The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 277 - New Weapons

"Evan, follow me, the special flasks and 4-star weapons of the second rank are in the Bloody Pearls vault." Pronounced Dorlus and headed to the indicated location.

Evan nodded and followed him. Evan was once again to meet with members of some light organization. At that moment, Evan thought,

<First Virion, now Dorlus. Vampires have quite a few problems because of light organizations. Moreover, judging by Dorlus' voice and facial expression, he has an incredible hatred for the Tears of Light. I'm curious to see what the members of the Tear of Light are capable of, but fighting 15 mages at once can be a bit problematic.>

He was confident in himself and his powers and abilities, but Evan was also aware that he was not all-powerful. Rave level people were invincible opponents to him. Evan was curious to see what the head of the Demonic Tree looked like and how strong this man was.

...

When Evan and Dorlus arrived at the Bloody Pearls vault, Dorlus immediately gave Evan special flasks. They were made of rare, crystalline material and could withstand most outside influences. These flasks could be filled with very hot and cold liquids and various poisons, acids, reagents, and so on. All known third-rank liquids could be placed in these flasks.

Dorlus gave Evan a total of thirty such flasks. They were quite large, each one having a volume of one liter. Evan was pleased, he decided that thirty liters would definitely be enough to hold all the energy.

Moreover, these flasks also had special plugs made of the same material. They would not allow the liquid to spill or evaporate; any scientist would want something like this for his own experiments.

Dorlus then took Evan to the room where the weapons of the second rank were kept. To Evan's surprise, there was an enormous number of weapons. Of course, most of them were 1-star or 2-star, but there were plenty of 3-star examples. Anyone could find any weapon you wanted in this vault and for any taste.

Naturally, Evan was looking for a scythe, but to his disappointment, there was not a single scythe even of 3-star quality in the vault. Evan was frustrated, sure he could try fighting with an axe or hammer, but that wasn't part of his fighting style. With such a weapon in his hands, he would become considerably weaker.

He didn't know how and didn't want to fight with those kinds of weapons. Evan began to think about getting something like knuckles or combat gloves, but that wasn't what he really wanted.

Dorlus noticed the disappointed look on Evan's face and asked what was wrong, "Evan, are you not happy with the weapons offered?"

Evan shook his head, "No, only the finest specimens are here. I can even call a few of them true masterpieces. But I fight mostly with scythes. I have my own unique fighting style. It does make me a little sad."

After listening to Evan, Dorlus reflected.

"Evan, there's actually one weapon you could call a scythe here. But, I don't know if it would work for you." Proclaimed Dorlus.

"What? I'm not blind. There's definitely no scythe." Evan was puzzled, he didn't understand what Dorlus was talking about.

"This one." Said Dorlus pointing at one 4-star weapon of the second rank.

Evan looked at the weapon, but he only frowned. Evan saw a quality forged sword in front of him, but not a scythe.

"Dorlus, are you mocking me? Or don't you see the difference between a sword and a scythe?" Asked Evan.

Dorlus answered nothing. Instead, he took the weapon from the stand and handed it to Evan.

The sword looked intimidating and elegant at the same time. This sword was slightly different from the others. It had a black hilt but no guard. What's more, the hilt didn't end at the blade of the sword. It continued on.

So the scarlet sword blade was split in two by the hilt, all the way to the end. It was a duo-edge sword. The two blades were tapered at the top and widened at the guard.

The sword was quite long, just under two meters. One had to have great strength to fight with such a weapon without problems.

"Click here and see for yourself what happens," Dorlus said, pointing to one spot on the hilt of the sword.

Evan raised one eyebrow and pressed the button.

Whooosh.

The next moment the two scarlet blades came into motion. They rose to the end of the hilt and joined together as one. Then the scarlet blade turned to the left and lowered slightly. Now Evan no longer had a sword in his hands but a scythe.

"So, impressed?" Dorlus asked.

"Not bad. I already had a weapon like that once. I didn't expect to encounter a scythe with a similar mechanism again. This weapon is both a scythe and a sword at the same time, just great." Mumbled Evan.

At that moment, Evan remembered his first weapon in this world, the Reverse Death. Sitreg created this scythe from an idea Evan had given him. It was a bespoke weapon created by a true craftsman and a very meticulous man. Sitreg has always been known for his attention to even the smallest details.

In order to create a weapon with an integrated mechanism, everything had to be calculated down to the millimeter. If the mechanism were not made correctly, at worst, the weapon would not work, and at best, the mechanism would make the weapon less durable.

"Then I think that's settled. Go to Stone Seeds in two weeks. By then, the symbiosis between the Golems and the Stone Lilies will come to an end. I hope you'll come back with more Meteorite Glass and fifteen heads of light mages." Said Dorlus.

Evan didn't answer anything and just nodded back.

He said goodbye to Dorlus and headed to an abandoned tower near Darkfil. Dorlus said his men would bring everything he needed to Evan within three days. Evan had a huge order, so it was pretty quick.

Evan was going to do the same thing as Rave. From above, he would leave the tower in its half-destroyed state.. But on the lower floors, he would create an entire laboratory complex.
