The Devil's Sweetheart

Left with no other choice, Leena tiredly walked out of the office along with Reese. She threw all the gifts into the car trunk and accelerated the car, while all the way, she was cursing Devin for copying her ideas again.

She tiredly slumped on the bed when she reached home. She felt utterly exhausted, her period seems to approach soon and for some reason, she felt angry at everyone. Her mood swings started to bring the worst out of her.

Since Carrot was not at home, Leena didn't have to prepare food for her. All in honest, she did not have the energy to cook. She swatted the idea to ask the snoring tractor to boil because she would have hit her bed by now.

For a little while, Leena slept and got up when her mobile started buzzing. Seeing the contact name, she immediately picked up.

"What?" Her voice was gripping yet soft for him to infer.

"Did you like the gifts?" Devin parked the car outside of Greenwyn village.

His deep voice tickled her ears raising goosebumps on her skin and Leena badly wanted his kisses now. Damn! my period. It's all because of it. Leena blamed her periods effortlessly. "You have become a copy cat again and shamelessly used my theories."

"Is it? But you know what copy cat says?" He asked.

"What?"

"When you copy, you stop creating and when you stop creating, you stop imagining and when you stop imagining you_"

"You become ordinary and when you become ordinary, you need to copy," Leena added for him.

"Exactly sweetheart. You are always on point. Call the security and ask them to approve my identity." Devin halted his footsteps when he was blocked by the security. He was satisfied that the security is tightly packed here.

"Are you in Greenwyn village?" A rush of excitement sent colors to cheeks when she thought of seeing him."Aren't you big? You can't even bypass the security?"

"Do you want me to trespass the security? I don't mind but the consequences will be_"

"Fine. I will call them." She knew he would not even think twice to destroy. She has seen his way of dealing through Trent.

Leena contacted the security and confirmed to send the person in. She was too tired to walk and asked Devin to key in the password by himself.

It was the first time Devin was in Leena's flat and everything was neat and kept well. He walked into the bedroom with Leena's guidance since it's the first time he was here.

"Are you not well?" Devin opened the door and strode towards the bed where Leena was resting on the bed.

"I am fine. Just a little uneasy." A smile of joy and satisfaction lit up her eager face seeing him.

"Did you eat?" He bent down and kissed her forehead as he sat on the bed.

"I did not make anything." She pursed her lips thinking that he would get mad at her for not eating.

"You are neglecting health again. Let me make something for_"

"No." Leena instantly declined scared then he would burn the kitchen.

"Don't worry. I will be careful. I have learned a trick not to burn." Devin gave a throaty chuckle and went to launch himself into the kitchen battle.

"Careful with my kitchen," Leena screamed but Devin was already gone.

Devin came back with hot mushroom soup which he duplicated exactly as the woman illustrated on youtube. He only wished she would like it. But the girl in question was not in the bed. Unconsciously, his eyes scooted on to the red stain. "Is she on period? That explains her uneasiness."

He removed the blanket to put it in a washing machine. Just then, Leena emerged out of the bathroom.

"What happened to it?" Leena asked noticing the blanket on his hand.

"It's stained a little."

Leena awkwardly scratched her head in embarrassment. Why must my period arrive when he is here? Now I am running out of pads also. How should I go out?

"I_" She hesitated. "I am_"

"You don't need to get awkward around me. We are in a modern world and we all studied science. I do understand it." He stepped forward to ease her nervousness.

"What do you want?" He asked, gently grabbing her hand.

"I am running out of sanitary pads."

"Shall I go and ask Reese?" Recently he got to know that both are staying in the same apartments.

"I use a different brand." She said. When it comes to the things she uses, Leena is very reluctant.

"Tell me the brand then. I will bring it."

Leena pulled him by ear to whisper the brand name she uses.

"There is no one here, sweetheart. Why are you being so secretive?" But Leena was too shy to utter the name facing him, so she opted for his ear.

Immediately Devin went to get the so-called brand for her. He thought it was an easy job. When Harley got her first period, no one was in the home except Devin. She did not know what exactly has happened to her and when she saw the bloodstain she started crying. Even Devin had no idea how to take care of her. Although his teacher talked about the reproductive system in the biology class, it was limited. So, he googled a little about it and brought her all the things she needed.

Although he was a novice when it came to such things, he still managed it in the case of Harley. But right now he couldn't. Even after searching in seven to eight supermarkets, he couldn't find the brand Leena was using. Everybody was throwing weird stares for asking something which they are not aware of. If he was not wearing a mask, Devin would be in the headlines tomorrow.

Finally, he has to Google for a store and has to drive a long distance to get that brand.

Devin returned home and he brought it in a bigger volume so that she doesn't need to go behind it every month.

"What took you so long?" Leena asked seeing him return.

"What kind of brand you are using? Do you know how hard it is to find?"

"It's rarely available in the stores." She grabbed the packet from his hand and she appreciated him for bringing it in a bigger volume.

To appreciate his efforts, she tiptoed and kissed his cheek. Before Devin could catch her, she was in the bathroom with the door closed.

Although they have kissed a lot of times by now, her simple gesture made him turn flutter.
