Chapter 259 - A Vinegar Jar With Self Awareness

While Xiaoyu was plotting her comeback on a small boat Rui Fei was getting rid of something that screamed Xiaoyu louder than anything on this ship. Ji Yao was just sitting in front of his Kang table with a steaming cup of tea in front of him watching him bustling about like a busy bee.

Rui Fei was going through his stuff with a determined look on his face. Since Ji Yao didn't ask then Rui Fei didn't say anything. The moment he found what he was looking for it was like an uh-huh moment. In his hand, he held Xiaoyu's painting covered with a white sheet cloth. He turned to look at Ji Yao only to find him staring in his direction with an intense gaze.

Thinking Ji Yao was leering at him he felt giddy and blushed a little. He was about to ask Ji Yao what he was looking at when he saw that his gaze was a few inches off. Rui Fei followed his gaze only to find that there was an additional canvas at the corner that wasn't there in the past.

With a raised brow he looked back at Ji Yao who averted his gaze lowering his head. Of course, Rui Fei grew suspicious. He reached for the painting neatly tucked at the corner while closely watching him in his peripheral view. Ji Yao had his head lowered the entire time but when Rui Fei touched that painting he suddenly spoke up.

"You already got what you wanted from there so don't touch anything else," said Ji Yao in a serious tone as though reprimanding a toddler for sticking a fork inside an electrical socket.

Rui Fei who had been scolded couldn't help but become a little more curious. What could Ji Yao be possibly hiding? "What? Did you paint a portrait of someone I shouldn't know about?" he asked but Ji Yao ignored him sipping on his tea like he didn't hear his question just now.

"Yao-ge, you know I am a very jealous person... and I am very jealous right now." As he said this he brushed the tip of his fingers on the covered portrait with a sullen expression.

Ji Yao almost burnt his tongue when he heard this. Even he had to admit the boy had a lot of self-awareness. It takes a real man to admit that he is a vinegar jar.

Rui Fei stared at him at the corner of his eye with a sour air around him but Ji Yao didn't permit him to take a look. Once he realised that there was no way he was going to win this fight he angrily grabbed Xiaoyu's portrait and walked out mumbling, "You didn't even paint my portrait but do it for others."

Ji Yao watched the cub throw a fit as he stormed out of the cabin. That's when he muttered, "It's because it's not finished that you can't see it yet." To vent out his rampant emotions when Rui Fei left him he painted a dozen portraits of Rui Fei but none of them were good enough.

His turbid emotions were influencing his work which wasn't satisfactory. His last attempt was much better but he hadn't finished it yet so he couldn't show it to Rui Fei.

Rui Fei on the other hand stomped to the edge of the deck and tossed the painting but instead of falling into the sea the stupid canvas behaved like a boomerang and spun off the ship only to take a U-turn back and hit Rui Li on the back of her head. It had to be the way he threw it that sent it flying like a frisbee.

Rui Li was minding her own business reading her book while Rui Yewan and Big Hei were having an official fan club meeting on Ji Yao's manga about the shadow master. She yelped while covering the back of her head seeking out the culprit who had the guts to hit her.

That's when she met her brother's gaze before looking down at what hit her. She held it up and yelled, "Is this payback for shipping Xiaoyu with Yao-ge before YaoFei CP? Dage, you are so petty!"

Rui Fei had zero idea what she was talking about but it seemed he had been handed the perfect excuse by her. "Fine, I am sorry. I promise to be a YaoFei fan for the rest of my life and as a sign of my loyalty I will shred this ugly portrait in front of you," she said drawing out her sabre.

Bright orange beams surrounded the blade as she seriously shredded that portrait to tiny pieces. Rui Yewan who was sitting down opposite Big Hei stretched out his hand and a black fog devoured the torn pieces turning them to dust.

"I also pledge allegiance to whatever she said," he spoke without shifting his gaze from the manga.

Rui Fei shrugged it off as he walked over to see what they were doing. Standing by Big Hei's side he asked, "What part are you reading?" He had seen this manga and knew it was based on himself but he never read it.

Apparently, when they first met he scared Ji Yao so much that he started this work to cope with the psychological impact and the fact that Rui Fei kept appearing in his dreams often while the cub was looking for him only exacerbated the situation.

Ji Yao only stopped after he found out he was that boy in the dungeon. Sometimes this had him wondering if he really was that scary in the past? It's not like he is ugly or anything so why would Ji Yao be that terrified of him before?

"The shadow master just hooked up with the villainess serpent lady. Thankfully she transformed to her human form otherwise, that would have been disturbing," replied Big Hei.

Rui Fei's brows knitted together as he pulled the book and to his astonishment, he saw the hideous shadow that was meant to represent him holding a woman with vertical slits for pupils by the waist while kissing her passionately.

"You do realise this story is based on me, right?"

Big Hei, "....."

Rui Yewan, "What the fuck."

"Tsk.... I am confiscating all of it," he said as he grabbed the book from Rui Yewan as well. "I have a bone to pick with the content's creator," he mumbled as he stormed off again. He wouldn't mind if it was pictures of him making out with Ji Yao, not this..... this serpent lady.

"HA HAHAHAHA WAH HAHAHAHA! I didn't..... I didn't see that coming HAHAHAHA," laughed Rui Li almost falling off her seat. This was the most epic revelation of the year.

"Wow... I definitely didn't see that one coming. No wonder I felt a sense of familiarity," said Rui Yewan genuinely surprised that is until he heard a tiny whimper come from Big Hei.

"What?" he asked staring at the star-struck Big Hei. It was as though he had met his Kpop idol and didn't know how to react.

"Do, do you think he can sign me an autograph?" asked Big Hei in a hoarse voice.

Rui Li, "HAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

Rui Yewan face palmed disbelieving of this situation.
