The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 327 - Power Of Love!

With the absolute silence covering around, all she felt was the heaviness lingering nearby her. "You did all the formalities required?"

"I did. These papers are what you wanted and my promise to you, wasn't it so?" Just from his voice, Sierra could sense the lack of emotions that he wanted to display.

Only if he knew that she has already learned the changes that take place in his demore with the time.

Her lips were sealed into a straight line as her eyes lowered down. 'This is… not good…'

With the night, the entire view from the balcony gave the sign of the high-rise residential building, and the condos' lights were already switched on.

At the same time, Siera can feel the cold breeze hitting against the soft surface of her warm cheeks. Yet what hurt her the more was the realization which she went through.

"Jack…" she called his name, with the full tenderness to recall their conversation before she continued, "You know.. the situation."

"I don't blame you either. It is necessary. To keep you and our children protected, if this is the key then let's do it. After all, there was no mutual love in our marriage." Jack's words were insincere when Siera wanted to stop the man in between.

But her heart never gathered enough courage to do so, since this was what she felt was correct according to the circumstances they lived in. 'Sierra.. you have landed yourself in the wrong place..' this thought kept on circulating inside her mind.

Subconsciously, her hands feel like rubbing her shoulders and hugging them tight, "But you said before marriage that.."

"That I will somehow in turn make you fall for me? Seems like I failed to do so as you are no less stubborn in love with the man of your past." Jack's answer made Siera bit her lower lip in guilt.

She never made it very obvious ever, but her heart always lied with someone else.

It never budged even for a mere second, despite seeing the love and care, with the support that Jack showered over her.

'Seems like the quote is so true. True love makes you blind to see things…' her situation and position only depicted and portrayed this quote in the right manner.

A faint smile came over her lips when she slightly shifted to look behind her through the glasses. Her gaze fell on the two naughty kids who were busy on their own, "How will we disclose this to these two?"

For the next few moments, there was no response from the other side as well. Neither did Sierra speak as she knew both of them were undergoing tremendous pressure.

After all, the man will have to leave the children whom he has raised from the moment they were born.

But after a few seconds, she heard, "They will understand. Not like  I can't talk with them. After settling and making things stable, I will come to you."

"When I come there, we can settle the divorce proceedings and talk with the kids as well. Don't worry, I believe they will understand this.."

"Even if they don't,  then this is done for their security itself." Sierra completed the wordings on her own, as her eyes never tore from that of her children.

She could already see their happiness, when they played, talked, and laughed. 'God, Please never snatch that smile of theirs…'

This was the only prayer she hoped for, for both of them to actually be together for the rest of their lives. To support each other and have each other's back, no matter what the situation lies.

On the other hand, Jack could sense her heavy breathing when out of the blue he heard a sound from her background, "Jack! I will contact you later on. There is someone at the door.."

"Hmm alright. Stay safe there.." With this, he kept his landline phone down when he rested his head against his chair.

In Front of him was his secretary who looked seriously confused for his boss, "Sir, are you sure that you are willing to go ahead with these divorce procedures?"

"Obviously yes. That is why I have.. even.. asked the lawyer to make them.." came an answer from him without displaying many expressions.

All that came was a faint smile that contained mysterious emotions, a tinge of sadness as well.

But the secretary was very puzzled. Reading the papers down on his hands, he can't help but feel the shiver already, "B-but.. what is the need of this.. you b-"

In the response, he received a stagnant glare from his boss which was enough to already pull his mouth tight. With no wordings ahead, all he did was close his lips and lower his eyelids.

"Sometimes, this isn't about how things are. Circumstances demand us to ignore the alarms."

"I failed in the task of making her love me, but never hindered my promise to protect my family, which is three of them. Even if I have to go away from the three of them for their security, I will happily walk away."

His aura changed completely, as compared to before. All the secretary came across was a man who had no heart to let his family die. "But if you do this, your ch-"

"She will take care of them well," Jack answered without opening his eyes where he brought his hands to massage his forehead.

All that displayed in his mind was the last moment they have spent, as a family, friends...unfortunately, not as lovers.

The secretary didn't say anything with respect to this anymore. Instead, he started to explain the details of one of the projects.

But Jack didn't pay attention to a single thing. Remembering his ugly past and background, a faint smile covered his lips.

'If only my love had the power to stop her…'
