The Wife of Hades

Chapter 46 - I Missed You

After that, they never saw each other again for several years.

--- 12 years later

One day after turning 16, Mo Yelin packed his stuff and left the adoption center. No one except Mrs. Wang came out to say goodbye to him, and he was not affected by that either.

He waved goodbye to Mrs. Wang before leaving to venture in the unknown world alone. At 16 years old, he could find a simple job by now.

But of course. . . That wasn't what he was going to do.

--- 10 years later

Mo Han sat down in the large black chair, flipping a pen around in his hands. In merely 10 years, he had built up an empire for himself.

But not just any empire. An underworld empire. Something nothing else could compare to.

There was a knock on the door and he opened his eyes, saying in a soft and cold tone, "Come in."

K entered the room and bowed down slightly before saying, "Sir, Qi Lulu's DNA does not match up with the person you are looking for."

Mo Han slammed his fist onto the table angrily, "Then keep looking!"

K quickly left the room and continued to go look for the girl that Mo Han was looking for. Why was he even looking for that girl?

Mo Han closed his eyes again and placed his hand over his forehead frustratingly. He had promised her that he would go and find her, but it had been over 20 years already, and he still hadn't seen her once.

The adoption center had closed down a few years after he left and there were no records of which family she had been adopted into and what her new name was.

Without any hints or clues, he had absolutely no direction of where to look.

Even as the King of the Underworld, it was taking a very long time.

--- 10 years later

"Sir, it has been confirmed. An Luxia is the girl you are looking for."

Mo Han's eyes brightened as he stood up, "Are you certain?"

"100%"

His pupils dilated as he turned around and immediately grabbed his suit jacket, "Let's go."

--- Present

"So you were the one that kidnapped me!" An Luxia exclaimed after Mo Han told her how he had his people knock him out and bring her to his house.

Mo Han cleared his throat awkwardly and scratched his head, "Well. . . I was scared you wouldn't come with me since I was a stranger. I didn't expect things to turn out so smoothly."

An Luxia smiled softly, still unable to believe everything she just heard.

She had given up hope on ever seeing Mo Yelin again, which was also why she finally agreed to marry Mo Han. Never would she have imagined that Mo Han was Mo Yelin! And he had been looking for her all this time!

"So you never stopped looking for Li Yixin. . . me?" She asked, feeling a sour feeling grow in her nose.

Mo Han nodded, "Never."

At once, An Luxia could not help but burst into tears. It almost seemed like all the emotions she felt while waiting all these years came flooding out, and she couldn't even stop herself.

Mo Han's eyes widened slightly as he took a step forward, "You - Why are you crying?"

An Luxia lifted her hand up, still sobbing as she wiped her cheeks, "Yes, can't you tell?!"

Mo Han blinked a few times in distress and scratched the back of his head innocently, "Um. . . Don't cry. . . If you're mad at me, you can hit me. I'm sorry. . ."

Hearing that, An Luxia's sobs only turned even worse as she started crying even more loudly, "I'm not mad at you! I'm just - I'm just. . . just. . . wahhh!!!"

An Luxia was at a loss for words because she herself didn't even know why she was crying. Maybe it was because she was surprised and emotional that Mo Han was Mo Yelin. . . Or because it had been almost 20 years already since she had last seen her first love. . . Or maybe because she had been waiting for him for almost 20 years now. . . All in all, she was crying.

And she couldn't stop.

Mo Han lifted his arms up and then put them down awkwardly, not sure what to do. Finally, he took another step forward and slowly lifted one arm up, patting An Luxia on the head.

"It's okay. . . Don't cry. . . It's all okay."

An Luxia continued to cry as she leaned forward, wrapping her arms around Mo Han's waist and burying her head into his chest.

At once, Mo Han felt the thin shirt he was wearing wetten from the tears and maybe even some snot.

However, he did not move as he pulled her in and hugged her tightly, still not sure about why she was crying. Did he say something wrong?

"Oh! And um. . . I didn't tell you earlier because I was scared you wouldn't agree. . . if I told you," he said, his voice slowly getting softer and softer as he spoke.

An Luxia looked up with her eyes red, "Wouldn't agree? To what? Why?"

"To. . ." Mo Han scratched his head, "marry me."

An Luxia raised one eyebrow and the next second, she slapped him hard on his chest, "Are you stpuid?! Why would I disagree? Remember the promise I made to ma -"

An Luxia suddenly covered up her mouth and gulped, "Um. . . Anyway, if you had told me earlier, maybe I wouldn't have been so scared to marry you!"

"Really?" Mo Han knit his eyebrows together, "I'm scary?"

"Yes." An Luxia said very seriously.

"Very."

---

The lights were all closed and all An Luxia could see was the black silk bathrobe Mo Han was wearing as she laid on the bed inside his warm embrace.

The summer air engulfed her, making her very hot and a little uncomfortable.

Maybe that was just an excuse to not admit that she was feeling hot because of being so close to Mo Han. . .

"What happened after I left the adoption center?"

Mo Han gently ran his fingers through her hair, "I stayed there alone for several years. . . When I turned 16, I left and. . . some things happened and I formed the HLX."

An Luxia could tell that Mo Han didn't want to tell her exactly what had happened during that time, and she didn't force him to.

"I missed you so much," An Luxia said.

She had been trying to hide and lie to herself and pushing away all possible thoughts of the little boy named Mo Yelin.

It was a great feeling to know that she did not need to continue suppressing her true thoughts and feelings.

"Me too."
