The Wife of Hades

Chapter 141 - Shen Liya's Identity

An Luxia was just about to ask Shen Liya why she was here when Mo Siyan spoke first with a wide smile on his face, "I'm sure you have met Shen Liya already, my niece."

An Luxia's mouth fell open as she stared at Shen Liya, and the shock finally truly hit her when she saw no reaction from Shen Liya, which meant that it was the truth.

Then, all the puzzle pieces finally fit together. A million thoughts seemed to flash past her head at once, and when she finally figured it out, she felt her legs weaken even though she was seated.

So it was Shen Liya. . . Was Shen Liya the one who. . .

"Shen Liya, you were the one who poisoned me," she said, not as a question but as a statement. Shen Liya still refused to make any eye contact with her, and no emotion flashed past her face as well, almost as if she did not hear.

Mo Siyan laughed again, "Smart, smart. Yes, it was her. It was always her! Hahahaha! She was the one who injected the Trap into your body."

Shen Liya listened to all of this without any change in expression, as if none of this had anything to do with her. If An Luxia did not know, she would almost think that Shen Liya was a mere robot.

An Luxia thought back and the memories of the milk tea and times they ate together came back, "When was it?"

Mo Siyan scrunched his nose together and tilted his head towards his niece, "The first dose. Do you remember?"

Shen Liya folded her arms together and nodded, "February."

An Luxia's eyes widened as she thought back and remembered the first time when she drank milk tea from Shen Liya. It was back in February. . . When she first came to the school, Mo Han was gone. It was before Mo Han had gotten hurt, before her novel had blown up, before. . . before so many things.

And now, it was late into August already. Six months had gone by since the first dose of Trap had entered her body. Six months. . . She was nearing her death.

Mo Han also noticed this same thing and his face darkened as he glared at Shen Liya, who did not look at either of them, her eyes fixed at a point in the distance.

"It seems like your death date is coming soon, right?" Mo Siyan said cheerfully, and at once, there was a loud commotion as Mo Han jumped up from the couch, pulling out a handgun from his pocket, the one he had been touching outside earlier.

There was a click as he loaded the gun and pointed it directly at Mo Siyan's forehead in a position ready to shoot, "Give me the cure or I will shoot you."

Mo Han had also let the blood and anger get to him, as he did not think and acted rashly, knowing well enough that this was Mo Siyan's territory and there was no way that threatening him would work.

Indeed, it did not, because Mo Siyan was not alarmed at all as he merely shrugged and at once, the door burst open and the room was filled with people in black outfits with snake tattoos on their arms pointing their gun at not Mo Han, but An Luxia.

An Luxia felt her muscles tighten and a chill ran down her spine as all the empty holes pointed at her, all of them ready to kill her within a second.

"You shoot me, they shoot her," Mo Siyan said simply, relaxed as he closed his eyes and leaned forward slightly, closer to Mo Han's gun.

Mo Han glared at Mo Siyan, not very surprised but he was furious as he slowly lowered the gun, his hand quivering. An Luxia looked at Mo Han worriedly and grabbed onto his hand, pulling him back towards her.

"You -"

Mo Siyan quickly cut An Luxia off, not giving her the chance to speak, "Ms. An, don't be so selfish, right? My son comes with me, and you live. Now isn't that perfect?"

An Luxia's heart twisted up in pain and anger when she heard that, and she could not help but think she was being too selfish. But was she being selfish by not wanting to die or being selfish by wanting to be with Mo Han? Or perhaps she was selfish by wanting both.

Mo Han was not pleased to hear his dad calling his wife selfish and he grabbed onto An Luxia's hand, pulling her towards the door to leave.

All of the men immediately rushed towards Mo Han, blocking the door and stopping him from leaving, however, Mo Siyan put one hand up, "Let them go."

Everyone, including An Luxia, was surprised when they heard Mo Siyan's words, and it took a few seconds before the men stepped aside, creating a path for the two of them.

"I will give you time, but I am not a patient person," Mo Siyan said softly, "Once she dies, she's dead. You cannot bring back a dead person. It will be too late."

Mo Han's grip tightened around An Luxia's hand when he heard this, and then, he marched out of the room in long strides. He led her up the stairs to the ground level and several people looked at them, but no one stopped them as Mo Han found the door and walked out back into the open forest.

An Luxia breathed in the cold fresh night air and squinted her eyes together by the bright light coming from the flashlights.

"Mr. Mo," several people called as they ran over, checking to make sure he was okay. They were all relieved to see Mrs. Mo as well, but K could tell that something was not right.

"Let's go," Mo Han said as he began walking out of the forest, and the men followed. As they got further and further away from the building, Mo Han bent down, his back in front of An Luxia, "Get on."

An Luxia was indeed a little tired after not getting a lot of rest, but she shook her head, "It's okay, I'm fine."

She grabbed onto his hand and pulled him up and Mo Han was going to offer to carry her again, but she began walking forward, so he did not say anything and followed her.

After a while, they reached the helicopter again, which was on the large plain in front of the forest. The pilot and co-pilot were still in the helicopter, and they jumped out when they saw the people coming back.

"Mr. Mo," the pilot said, walking over.

"Let's go home."

Mo Han helped An Luxia up onto the helicopter, helping her tie her seatbelt and putting the headphones over her ears as they sat down next to each other. Within a few minutes, the helicopter was up in the sky, flying over the lands back to Country Z.

Because the helicopter sounds were so loud, An Luxia and Mo Han did not speak to each other the entire ride home. An Luxia had her eyes tightly shut together, but her brain was running furiously.

The thought that she was slowly dying still could not process yet. She was still in her 20s, and there was still so much for her to do. She wanted to have a wedding, have kids with Mo Han, raise her kids up and watch them become adults with their own lives, and. . . how would her family react?

An Luxia tried not to breathe too loudly as she pressed her lips tightly together. But Mo Han. . . How could he go with a father like that? There was no way he would be happy living with a person as crazy as Mo Siyan.

She could not let him go to Mo Siyan. Even though Mo Han was the King of the Underworld right now, he was nothing like it. He had a great life and was a kind-hearted and warm man. With his father, An Luxia could be certain that in no time, Mo Han would become unrecognizable.

She could not let that happen.

After about three hours, the helicopter landed on the mountaintop, and An Luxia opened her eyes, getting off of the helicopter and onto the land of Country Z.

The sun of the new day was rising already, and the beautiful blend of golden orange set on the mountaintop, warming up the cold and empty mansion.

An Luxia grabbed onto Mo Han's hand, "Let's go home."

--- Country A

The people in the room all left and only Shen Liya and Mo Siyan were left inside the large living room. Shen Liya sat down across from her uncle and raised one eyebrow, finally showing a hint of expression on her blank face.

"Uncle, how are you so sure that Mo Han will end up coming with you? What if An Luxia just dies. . . "

Mo Siyan grinned and shook his head, standing up and walking out of the room, "Don't worry about it. I did my research.. Mo Han loves An Luxia way too much to just let her die."
