To Live Again, For the First Time!

Chapter 126 - Makeover Pt II: (Perfect!)

He used to throw tantrums all day because the elders only cared about this little sister of his, pouting for days on end, that was until one day, his attitude on this matter made a 180.

The young boy had been sent to primary school earlier that year, he had come to class pouting cutely as per usual these days.

And suddenly, the young girl that he had good feelings for at that time actually confessed to him out of nowhere during recess with a bunch of other giggling girls behind her.

He was dumbstruck.

How could a pie fall out of the clear blue sky just like this? Completely illogical!

Then again, liking wasn't based on logic anyways.

He had been expressing his good feelings towards her since the beginning of the school year, after all, she was cute, pretty, and cute. (Yes, that was really all it took at that age to fall into puppy love. No, it couldn't even be counted as puppy love at that age... Fetus love?)

The girl expressed that she had apparently 'misunderstood him', saying that she had previously thought that he was too overbearingly unreasonable, but lately, she had realized that he wasn't that bad.

Well, it was more like her girlfriends had noticed that for her, each one of them standing next to her while she 'confessed'.

At first, he had been annoying, mean, bad, and a whole lot of other words that the girl had learned to describe these sentiments, but apparently, the girl had finally seen his 'true colors'.

Her friends had convinced her that before he was just trying to put up a front to look strong to impress her and went about it the wrong way, so this was probably his real self, this quiet, obedient, and cute kid.

And since she didn't dislike him, she was also soon convinced that this was what love was.

To be fair, she was very young, and so were her friends who watched the dramas that their mothers and sisters, for those who had sisters, watched.

'They've just been reprimanding me too much lately and so I haven't had the energy to do anything else other than to listen and be obedient!'

'And what do you mean about cute? I'm clearly super handsome, okay?!'

Each one of her words shot an arrow aimed at his heart.

He wanted to spit out blood!

'Apparently, I am that overbearingly unreasonable kid you speak of!'

He had just toned it down a whole lot these past few weeks due to personal reasons.

After the wounds to his heart healed, the young boy was finally enlightened.

True enlightenment and led him to change his ways.

[Lol, this tis the way!]

His parents also soon noticed that the boy had changed, well someone else had noticed for them.

They hadn't been paying too much attention due to lack of sleep and many other reasons, but when a maid pointed it out to the two, they couldn't help but widen their eyes in surprise at the realization.

Their boy had finally grown up!

The only change in these past few days/ weeks was the addition of the new member of their family and so after a conversation, Grace's parents naturally pinned this outcome on their well-named newborn!

Well, it wasn't completely wrong to say that Grace had indeed influenced her brother's actions this past while, but the little brother would probably cough out blood for the second time if he knew that such a thought when through his parent's minds.

Was there something as mystical as the name of one child changing the behaviors of another?

This was all his hard work, okay?

But thankfully the kid never found out.

Instead, he was surprised by a raise in allowance for his good behavior! (Money that he really had no place to spend on any time soon.)

This was when he knew that he had made the right choice, setting his heart on changing his ways, yes, at some point his heart had wavered.

But in the end, changing for the better wasn't too hard considering his young age and flexible mentality, well, at least not when he had set his mind to it.

As for his parents, unlike their eldest child of just 3, they hadn't learned their lesson at all.

After they had come to the 'realization' that their daughter was really their lucky star that had helped change that fiery temper of that son of theirs, they started pampering her even more.

And well, the outcome of such a reaction was evident.

Grace, their lucky star, the one who had even the power to make their son more composed after just being in her presence as a baby, the one and only, ended up even fiercer than his brother.

Their lucky star had soon grown up to become a shooting star!

She was a true beauty from a distance and scarier than a meteor up close.

And at that point, there was no one else who could control her temper anymore.

Even the big brother who changed his ways, having become much more mellow, well rounded, both having a presence, but also not an uncomfortably overbearing one, instantly had his fuse lit up in the presence of his younger sister.

Either way, her temper could be easily noted from the way she spoke to Mason, who was in fact her elder by a few years, her being closer to Emilin by age.

But her temper had also changed from when she was younger, to some extent at least.

This was mainly because of the route she had taken. She wanted to become the greatest makeup artist in history, and so clearly a requirement was great patience.

There were many times when she had to deal with unreasonable models who were simply too full of themselves, which may be the reason she liked working with newbies, or perhaps it was a completely different reason entirely.

There was also the fact that many times, the time spent simply doing the makeup could no longer be counted with one hand, even when the units used were hours.

Either way, now her temper and impatience had been directed into specific channels, so at least it wasn't as chaotic as before.

"Just give me a second, I'll finish recording this last part before uploading this video real quick," Grace shooed the three guests to the couch that she sometimes slept on when she was too tired, or when she simply wanted a nap, which the others promptly sat on.

The aforementioned 1 second soon became 600, as in 10 minutes.

Emilin watched as this woman finished doing an outro for her video before saving and closing her screen.

"So what can I help you with?"

Grace turned around on her chair with a playful grin, which didn't quite match her face nor clothing, which screamed both gracefulness as well as a refined personage.

This merperson may have even been royalty, that is until she opened her mouth.

It made it clear to all that she was very much human.

"Well, the thing is Em---" Mason tried to explain before he was cut off.

"I wasn't asking you, I was asking the pretty sister over here," Grace said, looking straight at the greenhorn Emilin, who sat across from her.

Emilin found that it would be quite rude if she were to simply start making demands, of which she didn't even know the content.

Mason had said that he could prove something to her here today, and so obviously she wouldn't know all the details.

After a short interaction and introduction which Emilin actually initiated, she continued by explaining some of the situations, she also explained how Mason would actually know a little better why they were and what they were doing here.

Followed by which he was finally given permission to speak.

"So what you are telling me is that all I have to do is to prove to this pretty sister that I can perfectly conceal her identity and even make her prettier than ever before and I'll have another beauty I can tes--- work with?"

Grace caught herself mid-word and covered her smiling mouth as if saying 'oopsie, did I get caught?'

"Yes, that is the general gist of it."

Mason nodded with a small frown while Emilin pretended to not have heard Grace's slip up.

She didn't understand it either way, so there was no point pointing it out and making people uncomfortable since Grace clearly didn't want to clarify.

"Perfect!"

Grace clasped her hands together and looked at Emilin as if she were some prize she was going to win soon enough, with competitiveness, eagerness, and determination.

"Then you guys leave," Grace wasn't polite to Mason anymore, and since Mason was leaving, Lisa would naturally have to leave with him.

As for Mason, he simply sighed and did as he was told as if already used to it.

"Why did they have to leave?" Emilin asked out of curiosity.

Grace smirked once again.

"Because we are doing a makeover of course!"

"Me?"

She asked hesitantly, to which Grace enthusiastically nodded and moved Emilin from her seat on the couch to the spinning chair she had been previously sitting on.

Emilin was suddenly wary of what was to come, an awkward smile plastered on her face.

Wary, yet expectant at the same time.

'A makeover huh? I never saw that one coming… but I guess that is to be expected if they want to prove anything at all.'

'Maybe my expectations are too high, but I hope that she can do so well that even mom and dad wouldn't recognize me.'

Emilin's heart suddenly started palpitating at the thought before she shook her head and nerves along with it.
