Undying Warlord

528 City of Trials

“Wait a moment…let me think about what the hell you just said…” Dilan interrupted the Oracle, who had continued speaking about some sort of Heroes of an old prophecy, saving the Universe from some existences that want to devour every being of the Universe.

“You said that I, the Undying, and some other dude, called Eternal Darkness, are favored by the Universe and that we will rescue it…because some prophecy says that?

The Primordial Ascension was created to find the Undying, and the Eternal Darkness is said to arrive after me…and he is stronger than me? I call that bullshit…” Dilan shouted out loud and he was just about to get up from the ground when the Oracle moved down her finger once again.

He was forcefully pushed to the ground and was barely able to lift his upper body to look at the Oracle’s face.

“If you ask me about the reason for the Primordial Ascension’s existence, it was created by a Prymordia after I prophesied the Universe’s doom. The System and the Primordial Ascension are supposed to give birth to beings strong enough to fight against the creatures that come from the other side of the Veil.

The Veil can be considered a man-made crack in the void between multiple Universes and it leads to another Universe, a Universe that has already been devoured by the Veilures, which is the name we gave the creatures from behind the Veil.

As for the task I was given by the Origin, I am supposed to bring you to the City of Trials and make sure that you will have enough time to prepare for everything,” The Oracle answered before she thought of something that made her add a few more words,

“The Origin has been hibernating for a very long time, and it only awoke due to your birth. It’s not your fault but more like the fact that the Origin sensed the arrival of the Undying and the Eternal Darkness!”

‘What the hell? Who is this Origin now?’ Dilan sighed deeply and he felt a bad headache creeping up his head.

Too many confusing terms and revelations had appeared all of a sudden and it was too much for Dilan to digest all of it in such a short amount of time.

“I can tell that you are a little bit overwhelmed, but don’t worry too much, the first trial will help you arrange your thoughts and learn everything you need to know for the future!” The Oracle said, giving him the first hint of the first trail.

“How many tria….no forget that…” Dilan disregarded his question and he changed his focus to something else that began to torment his mind.

“The Universe is making use of me to fight the Veil beings, Veilures, or whatever they’re called. I should probably be angry at that, shouldn’t I?” Dilan asked, though feeling anything but angry.

The Oracle had told him lots of things and he could tell that the speed at which his mind processed the given information and his comprehension hadn’t been restricted. Thus, he was slowly making some progress with the information he had received.

p “You can be angry at the Universe, if you want to,” The Oracle spoke emotionlessly, not really bothered by how Dilan felt about the things he had just heard.

“That’s not necessary…I should rather be thankful, I guess… If the Veilures exist, either way, and they try to devour everything, being in possession of the power to do something against them can be considered a blessing. If I can fight against the Veilures, while not even someone with your powers can do that properly, I will be able to protect my family no matter what…

So I should be thankful…probably,” Dilan thought out loud and wondered for the second time since he had been summoned and the Oracle smiled lightly.

“I will bring you to the City of Trials then!” The Oracle declared, reaching out for Dilan’s hand. Dilan grasped her hand tightly and he nodded his head, determination gleaming in his eyes.

He could tell that the Fourth Awakening was just one of the many things that would bother them in the future. As for the Veilures, he considered them the final obstacle in his mission to protect his family!

‘Looks like I will have to give my best here and reap as much as possible!’ Dilan figured, closing his eyes for a second when a sparkling light manifested in front of him.

He felt the space around him twisting and opened his eyes just seconds later.

However, what unveiled itself in front of him was something he could have never expected to see.

It was a humongous city from medieval times. And, there were all kinds of unique buildings and structures that attracted his attention from high up in the air.

There was a humongous Colosseum, a huge library, a big clock tower, countless dojos, a district filled with the work of Artisans and much more.

“People live here?” Dilan looked down at the ground from the position they were hovering in the air and he could clearly tell that there were moving dots on the ground.

That was quite unexpected as he didn’t think that so many people would live in a place where time ran differently.

“Yes and no. Most of these people are already dead outside this place, but they sacrificed a shard of their Soul to prepare for the arrival of those who gained permission to enter parts of the City of Trials.

Every single person you see in the City of Trial was, or is a True God with unimaginable achievements. They created unique techniques, studied and came up with new theories about the circulation of Essence and Mana, and so on.

You can learn a lot from every single one of them if they accept you as their student, that is!” The Oracle said and Dilan silently nodded his head once again.

He could tell that there was a lot for him to learn. His knowledge needed the biggest input of information because it looked like he didn’t know anything about the Universe. That was only obvious considering that he didn’t even know much about what was going on outside their solar system just a bit more than six months ago.

There was too much he didn’t know and he had to make use of his present and near future to make up for what he lacked as well as possible!

“You will have to pass three Trials before you will be able to advance to the fourth Tier. If you manage to pass all the trials with flying colors, you might not even have to pass another advancement mission to become a Demi God, or a Lesser God! Of course, that is only something you can attain if you give your best and if you work meticulously!” The Oracle spoke a lot and it was quite obvious that she wanted to provide Dilan as many pieces of information as possible.

However, Dilan started to frown because he felt like he would never be able to find out what the three Trials were if he allowed the Oracle to keep speaking.

“And what are the three Trials?”
