The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 304 - The Third Door

Angel and demon did not expect this kind of reaction. They should have bent Evan to one side, light or darkness. Each person should have chosen one of these. But Evan didn't see it that way.

He was the strongest dark mage, not because he wanted to be a villain since childhood, but because the path he chose often intersected with the path of darkness and evil. Evan didn't follow the dark path but rather blazed his trail. He always acted only as he wanted to.

For the same reason, Evan wasn't going to choose left or right. Angel and demon didn't interest him. In his mind, they weren't worth his attention.

Besides the light and dark door, there was another door in front of Evan. It was between the light and dark door. It was a gray door with a purple outline. Next to this door stood a silhouette with a long cane in a gray cloak. It was not clear whether it was a human angel or a demon. Nothing was visible under the gray cloak.

There was no creepy aura from this door like the dark one or a pleasant aura like the light one. But, Evan felt that this door was his choice.

"It reminds me of something..." Mumbled Evan and headed for the gray door.

At that moment, he remembered a situation in which his Warp cleared. Back then, he died because demonic and divine energies had entered his body.

Then the three drops turned into a strange liquid and purified his Warp. Thanks to this, Evan was able to come back to life and become stronger. Last time he had chosen his way, now he was going to do the same.

Click.

Evan opened the gray door and stepped inside.

...

"Rid! Wake up." A woman's voice was heard.

"Now..." Mumbled a thirteen-year-old boy with short, red hair.

<I had such a strange dream... why were a demon and an angel standing at the door? Eh, no need to think about it. It was just a dream.> Rid pondered and headed for the kitchen.

His whole family was in the kitchen: his father, his mother, and his older sister. They were eating and talking merrily. Rid joined them with a smile on his face. But, something seemed strange to him. He couldn't make out his family's faces, even after rubbing his eyes very hard.

Rid decided to ignore it. He sat down at the table and began to eat. Today's meal was a well-cooked steak. Rid cut off a piece and ate it happily. The others had steak on their plate as well, but Rid felt strange when he saw something.

He watched a piece of meat on his mother's fork turn into a cabbage leaf. It wasn't an illusion. He heard a distinct crunch.

"What's Rid?" His mother asked him.

"No, nothing, I just thought a piece of meat turned into cabbage..." Mumbled Rid.

His older sister joined in the conversation, "Ahaha, Rid, didn't you get enough sleep? That's normal!"

She cut off a piece of meat, and suddenly it turned into a fried piece of fish.

The same thing happened with his father's food. What's more, when Rid looked at his steak, he saw pancakes drizzled with honey instead.

<What's going on here...?> thought Rid.

He shook his head and decided to put the bad thoughts out of his head. Rid continued to eat along with his family, enjoying a completely different dish with each bite.

After they finished everything, Rid's father got up from the table and said, "Rid, let's go."

"Where to?"

"What? Do you forget? You've been asking me to take you fishing for so long. Come on, get ready." Said the man and headed for the door. Rid quickly followed him.

However, when they got to the door, it suddenly disappeared and moved to another part of the house. Rid's father did not react in any way and walked to the door again. This kind of thing was quite normal.

When they came out of the house, Rid saw a fantastic picture. The grass, plants, and flowers all around were constantly growing and fading. Roses were growing in one place, and a second later, they were dead. Moments later, daisies with rainbow petals grew in the same spot.

Father Rid walked past the tree and picked an apple from it. But when he brought the fruit to his mouth, the apple turned into a pear, and again it did not confuse him in any way.

There were no other people in that area.

Rid touched a massive oak tree, but suddenly it turned into thousands of blue butterflies. These butterflies disappeared into the air, and then to Rid's left, a birch tree grew right on the road.

Rid felt strange. Deep down, he felt that it shouldn't be like this, but it surprised him alone.

<Damn it, what the hell am I even thinking about? I've waited so long to go fishing with my dad.> Rid thought and quickly caught up with his father.

Rid's father led him to the pond. Like everything else in this world, the pond was constantly changing. At one time, the water was ordinary, and then a few seconds later, it would turn into lava. Moreover, even the craziest variations were possible such as burning ice, water composed of lightning, light ink, and so on.

Rid's father taught his son to fish and told him a variety of stories. In all the time, they managed to catch three fish. They also changed from time to time. Some got fatter and bigger, and others the other way around. One fish caught fire, and the other, on the contrary, was covered with a thick layer of ice.

By then, Rid was used to this world. Everything seemed familiar to him. He enjoyed the walk home with his father.

The sky was not unlike the rest of the things in this world in terms of stability. No sooner had Rid walked a hundred yards than the clear, blue sky changed to a night sky with a million bright stars. Then the fog appeared around him but then quickly disappeared.

There were a huge variety of phenomena and anomalies going on in this world in a minute.

"What's going on? Rid run!" The man said loudly and sprinted toward the house.

Rid was frightened, he saw some dark monster approaching their house, and unlike anything else in this world, it would not change.
