The Extra's Survival

Chapter 62 - Club [5]

In the Sword club.

Lucas decided to end the match after fighting offensively to his heart content and swung the sword aiming at the neck as if to kill Newaschin.

Newaschin panicked seeing the force of the attack which he felt too overbearing. He closed his eyes seeing the force of the attack and raised his arm to cover his face subconsciously to protect his face dropping the sword.

Fortunately, Lucas stopped his sword just a few inches from Newaschin.

Swooossshh.

A frightening pressure followed by a surge of wind gushed out from the spot where Lucas was standing, although the sword stopped at a critical moment still the pressure that was emitted from the attack was enough to knock Newaschin unconscious.

He fell back on the ground, his back was drenched in sweat feeling the force of the attack. He breathed an air of relief but was stunned, seeing the attack Lucas made with indifferent eyes as if he don’t care about the consequences of injuring him.

His back was drenched in sweat seeing Lucas holding the sword in the air which was just a few inches from him, he felt that these few inches were the distance between his death and life.

Lucas retracted his sword and started to walk off the arena calmly under numerous stares. There is no way Lucas was going for the kill but still, he had put his all in that attack thinking about the possibility of Newaschin counter-attack, if his move failed to take him down.

Ken looked at Lucas in a new light. Seeing Lucas humble expression, he felt that Lucas himself didn’t know how frightening his last attack was.

Even a peak 3-Star or early 4-Star would have trouble defending against that kind of attack.

He was stunned for a moment on seeing him unleashing such strength despite his bloodline grade and rank.

He was curious about how Lucas managed to squeeze this much strength from his small rank.

He started clapping for Lucas followed by others, watching this great fight was truly worthy of respect.

The sudden cheers that erupted from the crowd somewhat embarrassed Lucas, as this was the first time he got praised by so many people.

He felt as if the world has finally acknowledged his hard work.

The fight was so good that everyone had forgotten about Lucas status and the very fact that he was just a first-year who had just submitted his application for joining the club.

Before leaving the stage, standing at the edge Lucas turned back.

Lucas looked at the instructor and asked, “Did I pass.”

The instructor was too stunned to speak anything seeing the spectacular match earlier.

“You passed,” Ken emerged from the crowd and went onto the stage.

Standing before Lucas, he patted his shoulder and said”Man you are sure something. This may be the first case in the history of the entire horizon where a 2-Star with bronze bloodline had defeated a 3-Star with golden bloodline.”

“You should be proud of your achievement” Ken spoke exhibiting a gentle smile.

“Thank you, senior,” Lucas replied humbly though his heart was in mess.

Lucas liked his praise after all who wouldn’t like it but still, he felt that he dont deserve too much praise as he had upgraded his bloodline to golden while everyone thinks he had a bronze bloodline.

Though his heart was bitter, he still have to act in courtesy and gave a faint smile to Ken.

Lucas gave a kind bow to Newaschin and stepped down from the stage.

Many admired Lucas’s courageous spirit whereas many students expressions turned stiff as Lucas exited the stage. After all these fellows minds were filled with pride and ego, how can they accept a lowly commoner like Lucas stepping on the nobles?

But they have to swallow their words and pretend as if nothing happened. Still, their expressions distorted after seeing many students now trying to get entry into the club even if they are low ranked following Lucas’s path.

They sneered and looked at Lucas in disdain for setting the example.

Lucas ignored those idiots’ stare.

‘Who in the right mind would argue with these mindless fellows.’He thought.

The only way to make them acknowledge someone was to beat the crap out of them until they accept the facts.

Because of Lucas performance, many of the first year who came to join the club requested sparring and the amount of sparing requests exceeded by many times than the previous year

Previously rarely did a low ranked one ask for sparring. Even if they did they did, they lose too miserably, which discouraged others to follow their tracks but this year it was reversed rather their very club member lost miserably.

