The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 406 - Escaping Her House!

In the night.

It was already dark and around eleven in the night, as the darkness had already started to surround the sky. After having the early dinner, everyone had already retarded to their bed in the Taylor family.

While bidding each other goodbye, Jennifer had maintained a cordial relationship with everyone, with her happy face. Everyone was relieved for her after seeing her in such a delightful mood that they all had the toast of the wines.

But she didn't drink either.

Knowing that most of the members of her family must be heavily passed out in their beds, did Jennifer finally open her eyes while lying on the bed.

Looking at the ceiling above her of the bedroom, subconsciously, she shifted her attention beside herself, where she saw Hannah sleeping in the deep slumber as well.

'Sorry Hannah but I will have to take this risk, all by myself...' with this thought, she slowly and steadily got out from her blanket. Keeping her pillows beneath the same, she covered it entirely with the same cover that she was using.

Afterward, Jennifer went inside to her bathroom, to remove her nightgown. Beneath it, came out that she was wearing a bodycon black one piece. It suited her curves, displaying her a bit of cleavage as well.

But rather, she took the same trench coat of the morning and wore it above it. Coming out of her bathroom, she also took her phone and handbag, before Jennifer walked closer to the window and opened it without making any noise. Seeing that the ladder was already ready, which she had kept earlier in the morning, Jennifer took her longboats into her hand before she climbed the ladder that was leading to the backside of her house.

It was hard, initially with the tight dress she wore. However, with the utmost care, Jennifer finally landed on the road outside of her house. There, she wore her boots before Jennifer flashed her hair again. 'Now it is time to find a taxi....'

Pulling her coat closer to her body, Jennifer started to walk on the road with care. Coming on the main roads, she saw that it was mostly quiet. Yet, not enough where she isn't able to find any taxi either.

Looking at her mobile phone, she saw the taxi she had booked was on its way before the taxi came and just stopped in front of her eyes. Stepping inside, she locked the door before she stared at the driver.

"Where would you like to go, ma'am? You didn't give the destination...while booking.."

"Y-yeah..." Jenifer took out a handwritten address that was present in her coat's pocket before she handed the same piece of paper to the driver, "Take me to the written address...."

…..

Whereas, in the penthouse of Jack.

Sitting on the dining table with his mother, there weren't many lights that were lited. Eating the food with the help of the spoon, he was wearing a normal grey colored shirt with black pajamas.

With the deep silence that was resting around them, there was no way that any of them had the wish to start a conversation. But in the middle, when Veronica noticed the downsides of Jack, she finally commented, "You know that you can also call her if you want to."

"It isn't about her anymore, mother." Jack told her bluntly without lifting his gaze, "Things are already messed up so much, I don't find any reason to interact with her anymore in this."

"Then find anyone new. There are many girls out there who must be ready to date a handsome man  like you." Veronica can't understand why her son was still single?

Knowing about the feud that took place between him and his ex-girlfriend, she won't blame him either. He was busy with the official affairs for some time, making both of them go their separate ways. Neither was heaven in favor of them since there was no ending to their relationships fights.

Finally putting the spoon on the plate, Veronica saw his downcasted shoulders and sharply responded, "Jack, you can't be alone in your entire life either."

Hearing the serious tone of hers, a scoff left his lips. Moving his gaze in her direction, he answered with a short sentence, "If I'm meant to be with someone, she will come to me directly. There won't be any need for me to find them...destiny will find me one."

"Oh god, this destiny!"

Veronica had already lost all her hopes from the word hope and destiny. She doesn't believe in the same anymore, as her heart and intuition only gave her the worst memories when she had let these words enter into her life.

Going through the same pain didn't seem to please her mind either.

But seeing her given expressions, Jack can't blame her either. A faint smile started to trace his lips when he continued to eat his food without letting his thoughts be aloud.

Soon after, when both of them have finished their dinner, they got up before Jack bids his mother goodbye. Giving her the kiss on her cheeks, he saw her retarding to her room whereas he climbed the two stories penthouse's stairs and came on his floor.

Since he has come from the Smith family mansion, he hasn't come up. It was all pure darkness that was omitted. When he came across the darkness, it lifted his lips.

Rather than going to his own bedroom, he made his way to the minibar at the corner which rested in the deepest and darkest part of the entire penthouse. He wasn't interested in drinking, but when his legs made their way there on the town, he stood there with the help of the shelf.

With the faint light that was present around him, nothing made him see either around him or anywhere else.

But then, he surely did say, "Are you here to kill me, Ms. Taylor?"
