The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 287 - Red

After the messages appeared, Evan's aura increased several times. Changes began to occur in the dark space. Opposite the black lion and the giant rat, a colossal-sized creature appeared. It was a sleeping, red dragon.

A few seconds after it appeared, its eyes opened, and a terrifying aura began to emanate from it. At the same moment, a red Pillar wrapped in crimson chains fell from above. Everything was happening exactly as it had on previous occasions, but now Evan was in the heat of battle. His wrath was only gathering momentum.

Anger was one of the most vivid emotions. In a fit of anger, most people did or said things they wouldn't do in other situations. Of course, anger had many disadvantages, a person who succumbed to rage could make critical and irreparable mistakes. Such a powerful force could not have only positive effects. But, if one's goals coincided with his goals during anger, he gained incredible power. It was not anger that had to control a person and make him act, but the person had to be at the helm.

When Evan received the Dragon Sigil, he felt the power overwhelm him. Every aspect of him was enhanced, from physical strength and reflexes to spell power and intelligence. The stronger Evan's anger was, the stronger he became. This was the passive effect of the Dragon Sigil.

Crackle.

Evan stood up abruptly and punched Ein in the stomach with his fist. The girl barely had time to react and block that powerful blow. She flew back a few meters but managed to lose her balance.

Ein looked at the bruise on her arm and thought to herself, <I doubt he was that strong a few minutes ago. Otherwise, he would have killed everyone in a few blows. What's more, now he looks more like a monster than a man. Those eyes can really inspire fear.>

Crackle.

Evan walked slowly toward Ein. Every step he took a left a deep dent in the ground, and you could hear the hard rock crack and turn into tiny shards.

Ein's last attack had destroyed half of Scarlet Sacrifice. So Evan decided to get rid of this useless armor. In one motion, he crumpled the 4-star armor like a piece of paper and tossed it aside. Then his spatial ring glowed, and his past black cloak appeared on it. It couldn't protect him from any attacks, but Evan didn't need protection at that moment.

His anger gradually increased with each step, but Evan wasn't going to resist or control it. That anger was what he wanted at that moment.

Whooosh.

Warp Ein spun, and electrical discharges appeared around her palms. She had not used any spells before and had fought, relying only on her own power.

"You know, I like sensible and calm guys, just because of a couple of words, you went off like a little girl," Ein said calmly.

Evan smirked and answered her, "Just words? No, they're not just words. They're a whole ideology of one of the worlds. And I am the chief hater of that ideology."

Whooosh.

The next moment Evan turned into a blur and attacked Ein. The girl did the same, and a split second later, their fists reached each other.

A shockwave spread out from their impact, and many cracks went through the walls of the cave. If anyone had been within a few centimeters of that impact, they would have been turned into a pancake.

Ein had abnormal physical strength, as did Evan. But, now it was all about desire and emotion.

Whooosh.

A red aura appeared around Ewan's fist, and at that moment, Ein felt her attack suppressed by the momentum emitted by Ewan's punch.

Ein flew sideways with a bullet, and half of her body was buried in the walls of the cave. Ein's right arm was broken. The bone was partially shattered and dislocated.

Realizing that even Ein could not cope because of Evan's suddenly increased strength, Sara decided to help Ein.

She had regained some strength and had time to use a couple of mana crystals by this point. She had enough mana to cast a healing spell to help Ein.

Whoooosh.

Her Warp spun, and a golden magic circle appeared beneath Ein. It was slowly but surely healing her arm. However, it would take about a minute to heal fully, and Evan wouldn't give her that time.

"Hey, is it polite to interfere in our battle?" Evan said in an eerie voice, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of Sara.

Sara put her arms out in front of her trying to block Evan's attacks, but...

<What? Why can't I block his blow? > Sara thought, only beginning to realize that her arms were already severed and her wounds charred.

"How?" muttered Sara in fear the moment Evan's palm slammed into her chest.

"You're just pathetic trash. Stay out of my way." Evan said coldly and ripped Sara's heart out and crushed it.

Sara was strong by the standards of mages at the stage - a Two-Pointed Star with three flames on her platform, but the concepts of strength and firepower should not have been confused. Sara acted as a support and did her job perfectly. It was tough to find a healer as skilled as she is.

But, the moment she ran out of mana and her powers were running out, she simply didn't stand a chance against Evan. If Sara was the epitome of support, Evan was the most powerful attacker here.

The two remaining members of the Tears of Light were horrified by the scene they saw. They stepped aside in fear and hoped that Evan would ignore them.

Crackling.

Ein broke through part of the cave with a blow to the forehead and thus freed herself. After Sara's death, her healing spell was undone, so Ein's arm did not have time to recover fully. However, the shattered parts had time to heal.

She looked at her dangling arm and muttered, "What is that strange feeling? Is it pain?"

Ein was puzzled. She quickly set her arm back and clenched her palm into a fist, and said, "How unusual, nothing has ever made me feel pain before. It is interesting."

"Stop muttering to yourself." Said Evan, slowly pacing toward Ein.

"How stern you are," Ein said calmly. "But, I agree that it's time to take it to a higher level."

"Art of Archangels, Barachiel Chronicle, first level - Gloves of Thunder!"