Even those with or above golden bloodline requested for sparring so that they could prove that they are not behind Lucas in terms of strength, only resulting in thier pride being crushed by the seniors as they didn’t take it lightly as before the previous years and fought seriously without giving these junior a chance to fight back.

The instructor who was in charge of the swords club already started to had a headache. The only thing that he can do, was to hope that these enthusiastic fellows would give up early after seeing some of their mates losing.

Lucas after finishing his job went back towards his dorm. As he was returning, he thought of something and decided to take look at the happening in another club.

His lips curled upward thinking about the stunt he was about to pull.

“I have to repay him someday for saving me in trouble. I should start with today.” Lucas spoke.

…..

While the sword club was in mess due to certain someone. Another club was also in chaos due to conflict.

In the Spear Club.

An individual was standing in the arena challenging the members of the social club. His expression was cold and his gaze was filled with anger.

He looked like a God of War who was going against many.

Two hours before the recent events, Fredrick entered the spear club wanting to be its member.

Contrary to his expectation, he was looked down and was ridiculed for stepping here to the extent that annoyed him seriously.

Those who have a silver bloodline or higher can be admitted directly but the second year tried to make things difficult for him forcing him to defeat them to get admitted.

He was trying to pick on Fredrick by forcing him to concede by fighting stronger opponents.

Fredrick was currently engaging in a spar with a third-year who was in 4-Star.

Clang.Clack.

Rotating the spear in his hands he deflected the rock projectiles aimed at him.

Unlike the swords club where a strict order was maintained during the spars, the Spear Club has been lawless due to that egotistical bastard Vice President who tried to give spots to the ones who are willing to serve him.

Not only there were using mana they were even using skills to take down their opponents. If one watches the match, he may misunderstand the duel as the match of life and death.

The Vice-President has no shame on his face while trying to pick on his juniors.

Many may think just why does this person try to pick on a random who hadn’t done anything to harm him.

The reason was simple being born in the Earl’s house, he find Fredrick’s presence disgusting. His mere presence made him feel sick so, he wanted him to know his place but contrary to his expectation Fredrick was faring well till now and was able to hold on against a 4-Star being a mere 3-Star.

Bang.Clang…

Fredrick gave numerous thrusts with his spear into the openings. The speed of his thrusts was so fast many looked with their jaw opened as the thrust looked like a gatling gun firing the bullets.

Even the 4-Star boy was having trouble dodging the thrusts of the spear tips as they brushed past him.

If it was a real match, he would have a hundred cuts all over his body.

The expression of some of the members turned solemn seeing Fredrick strength.

Fredrick was seriously annoyed by their behaviour. He just wanted to enrol here, who would have thought they would think of him as someone easy to bully.

As the 4-Star was on a difficult spot, he decided to use his strongest skill to takedown Fredrick. He doesn’t want to fail in the task, the Vice-President had given him and if he failed he has to face dire consequences.

Retreating his steps he poured all his mana onto his attack.

The tip of his spear started to cover by small rock grains and as time passed his entire spear was covered by hardened rocks his spear looked like a giant earth spike that was emitting a huge pressure.

Fredrick frowned seeing the strength of the skill. He didn’t think the situation to escalate this much. The skill was surely a high-level skill.

Without wasting any time Fredrick also started to pour all his mana and his spear started sparkling with blue lightning, emitting crackling noises.

The 4-Star boy pushed forward giving a thrust with his full strength.

Fredrick swing the spear and the lightning converged at the tip of the spear and as he trusted the spear forward the lightning started to take shape as a small dragon even though it hasn’t formed fully.

Boom.

As both, the tips of the spear collided a huge shockwave exploded which spread across the arena. The shock wave blew away the nearby students watching the match.

A figure flew out of the arena and crashed at the wall.. Both of their attacks had surpassed the rank of 4-Star that couldn’t be contained by the ring and a huge crater had formed in the place where both of them collided.
