The Typhoon's Dangerous Wife

A few hours later 

"Father-in-law, do you have any idea what you are talking about?" Long Jie asked Xin Yichen. What on earth was going in his mind? And for a minute, he really thought he would agree to his bizarre suggestion. He has got to be kidding him. 

First Esma, now Xin Yichen, was the universe planning on giving him a heart attack? Why couldn't something go as he planned? Again, he looked at his father-in-law in bewilderment. 

"I know you may find it a little odd but you have to see where I'm coming from. She is my daughter and you know quite well that I just want her wellness and nothing else, son," said Xin Yichen. "She has already suffered so much and if we can lessen her pain and suffering by omitting a simple fact what's wrong in it?"

Everything was wrong with it and how couldn't see it? His suggestion or order or whatever it was, was wrong and sinful. He was already a sinner and why was the universe persistent in urging him to commit one more? He was not just lying to Zhenyi, it was thievery. 

"Little odd? Long Jie sarcastically laughed and shook his head mirthlessly. "It's akin to betrayal. She will never forgive us if we do this ever. Do you know it will hurt her more?" 

How could Xin yichen ask him to lie to her wife? He had begged God to give her another chance at life and when He bestowed her with it, how could he not hold the part of his bargain? He promised never to lie or hide anything from her and now her father was asking him to do such a thing. 

Never. He wouldn't do it. Zhenyi would never forgive them. Why couldn't they see that she had a soul of steel? She was so strong, so tough that she could even defeat grim reaper and came back to him. Then, why couldn't all of them see her? What happened all of a sudden? 

"Long Jie, she is my daughter and I will never try to hurt her even if that's what you are worried about," said Xin Yichen. His eyes shining with raw ache. " I'm her father and I do have every right to make decisions on her behalf. She is hurt and in pain and as a father I can't worsen if not lessen it." 

Long Jie took a deep breath and glanced at Xin Yichen. He held Xin Yichen by circling his arms around his shoulders and made him sit on the couch. He knelt on the floor and then held his hand, and spoke in a very soft and gentle tone. 

"Bà…" It was Long Jie's first time calling him Bà and Xin Yichen trembled hearing the sincerity in his voice. "I respect and admire you not just as a clan leader but also as a father. " He paused and smiled a little. "Your daughter sings praises of you whenever she is given the chance or even if she is not given one, she will just quote you where she deems fit. " He chuckled remembering an incident. "She declared war against my mom because she said something about you and your wife. I know you are an amazing father or maybe even more than amazing." 

Xin Yichen wouldn't deny he was not moved by what Long Jie had just said now. And as for declaring war against Song Lily, he laughed inwardly. This was so Zhenyi. How could someone belittle her parents? She wouldn't let them to. He was surprised that how she didn't took out her gun and pointed at her. 

Long Jie continued, " But this, I can't accept it. She is your daughter and you have every right to her but please tell me are we entitled to take decisions on her behalf?" 

Long Jie was right Zhenyi would raise hell if someone dared to make any decision on her behalf and especially if it concerned her too much. She wouldn't take it easy. She never did. Heck, she would teach you a lesson and made sure that you never forgot it again. 

He didn't stop just here. " But she is my wife too and I am not capable enough of lying to her. Not telling her or even hiding it from her is akin to lying. She has every right to know about it. I understand the pregnancy was unplanned and an accident and we lost the baby even before we could know about it. She was not ready for it, I agree, but she would have loved and cherished it more than anyone I know. Don't take away her right to grieve and mourn the life we created together. Even if I agree to hide it as you suggested, we won't be able to keep it for long and we both know it too. So, please think over it again." 

It was not just lying, it was a theft too. When they would lie to her, they would steal Zhenyi's right to mourn over the baby, they would steal her of crying for that little soul that couldn't even come to this world, and most of all they would steal her right to feel what ever she wanted to feel for it. It was her call to take no theirs. 

Xin Yichen didn't say anything for long and just stared at the blankness. He was a helpless father. If one saw the situation from his point of view, he was not wrong either. Zhenyi's past with death and loss was too heavy and painful that he didn't want to add another to that long list.

She didn't just lose her mother in that accident and he hadn't only lost his wife…there was much more to that unfortunate accident years ago, but how could he make Long Jie see his point of view because if he did then he had to open all the secrets that he had buried deep inside his heart and memories.
