The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 12 - Similar Physique

"Go ahead." Javier put the dishes back into the dishwasher and started cleaning them. But his ears were on Jennifer's words.

Standing up from her seat, she walked to the desk of the kitchen counter and put her hand on her chin. "If… Lucas agrees with your demands, can you let me go instead of giving me back to Lucas?"

They were talking friendly and she asked in an alarming tone. Clueless if he will get angry over her words or will be alright? Her mind told her that it would be risky to ask him, after all, he is his kidnapper but still, her heart took over her brain.

Javier's eyes didn't move to face her. Instead, he kept on doing his work as usual but what she missed was the cold look that passed through his eyes.

'Giving you back to that monster? Sorry, Jennifer but that would be the last thing on my mind.. and letting you free..' he had no further plans for it at this point.

"Javier? I asked you…" Jennifer once again asked at the lack of response from his side.

"We don't know if Lucas will agree to our demands or not and probably, he will not. So in the end, consider me as your partner in adventure for quite a while." His reply was quite twisted. Moreover, it made her curious.

A frown settled on her head when she heard his words because nothing like this was supposed to happen. She was kidnapped from her own wedding and is confined and living with a stranger at some kind of unknown place.

'What could have they asked Lucas that he might not fulfill? won't his unbeatable high attitude and ego be at risk already of not having me as early?' Her suspect was already at another level.

But when she was lost in her thoughts, and imaginary worlds of confusions and dozens of questions, Jennifer did take notice of the man's well physique.

From the back, the muscles were looking in great shape and the veins were popping up on his hard hand. 'He must workout daily..'

Suddenly, words slipped out of her lips, "You know, there was a man in my university days, in my class who used to have the same physique as yours but.. he never declared himself in front of the whole class.. he was just too much hidden."

Jennifer didn't give it much thought and spoke what she felt without consideration. She doesn't know the reason but Javier's physique did remind her of that man… in her class. It was strange, but her mind didn't avert thinking deeper into it.

Javier, who was still washing dishes, had frozen in the middle air. Though he didn't let any change happen in his body language or facial expressions, a sudden stupidity did spread on his face.

The change in his voice and his actions wasn't defined but there was something that struck his attitude at this time.

"Jennifer, I think you should go back to your room now. Read some books inside." The warmness in his voice suddenly vanished. Even Jennifer was surprised by the quick change in his demeanor and aura.

"Are you alright? You said that I can roam.. around.." but some words were left in the throat itself because of the shark-like gaze that he passed on to her.

Nodding her head, and without uttering even a single word, Jennifer went inside the room that was now designated to her only. But before that, her gaze swept from the phone that was lying.

His mood swings were quite confusing to her. She doesn't know why but he seems too distant, and sometimes he appears too sweet to talk. It was making her head go nuts!

Closing the door behind her, Jennifer sighed in a relieved voice. "How terrible this is. Sometimes I feel happy and free, but at the same time, I feel like I'm behind bars with so many restrictions!"

She stabilized her heartbeat and pulse first and after taking some rest, her eyes shined in some terror. Her eyes roam at the beach outside the villa, the beautiful and stunning view from her window.

'I guess, I will need to first discover this island before making any kind of move..'
