The Wife of Hades

Chapter 43 - I Am Mo Yelin

Her eyes widened as she stared at the image on the screen. This. . .

At this moment, the door opened and Mo Han walked in.

An Luxia flinched from the sudden noise and her eyes darted up. They looked straight into each other's eyes, one with shock and one with confusion.

There were a few seconds of silence before Mo Han took a step forward, "What's wrong? It's time for bed. Come on, let's go."

An Luxia gulped before looking back at the computer screen, furrowing her eyebrows together, "How do you have this picture?"

Mo Han's back stiffened immediately as he remembered what his computer lock screen was. It took several seconds before he was finally able to force out an awkward smile and walk over, "This. . ."

An Luxia narrowed her eyes and looked between the picture and Mo Han again. After several times, she tilted her head slightly as she felt her heartbeat speed up, "You. . . Are you him?"

She asked, pointing at the boy in the picture.

The bright computer screen showed a picture of a young boy and girl, standing next to each other, the boy holding the girl's hand.

The girl had a bright smile on her face whereas the boy had a small smile that was still evident as he glanced at the short girl next to him.

Mo Han took a deep breath, knowing that there was no point in hiding it anymore. What could he say? Oh, the boy on the screen was his twin brother? No one would believe him, especially An Luxia!

Mo Han slowly nodded his head, but before he could say anything or explain himself, another question came his way.

"Did you know I was Li Yixin all this time?" An Luxia scrunched her face up slightly upon saying her biological name, which sounded like a stranger to her.

Mo Han nodded again.

"Did you marry me because you knew I was Li Yixin."

Mo Han thought for a while before saying, "That was the original reason."

An Luxia raised one eyebrow, "So it isn't now?"

"It was the reason that got us together, but now, it is more than that. . . Kind of like how you liked me because of my appearance."

The computer screen turned black after a while and An Luxia didn't open it up again. She stared at Mo Han for several seconds, still unable to believe that he was the little boy that had given her the ring she was wearing right now -

"I am Mo Yelin."

"Eat!" The old and fat man screamed to the group of kids sitting around a few plates of food.

Mo Han, who had the name of Mo Yelin back then looked up and clenched his fists together without saying anything. Since he could remember, he had grown up in this adoption center.

The old owner of this adoption center when he was 3 was a very nice old woman, but after she died and sold the adoption center to this man, the lives of all the children here had gone downhill.

The group of kids all looked towards Mo Han, who sighed before beginning to eat. If they didn't eat this leftover food, then they would all starve.

Seeing that Mo Han was eating it, the other kids also began eating.

"Xiner is gone," one of the girls exclaimed as they ate.

Mo Han's hand froze slightly when he heard this before he continued to eat, "She left to go eat better food."

The little girl's eyes lit up, "Really? I want to go!"

Mo Han shot her a glare and mouthed the word "stupid" before continuing to eat. Only she knew where the girl Xiner had gone.

Not only did the owner of this adoption center feed them disgusting food, but he also sold the older girls who were still children to bars or as. . . prostitutes so he could earn money. In fact, he only bought this adoption center for money.

Mo Han gulped as he swallowed down the food that tasted like vomit before dropping his fork. If only he had some evidence! Or proof of what that disgusting man was doing!

But he lived here too. . . He couldn't act rashly.

---

Late in the evening, Mo Han left his room that he shared with nine other little boys and made his way to the kitchen since he was on cleaning duty that day.

To save money, the owner had fired all the ladies that used to work here and forced them to take turns doing all the work.

Mo Han moved a stool over to the sink and stood on it so he could reach the dishes in the sink. He took a look at the sparkling silver ring he was wearing on his thumb and thought for a few seconds.

He had this ring with him since birth, and the previous owner had told him that when she found him on the steps outside the adoption center, he was wearing it already.

Mo Han slowly took the ring off and carefully placed it next to the sink before starting to do the dishes.

About ten minutes later, there was a sudden bang and crash as half of the lights were suddenly turned off.

Mo Han stopped all his movements and closed the sink, looking up to see the owner stumble into the kitchen with a bottle of beer in his hands.

His fat cheeks were very red and as he walked, he occasionally tripped over himself, almost falling several times.

Mo Han rolled his eyes and continued to wash the dishes, thinking that the owner would leave sooner or later.

However, he made his way over to the sink, staring at Mo Han before his eyes moved down to the sparkling object next to the sink.

Mo Han obviously noticed his change of expression, and he immediately closed the sink and snatched the ring away, holding it tightly in his small hand.

The owner flinched slightly and rubbed his eye before holding his hand out, "Give that to me!"
