poison ivy and anyone who wanted to get close to her would need to be prepared to lose their life at any given moment.

Letting a deep breath out, Mo Ning slowly walked to the school’s interior.

And just as she walked pass a man-made lake, a chilling voice suddenly rang out.

“Having fun playing the hero?”

“…”

Mo Ning was surprised.

If not for the fact that she could hear a human’s voice; she would have sworn she had ran into a ghost in this dark and eerie environment when someone suddenly spoke.

Mo Ning glared and used the moon light as her light source. A tall figure was sitting on the bench facing the lake.

She walked over and let out a series of cracks as she stepped on the dried leaves on the ground.

“Yan Sinian, how did you know what I did earlier?” Her gaze sharpened. “You were following me?”

“Come and sit.”

Just these three words, Yan Sinian said with his usual gentle tone. Yet Mo Ning could sense a sliver of danger in it and pursed her lips. Just as she said, a long arm suddenly shot out and clutched her by the waist.

Letting out a yelp, she crashed against a wall of toned muscle as a fragrance from his body hits her nose.

“What do you want?”

Mo Ning glared at him as she straightened her body. Just as she was about to dodge, Yan Sinian grabbed her arm. The wounded one.

“Trying to deceive someone by hurting yourself?”

Yan Sinian’s arm that was resting on her waist was suddenly tugged and lifted her whole entire body as he placed her on his lap.

His movements was so quick that by the time Mo Ning realized it, she was already in a compromising position.

“Mo Ning, you’re quite well-versed with the 36 stratagems of Z Country.”

Mo Ning turned over and acted dumb. “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

Yan Sinian held her waist with one arm as he buried his face on her shoulder, taking in a deep breath of her scent.

“Two days ago, you had looked for two bruisers and gave them 30 thousand. And when you give the signal, they’ll strike at Huo Run.”

His voice was whimsical yet every single word he said drove a chill down her spine.
