Ten Years of Yearning. My Love, Let Me Protect You.

Luo Lixi took the paper and used three glances to read the contents. Then she picked the pen and signed it.

From the side, Luo Lixiang watched them silently. When Pan Er Jiu wanted to take it back, he dropped the half-finished cigarette on top of the paper and exclaimed, "Ouch! My fingers slipped!"

"Ah…No!" Because of his sudden exclamation, Pan Er Jiu failed to receive the paper and it dropped on the desk. Suddenly, the delicate paper caught fire. 

"Ah, what to do?!" Pan Er Jiu blew air to stop the burning but it got only better. In a few seconds, the whole paper turned into ashes and flew on Luo Lixi's face.

"Er Jiu, stop!" Luo Lixi coughed as she took a tissue and wiped her face. Luo Lixiang watched Pan Er Jiu with interest and laughed out, "Didn't expect the old man would place a clumsy girl under you. Heh!"

"Get out! Or should I invite you out?" Luo Lixi glared at him. At the side, Pan Er Jiu didn't dare to lift her face. Her hands were clenched into fists as she fell.

Luo Lixiang stood up with a bang and turned around. Before leaving he left a sentence with gnashed teeth, "Tell Sheng Ruming to stop looking for me or else I will forget everything and make your life a living hell!"

After he went out, Pan Er Jiu stood before Luo Lixi. Watching her silence, Luo Lixi felt a headache was coming. Before she averted her eyes, she picked up the mug. 

When she took a sip, Pan Er Jiu finally opened her mouth and murmured silently, "Miss, it's my first time to become an assistant. Sorry to make trouble for you."

Luo Lixi saw her spiritless and didn't speak. Currently, she was busy drinking coffee. The familiar taste invaded her mouth and made her emotional for a second. When she was done, she handed the mug to Pan Er Jiu and consoled her, "At first, you will feel useless. When you get used to it, you'll feel less useless."

Luo Lixi stood up and walked out. Pan Er Jiu stood motionless on her spot. After the door closed behind her, she put down the mug and covered her face. 'Such disgrace! I want to hide under the ground!'

Pan Er Jiu quietly stayed there for a few minutes. When her phone rang out, she broke out from trance. 

"Jiu, when will you come back? It's so late." An old woman's voice came out from the phone when she accepted the call. 

"Ah, ma, in thirty minutes. My work is done." Pan Er Jiu hurriedly took the mug and went to place it in its place.

"Oh, then I will start to make dinner for us. What will you want to eat? Say. I'll cook for you." Her mother told her affectionately.

"Don't. I will buy something for us…" She turned off the lights of the office and walked out. 

There were still some people in the building working overtime. She passed through them and walked out. 

After walking out of the building, Pan Er Jiu went to the nearest bus stop when a man came out from nowhere and blocked her path.

Being stopped abruptly, Pan Er Jiu got flustered. When she lifted her head, she saw it was Luo Lixiang. Her eyes glanced around and saw it was only him and her at that moment who was standing at the bus stop.

"Tsk tsk! Doesn't the company give you enough money? You are working under my sister. You must have been paid off enough to afford a cab." Luo Lixiang examined her from head to toe and muttered out intentionally, "Not bad. You have a good figure."

Pan Er Jiu clenched her hands and stepped back. She watched his face smiling smugly as he walked towards her step by step.

"Let's go somewhere to talk." Luo Lixiang threw away the chocolate bar after he took the last bite and reached out to grab her wrist.

After being caught so suddenly, Pan Er Jiu broke out in cold sweat. She stuttered in panic, "Mr Luo, I.. I.. it's very late n.. now. I have to go home." 

She tried to take back her hand but the man grabbed her tightly. He was in the mood to tease the other party. When he saw the panicked expression of her, he felt mischievous. 

"Ahhh, Mr Luo!" Luo Lixiang dragged her to him and hugged her waist with one hand. 

He pinched her face with the left hand and whispered, "Little assistant, become my woman. I promise to give you enough money. You just need to… "

He curled his lips and bent down. Pan Er Jiu struggled to break out but failed before the right hold of the man. As he leaned down, she leaned back. 

Her face lost all colours as she blocked his face and shouted, "Mr Luo, what are you trying to do?! It's sexual harassment!" 

When she said that Luo Lixiang's smile vanished. He felt irritated because of her words. Thus to vent his displeasure, he took away Pan Er Jiu's big and round eyeglasses. 

"My glasses, give it back!" All the things became blurred in her eyes. She tried to get it back and accidentally her hand brushed past Luo Lixiang's face. 

The man thought she tried to slap him and in return wanted to tease him more when a red Bentley drove beside them and stopped. 

"Xiang, why didn't you notify me? It's not good to come here. What if… who is this woman?!"

Kong Pipi stepped out from it and hurried beside him. Watching Pan Er Jiu's dress and the way she had dressed made her disgusted. But the thing that made her furious was that Luo Lixiang was hugging her intimately.

"Xiang, you…" Her eyes got teary as if she was hurt by his betrayal. 

Luo Lixiang suddenly let go of Pan Er Jiu. The latter dropped on the ground on her back and became stunned.
