The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

Chapter 264 - Two Enemies Who Found Their Home In Each Other

[A few minutes earlier ]

A woman clad in a white suit was staring at the two figures standing at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Office with angry and sad eyes.

'I warned you, little girl, didn't I? I cautioned you beforehand not to eye someone else's man, but you didn't listen to my warnings. You know better than anyone else how to feel to steal something that belonged to someone else, but it seems you forgot it so soon. But don't worry, I have prepared a perfect wedding gift for both of you. Don't worry this time it's not a little poisonous snake.'

As she was about to step ahead, a pair of muscular arms caught her by the waist and pulled her back.

"I refrained you from coming near them, didn't I?" He glared at her.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She glared at him back.

He refused to listen to her angry words and kept on dragging her back to the car. Once they were inside the car, he thundered.

"Will you tell me what you were doing here?"

"Why should I tell you? It's not your life that had turned upside down in a single day. It's mine," she yelled furiously. She held her head in her hands tightly as if it would burst anytime. Although her eyes were red and teary, she refused to let the tears fall. Tears are a sign of weakness and she was no weak. " Sam, I don't know what to do anymore. I lost the essence of my life today. I lost him. I lost everything. He chose her in end. He chose her instead of me. It had always been her, didn't she? I didn't mean anything to him. Are you hearing me?"

He answered her with silence. He didn't recognize this miserable woman. The woman he met two months ago was proud as a peacock and cocky as hell. If it was a day before, she could have killed him for touching her, much less than holding her by her waist.

"Do you love him or does he love you?" Sam asked her directly.

"No. We don't love each other," She replied immediately. She didn't even know what 'love' was. She hadn't experienced love and warmth ever.

"Then why on earth are you acting like an insane? Why is your heart so restless seeing him marry her?"

"Bad, bad heart," She whispered while breaking down. " How could I want a man who is so bad for me? A man who probably had his mind set on throwing me aside once he got what he needed from me. You know what else is bad? All of these stupid and heavenly feelings that are rushing through me at the thought of him. Sometimes I think, I'm the biggest fool in the world, and at the same time I think I'm the luckiest woman in the world-- I got to hold him, feel him, and most importantly I got him at least for a short time, but I did."

Sam sighed and patted her shoulder to console her. He had no words to say to her. She had been bottling up her emotions inside her which was no good for her.

"Let's go back!"

"No! I want to see him marrying her with my eyes. I want to feel how it felt to be hurt by him once again," She stubbornly said. Her eyes still fixed on Ryuu's side silhouette.

"He didn't hurt you," Sam said with a sigh. "You asked for it. You let him go to her."

"I just removed the obstacles that were standing in his way from marrying her," She asked him with a bitter smile. "How did I ask for it?"

"If you hadn't arranged that boy with her cousin, she would have married him, not the sarcastic devil--"

"Call him devil again, and see how I poison you right here!"

"I'm your only friend in this time of heartbreak," Sam said, folding up his arms behind his head. "And you don't want to lose me during this miserable time of yours."

"You're just the baby sitter that man arranged to keep an eye on me." She was ruthless with her words."I wonder how someone tolerated you for twenty five years when I can't even think about spending twenty five seconds in your presence.'

"Aye! You don't leave a chance to remind me of my best friend," Sam said faking sad expressions.

She pointed towards the black Cadillac standing in the distance,"Go, meet her. She is right there."

Sam shook his head. "She would ask questions and I can't lie to her. Moreover, we aren't supposed to be here in this country. Let's go back before the dev *cough* Ryuu gets to know."

"He won't know," She answered him in utter confidence. If it was someone else Sam wouldn't have believed, but it was her. She was the queen of disguises. It wasn't the first time Ryuu failed to know her whereabouts. After all, just like him, she lived up to his reputation.

She watched Ryuu going inside the Civil Affairs office with his soon to be wife and Zhenyi's car departing. Her eyes didn't blink until Ryuu and Ming Jie emerged with red booklets in their hands.

She turned towards Sam and smiled," Congratulations on getting a sister-in-law."

Sam let out a sigh. "It's time for you to move on. You give him a reason to leave you and he did. There is nothing you can do about it. Let's go back home."

She just nodded. 'My home has shattered, Sam. There is no home for me anywhere.'

She turned back one last,' I give you a reason to leave because I want you to find a reason to stay in return. You were not there to stay, Ryuu and so, you eventually left. And why would you stay? We were nothing to each other-- not family, not lovers, and not even friends. We were just two enemies who somehow found their home in each other and today, that home shattered right in front of my eyes.

I forgive you for the sake of being my home for a while, but not her."
