The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 275 - Meteor Glass

After about ten minutes, Evan finished talking through the list of items he needed. Dorlus nodded and calmly said,

"Okay, I hear you. Tools, gadgets, cages, decorations, poisons, potions, and so on won't be hard to get. It's all in our warehouse, you'll just have to pay. But, there is one problem."

"Something wrong?" Evan asked. He understood that his order was extensive, and the items on his list were very hard to get in places. But he figured he could buy anything at Bloody Pearls.

"You said you wanted flasks made of material that could withstand the presence of rank three fluids, right?" Said Dorlus.

Evan didn't go into detail and tell Dorlus why he needed these flasks and that he would store his energy from Splash in them. Dorlus didn't need to know that, so Evan said that he needed the flasks to store the special liquid. Dorlus shouldn't have suspected anything. It was quite an ordinary order.

"Yes, don't you have any such flasks?" Asked Evan.

"There are, but they are extremely few, and all of them have already been pre-ordered, in a month, Bloody Pearls will have no more flasks like that. I can't sell them to you, you know. There are very few vampires in Darkfil experimenting with such dangerous and rare liquids. Creating such flasks is a rather time consuming and very expensive process, so we only create these flasks in small quantities or to order." Dorlus pronounced.

Evan frowned. He hadn't expected the problem to be this particular issue.

<Hmm, actually, it was to be expected. Certain people would only need flasks like this at certain times. Getting third rank materials is not an easy task. But, I have to get those flasks>. Evan thought.

Very soon, Evan would break through his third Barrier and then move on to the stage - Two-Pointed Star. At that point, two very powerful Splashes would happen, and a huge amount of energy would come out of his body. He had to take advantage of this moment and not miss it by any means.

"Aren't there any options? Perhaps I could borrow these flasks until the new ones arrive? Or should I order them from you?" Asked Evan several questions at once.

Dorlus thought about it. He knew there would be problems with this thing, so he thought of several options beforehand. But, he was worried that Evan might not be able to handle it.

"Sure, you can order these flasks, but you'll have to wait a few months," replied Dorlus.

"What's taking so long?" Evan frowned. He didn't have much time to do this experiment. Rave had only given him one year, after which Evan would need to join the Demonic Tree and interrupt the experiment for a while. He could not and, most importantly, did not want to wait that long.

"Third rank materials suitable for creating flasks are quite difficult to obtain. Usually, mages create a special group that goes for this material. In most cases, it's some crystals, special parts of monsters like transparent chitin, and others. Moreover, the group must consist of mages at the stage - Two-Pointed Star and that's as a minimum."

Dorlus sighed and continued, "In addition to the above, even if there is a suitable material to create such flasks, you need a three-star three-ranked smith. There is only one such smith in Darkfil. I can negotiate with him, but he needs time to get the job done, and we don't have the right materials. If you make an order, in which case we'll find out where we can get the right material, assemble a group, and send them out for that material."

"Do I just have to wait, or is there some option?" Evan asked.

"There is one option, but I don't think you're strong enough. Don't get me wrong, there's no point in sending you to your doom. Anyone who has been honored with an amulet from a noble family is considered a friend of ours, and vampires don't have many friends."

"How strong do I have to be?" Evan said calmly.

"Considering your strength, if you're at the Two-Pointed Star stage, there shouldn't be any problem. But, the operation will be in two weeks. I don't think you'll make it." Pronounced Dorlus.

"I'll make it. My third chain around Warp is already ringing, in ten days, I'll have reached the stage - Two-Pointed Stage." Said Evan.

"Hmm, are you sure?" Dorlus did not doubt Evan's abilities. Virion would not give a mere human a special amulet. But, Evan might have overestimated his abilities.

"Yes," Evan replied confidently.

Dorlus thought for a while then nodded and said, "Alright, if you're sure you'll make it, then I'll tell you a way to get the right material."

Evan nodded, he listened intently to Dorlus.

"A few dozen kilometers from Darkfil, there are caves called - Stone Seeds. These caves are home to many different monsters and contain special stone plants. I think that's because of them and called so these caves. But, the most important thing is the Golems that live there. They are not attacked by the monsters there, and these Golems are now in hibernation." Said Dorlus.

<Hmm, I have to go to the caves again, but what kind of material will I have to get there?>

"Several times a year, for several months, these Golems enter a symbiosis with a plant called - Stone Lily, at the same time the Golems go into anabiosis. At this time, the Golems pose no threat, but the Stone Lily protects them. Moreover, there is no point in attacking these Golems. They are a living pile of stone that is very difficult to kill, it is too unprofitable."

"I take it these Golems are of some value after their symbiosis with the Stone Lily is over?" Evan asked.

Dorlus nodded, "Yes, that's exactly right. During the symbiosis, Golem, and Stone Lily exchange energy with each other. That way, they become a little stronger and purify their own bodies. If I can call it that, I'm not sure.. But, the fact is that at the end of the symbiosis, a very rare material, Meteor Glass, appears in Golem's body."
