The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 390 - Ellen Lied..!

On the other hand, Ellen could feel his heart was on the edge of being ripped out. There was no denying that he regretted whatever he spoke on the phone.

'If only I was asked to tell them the truth..'

He can't even imagine how unhappy Jenifer might be because of the same.

Losing her love..her husband, he could relate how worse it feels to be separated from your loved ones...

Gripping the phone near his heart, his jaw tightened. Finally, he turned around to find none other than Charles, who had his hands folded. Since Ellen was standing on the terrace,  both of their hair was flying.

But there is no denying that Charles had also kept the typical strictness aura around him. "Who called you?"

"Jennifer. She was asking about Javier's whereabouts." Ellen answered honestly, to which Charles was surprised.

"They called? But how? I heard that it isn't allowed to be called from the other side, except the few people who possess the power. Majorly, Lucas Smith." Charles's tone soured when he mentioned the bastard's name out of his tongue.

"Well..she has Hannah with her. Hannah is good with these kinds of things." Learning this, Charles was a bit shocked, "She broke the barrier?"

In response, Ellen nodded his head. He had lived with her, under one roof. For how long can he not pay attention to what others are doing?

He was also curious about her jobs and found out that she works for an IT company. It was natural for him to know that she must have been really good to get into the company, she was in right now.

"That is...something unexpected. But, these people do have many secrets." Charles commented but then, his brows twisted, "How come you know about the same?"

"Oh, c'mon, Charles!" he wasn't in the mood to answer as he walked past him and made his way inside the building.

From the back, Charles immediately heard his yell, "Come! I'm going down."

Tugging his hand into his pockets, Charles finally turned around to walk with his mate as they both were going through the passage. They were in their base office, as many of their employees were working right now, the majority on their desktops.

While Javier has turned this into a secret company, some were also official in case of emergency purposes.

Both Ellen and Charles walked through the different places, then they entered into the elevator, pressing the ground floor.

"I won't ask you thought about the girl, but what did you answer to Jennifer?" That was Charles interested to learn.

Shrugging his shoulders, Ellen told, "Just how he wanted me to say. That he isn't in any good condition..she was broken."

"Can be expected. After all, they both are husband and wife...and in love.." Charles didn't show much of his expressions either.

They both finally came out of the elevator when they found themselves in the extensive basement. It had many rooms there around, in some, people were supposed to be trained, while in some, their worker's IQ was tested.

It was a hub for the firearms to be tested and some major mafia- place.

When Ellen and Charles reached the corner, they saw a large transparent glass out of the room, and inside, a patient was lying.

While the entire basement was overcome with darkness, a minimum source of light, the room did shine bright in the color.

With the white walls inside the room, both the man can see from outside the doctor standing and doing his work.

"He is recovering," Ellen muttered.

"Indeed. It is a success." Charles only believed that this was no less than any miracle that surfaced.

Who knows what pulled Javier out of his extensive surgeries but he was able to open his eyes.

And gratefully, without any memory loss!

Both the giant men finally opened the door leading inside the room when they appeared. Their presence gained the doctor's attention, as well as awaked Javier's.

First of all, Charles extended his hand to shake with the doctor when he asked while motioning towards Javier. "How is he doing right now?"

"Better, Mr. Johnson. We are seeing immense improvement in the second master Johnsons. It is really commendable that his injuries are recovering."

"What about the bullet wounds?" Ellen asked for a bit when he remembered how many bullets were actually fired at his friend.

There was no harm in saying that the major blood loss was all because of the wounds that occurred due to the bullet. They did hear that there was another blood found mixed with his, but it was still very unclear whose.

The only assumption they took was of Jennifer since no one was present out there from their side, who could be killed either.

The doctor looked at Ellen to answer back, "You are correct, the wound is still there but it isn't life-threatening. It will be healed very soon so nothing to worry about."

Hearing this, the men were relieved. Though Javier didn't reach much, it could be expected that he was eagerly waiting to get up from his bed.

Afterward, the doctor left after the normal routine check-up. The three giant men were left in their room. while Javier had still kept this poker face on.

At the same time, Ellen can't help but sigh on seeing him like this since the days!

"Till when are you thinking of being moody, Javier?" Ellen can't help but ask when he recalled that Javier had already started to isolate himself from others.

His words each day can be even counted on the fingers, worrying Ellen and Charles deeply.

Javier was still not in the space to answer back but he still told them, "No answer."

When they both saw that Javier was indifferent, did the heart grow with Prague. There was no denying that it made them feel heartache for this man, who has literally lost everything.

A girl, who he loved more than his own life, nothing can be said to him, to put him inside the comfort.

But to bring more expressions of Javier's, Charles finally put the bomb out.

"Jenifer called Ellen today."
