The World of Deities

Chapter 64 - Insomnia

Chapter 64: Insomnia

“I also believe it. However, I am already a Black Iron Mage and have lost the opportunity to fight with him,” said Andre.

“You will definitely meet him in the Black Iron Training Session soon. You may also see him in the city-state competition later,” said Carlos.

Andre stared at Carlos with his greyish green eyes and said slowly, “I can’t wait. What should I do then?”

“Hmm…” Carlos’ heart was racing, and cold sweat was breaking out on his forehead. He finally understood why he was called here today. This kind of thing was very common among the nobles, but he did not expect it to be his turn.

Moreover, Andre was not asking.

Andre patted Carlos’ shoulder like he was a puppy. He looked at the statue of his ancestor again and said slowly, “I heard from father today that the future products of our family might have to be transported by a new fleet.”

Carlos’ eyes suddenly widened.

Carlos’ fleet was his family’s only source of income. The other businesses were losing money. Almost all the nobles predicted that in less than three years, Carlos’ family would no longer be able to maintain their lifestyle in the noble district. They would have to move to the commoners’ district and become a noble family that went bankrupt.

If the Trausse family stopped using their fleet, then Carlos’ family would go bankrupt at least two years earlier.

“However, I can also tell my father that Carlos and I are friends. I hope that our family will not only continue to use their fleet but also purchase the goods from their workshop.”

Andre patted Carlos’ shoulder again, and a hint of delight suddenly flashed across his grayish-green eyes. He then slowly said, “You know, ever since my unlucky big brother died, and I was discovered to have magic talent, my father has doted on me. Look, I don’t like these magic tools. It was my father who forced me to wear it.”

Carlos lowered his head and bent his back. His eyes were dazzled by the magic tools on Andre’s body.

“You are a lucky man,” Carlos quickly said.

“But this afternoon, I was very unlucky. Very, very unlucky,” Andre said with a smile.

Carlos kept his head down, not knowing how to answer.

Andre gave Carlos a dirty look and snorted, “I don’t have time for too much nonsense. Get rid of Su Ye, let everyone in Plato Academy know about his notoriety, make him notorious in Athens. Then, not only can you protect your family, you even have the chance to become a good friend of a heroic mage!”

“But…”

“I’ll only give you two months,” said Andre.

Carlos quickly said, “Andre, the time is too short. I really can’t do it. In such a short time, I can only use the old tricks of the nobles, send some whores to set him up.”

“A sixteen-year-old child looking for a prostitute? Do you think that all the Athenians are fools? Do you think that the Plato Academy would expel him for something like this? Do you know who he is? He is a mage! I want his reputation as a mage tainted, I want his career in the magical world destroyed! I want him to kneel in front of my statue in the Delphi Temple one day and cry bitterly!” Andre gradually raised his voice.

“I really can’t do it,” Carlos was in a great deal of agony.

Andre laughed as he looked at Carlos, “I’m very curious. Why did you choose to go to Plato Academy instead of the Noble Academy? What are you, or your family, afraid of? Or should I say ‘who’?”

Carlos turned pale because he was scared. He stared at Andre in disbelief, his eyes were filled with terror. His right hand couldn’t help but grab his robe.

Andre laughed loudly, “Don’t worry. We are nobles. He’s just a Sage Mage. Why would I help an outsider? Thus, you will also help me, right?”

Carlos’ throat was dry. He swallowed his saliva with great difficulty, then nodded, “Right.”

“You truly are an excellent nobleman. Help me once, and I’ll tell you who leaked the news, and your family’s trouble would be gone forever. Two months.” Andre stretched out two fingers.

“Don’t worry! Two months!” Carlos gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, the veins on his forehead showing.

“Swear you would never tell anyone that I asked you to do it,” Andre said.

“Okay!”

The night in Athens was very quiet.

Su Ye couldn’t sleep.

Too many things had happened today, besides the two extremely rare Magical Talents he’d got today, his brain was overly excited.

Su Ye had tried all kinds of methods, he had even meditated many times, but he still couldn’t calm down. So, he chose to do the most tiring thing for his brain.

Learning the Magic Array.

He sent a Magic Message to Nidern, requesting the other apprentice-level Magic Array.

In the end, not only did Nidern send the apprentice-level Magic Array, he even sent the black iron-level ones, along with the accompanying incantations and detailed explanations. He also explained that Plato Academy would send the next level Magic Array to the students in advance so that they could also learn it when they were promoted to a higher level outside the academy or under special circumstances.

Curious, Su Ye looked at the Black Iron-level Magic Array. It was at least twice as complicated as the apprentice-level Magic Array.

Then, Nidern sent him another Magic Message, expressing his concerns. He did not recommend Su Ye to learn a new Magic Array at home because carving the Magic Array would take a long time. And if he was disturbed along the way, he would become mentally unstable. It would even affect the use of this spell. He suggested that Su Ye go to the meditation area in Plato Academy to do that.

Su Ye thanked Nidern and then reminded him not to forget about the Black Iron Medal. He picked up the spell book and went straight to Plato Academy.

Su Ye walked under the light of the moon and the stars. He became even more excited because he was about to learn a new Magic Array.

When he arrived at Plato Academy, Su Ye was stunned for a moment.

Plato Academy had magical lights everywhere. The entire academy was like a country in the fairytale, beautiful and magnificent.

However, the Sea Demon Fountain looked even more gloomy under the light.

Su Ye looked at the magic clock on Plato Main Hall. It was already past midnight.

Su Ye strolled in the tree-shaded academy. Listening to the chirping of insects and birds, Su ye felt unprecedentedly calm. He started to feel sleepy.

Su Ye could not help but smile. There was indeed a power that could soothe one’s soul here.

As he walked, he passed by the arena. He could hear that the magic sandbag in there was being hit.

Su Ye looked towards the sound. He looked in disbelief at the man who was only wearing shorts and covered in sweat.

The man’s hair was extremely short as if there was only androgenic hair. The body that was covered in sweat gleamed with a bronze luster, shining under the starry sky.

The muscles on his entire body were looked like they were the work of a great sculptor. They were full of strength. When he moved, his muscles trembled, and there seemed to be little rabbits jumping under his skin.

The figure of that man was too familiar. He was like a giant bear that was standing upright.

It was the man who had been sitting on his left-hand side all this time.

Looking at Hort’s back, Su Ye was filled with a myriad of emotions.

It turned out that although this guy said that he was stupid, that he was ridiculed by others, and that he would fall asleep when he started meditating, he did not give up.
