The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Chapter 326 - Maid And The Young Miss

Esma's brain hanged for a moment as she heard Alcina's name. She had an urge to strangle that girl not for disclosing her identity but for coming to this family. Didn't she tell her not to come here? Did she want to die? Dammit, if not for her own good, she needed to think about her daughter's well-being now!

"You see guys, we are done here." With this said, Esma turned to go back but was stopped when she heard the voice which she wasn't supposed.

"We are not done here, young lady," Grandma Mian announced. "You are free to leave the house and never come back but not before taking what belongs to you."

Slowly Esma turned back to see Grandma Mian holding some official papers in her hands. She passed the papers to Esma who didn't even know why she took them in the first place.

'Property and share transfer papers.'

"Take the papers, young lady and we will be even."

The papers fell on the ground from her hands and she clenched her fists tightly while she stood there stone cold. 'We will be even.' These words were echoing in her head.

Slowly, she picked up the papers from the ground and walked out of the house with a smile.

"The meeting is dismissed," Long Jie said as soon as Esma walked out of the door.

Outside, Esma was breathing heavily while leaning against the wall. She was pressing on her heart to stop the palpitations. She felt as if the earth below her was about to swallow her whole. Before she could fall unconscious, someone caught her and took her away from there.

______

Currently, Esma was seeing a fragment of her memories playing in her dreams like a horror film. No one could imagine that this mischievous girl had experienced the horror which no girl would ever wish on her worst enemies.

Getting physically and emotionally abused by a man who she considered her father wasn't something that she could forget in a single day. Hell, it had been more than a decade since she was free of that monster. Still, she could not escape the panic attacks that she would experience when triggered. This was the reason why Long Jie never allowed her to meet anyone from the Long family.

Even after his death, she was plaguing her dreams. She wondered if she would ever be free of his clutches.

Unconsciously, tears streamed down her cheek and she flapped her arms to get him off her body. She wanted to shout for help but his hand was muffling his cries of help.

She felt a soft hand wiping her tears and someone caressed her face tenderly, she relaxed believing that she was safe again.Maybe, Ah-Jie had saved her from that monster again.

Hours later when Esma opened her eyes, she found herself in a small room. Judging from the appearance of the room and scenery outside the small window, she could discern that she was still somewhere inside the Long Mansion.

As she was trying to get out of the bed, she heard a soft and melodious voice talking to her," Oh, are you awake now? Let me get you some water."

Esma watched Ada sprinting to fetch her water. Silently, she took the glass from her hands and drank it.

"Why are you still here?" Esma asked her in a hoarse voice.

"Umm? You want me to leave the room?" Ada asked her in confusion.

Esma took a deep breath before saying, "You know that's not what I mean to say. I'm asking you why you are still in Long residence?"

"Because I work for Mrs. Long and she pays me quite well," Ada answered her honestly. Who would pay a mere assistant like her ten times more than the original salary? She just needed to work for a couple of months and then she would save enough to join the college .

"You do not need money, Ada," Esma said to her. A hint of anger is present in her voice.

"So, you finally recognize me," Ada said with a smile. "Last time, you refused to acknowledge my existence. I thought you would do the same."

"Do not change the topic, Ada," Esma snapped. "I told you to leave this job. Xin Zhenyi is a dangerous woman. If she knew you were acquainted with me, she could harm you. As for the topic of money, I left you the card, didn't I?"

Ada smiled and began fumbling through the drawers. "Here is your credit card. You forgot it with me last time." She placed the card near Esma and continued," Take this. It's yours."

Esma had to take deep breaths again to calm her down. "Why are you doing this, Ada? I left it for you. I just wished to help you because I know how desperate you were to attend college this fall."

"Your intention was just to help me but unknowingly, you made me feel so small, Esma," Ada said straight to her. " I was just a pawn in your game, I realized it when I had fallen for you. But don't you worry, now my eyes are as open as they should be back then. Thank you for your help, Miss Esma. I do not need this card now as I will be able to save up the money I need to attend college this fall because of my employer."

Only Ada knew what was going through right now. When Esma entered the living room of the main hall, she was standing a little away from Zhenyi. Esma might not have noticed her, but she did. After all, all she could see whenever she was in the same room was her. Love had made her so stupid that she thought that one day when she would stand on her own feet, she would do everything in her power to be equal to her and do everything that it took to make her see her love for her.

But all those dreams of Ada were shattered today when she realized that it was no more possible for her -- a maid and young miss of the Long family.

She understood this now why Esma used to say that she was just a momentary attraction to her.
