Lucas jumped down from the wall and moved towards the corpses of the evil spirit beasts.

'Swoosh'

Before he could reach the pile of the corpses, a black mist came out of those corpses as it entered into the quail sized egg in his hands.

Without a doubt, that black mist was the evil energy in the bodies of the evil spirit beasts.

'Huh? It absorbs even from this range?'

Currently, he was around 10 meters away from the corpses of the evil spirit beasts; however, the egg in his hands didn't have any problem in absorbing the energy.

What's more, the speed at which the egg is absorbing the evil energy was very high, making Lucas confirm that the spirit beast inside the egg was definitely a devouring type spirit beast.

'If it is really a devouring type spirit beast, it is going to be very tough to nurture it in the future.'

Even though nurturing the devouring type spirit beast seems easy on the surface, actually, it was very tough because as the spirit beast grows powerful, the resources it needed to devour also increases.

'Never mind, I have the system and various sources to collect the resources.'

However, Lucas didn't think much because of the system and its feature [Exchange tab].

'What's more, I will give you so many evil spirit beast corpses today. So, enjoy to your fullest and quickly come out of the egg.'

Lucas stopped worrying about the future when he already had a lot of evil spirit beasts right in front of his eyes.

'Dark wind blades'

From time to time, Lucas even started releasing the 'Dark wind blades' because the speed at which the egg is absorbing the evil energy was much faster than the speed at which the youngsters were killing the evil spirit beasts.

So, he had to kill the evil spirit beasts on his own to keep up with the egg's absorption speed.

"The egg can't absorb the energy from the living evil spirit beast."

This was the revelation that Lucas came to after moving here and there with the egg in his hands.

Time continued to pass as the egg absorbed the evil energy from almost all the corpses of the evil spirit beasts that were coming out from the left portal.

'It's been around 20 minutes, I wonder how much the progress bar has increased.'

Lucas was curious about it and opened the system interface and he was once again shocked by the progress bar in front of him.

'Ding,

          Progress bar:- 2 percent filled.

'Only two percent even after absorbing nearly 1000 rank 2 and rank 3 evil spirit beasts?'

Lucas looked at the small egg in his hand with a complete shock on his face.

'Now, I am really curious about the spirit beast inside the egg and I will be going to hatch you today at any cost.'

Soon, his shock turned into curiousity as he became determined to hatch the egg at any cost by today itself.

'I think I should go to the other portals.'

Lucas thought about the number of evil spirit beast corpses lying at the two other portals and decided to move there as he was sure there would be a lot of corpses accumulated there.

"Orange-eared spirit lynx."

Lucas looked around and called the fastest lynx without any battle prowess, which rushed towards him in no time.

'Shadow clones, come out and take care of those rank 4 spirit beasts that will come at any time.'

Lucas didn't rush to the other portals directly; instead, he summoned his three shadow clones and ordered them to help the youngsters at the left portal.

Since it's been more than 20 minutes, Lucas knew that the rank 4 evil spirit beasts will be coming out at any time now. 

After that, he rode the orange eared spirit lynx to the other portals where he didn't stay much longer.

As soon as the egg finishes with its absorption, he would go to the right portal.

'Ding,

          Progress bar:- 5 percent filled.

'Ding,

          Progress bar:- 8 percent filled.

By the time he finished his trip to all three portals, the progress bar only increased to eight percent, making Lucas a little annoyed.

'I will let the corpses accumulate in front of all three portals and then let the egg absorb all of them in a single go.'

Lucas came to a conclusion as he directly kept the egg in the inventory.

The egg, of course, tried its best; however, it could not win against Lucas and could only stay in the inventory.

'Also, I feel the energy from the high ranked evil spirit beasts will help the progress bar more. So, it is better for more rank 4 evil spirit beasts to come out of the portals.'

Lucas looked at the right portal and he could see that rank 4 evil spirit beasts had already started coming out of the portal.

'Beck, Star lynx, elemental lynxes, Reece and Harper, there is a change in plans.'

Without any hesitation, he contacted the members of his main force and tweaked his plans a little.

'We are not going to kill the high-level rank 5 evil spirit beasts any time soon.'

Everyone who received the voice transmission from Lucas became alert and listened to Lucas' words; however, they were surprised with the sudden change in the plan where they have to not kill the high-level rank 5 evil spirit beasts right away.

'Also, we have to lure them away from their respective portals. Star lynx and elemental lynxes, mainly you three have to be careful because I am not going to boost your strength for some time.'

'Beck, Harper and Reece, you have to take care of the rank 5 evil spirit beasts as usual; however, since we are going to drag the fight for extra time, the chances of more low-level rank 5 evil spirit beasts to come out of the portals.'

'You will be taking care of them and I will help you from time to time too.'

'As for the rank 4 and below evil spirit beasts, the raging fire lynx and the bleeding slayer lynx will take care while the youngsters will take turns in killing the evil spirit beasts missed by them.'

Lucas continued to explain what everyone had to do with the sudden change in plans.

Since the youngsters were only lesser knights, lesser mages and lesser assassins, they have limited strength and stamina. So, Lucas switched them to the back lines whereas the Lynx squad which had yet to make a move would take care of the situation in the front lines.

'Understood, young master.'

'Understood, master.'       

Everyone nodded their heads without any hesitation because the more evil spirit beasts they kill the more benefits they would receive from the heavens.

Soon, the fight with the evil spirit beasts became intense as the youngsters started to feel pressured by the overwhelming army of the evil spirit beasts that were coming out of the portal, no matter how many they killed.

'Lynx squad, now, it is your turn to shine.'

With an order from Lucas, the lynxes jumped into the action.

The raging fire lynx rushed towards the left side of the portal alone whereas the bleeding slayer lynx took care of the right portal.

As for the remaining lynxes that were below rank 5, they rushed towards the main portal as a single group.

'Roar'

Raging fire lynx, it left behind a trail of burned evil spirit beasts as continuously rushed forwards and behind it, one of the elemental lynxes were watching with a calm look.

According to the orders, it had to make a move only when a high-level rank 5 evil spirit beasts came out of the portal.

A similar thing happened at the right portal, the bleeding slayer lynx was leaving behind the evil spirit beast corpses that had only a simple slash.

Another elemental lynx was watching over the right portal waiting for the high-level evil spirit beast to come out,

As for the main portal, a group of lynxes, along with Beck's tamed spirit beasts were rushing towards it clearing the evil spirit beasts like cutting the grass in the garden.

Of course, the winged white lion was not participating in the fight, in fact, there was no trace of the white lion in Silverstone town.

Lucas was also not standing idly as he used his level 2 [Infernal bomb] on a large number of rank 4 evil spirit beasts that were yet to completely come out of the portal.

'Ding,

          The host killed 200 rank 4 evil spirit beasts and gained 20000 sovereign points.

'Oh. 20000 sovereign points.'

This was the first time Lucas received so many sovereign points with a single attack. So, he was excited; however, when he saw how much magic power he expended for the spell, he shook his head.

Even though the cost for the level 2 advanced spell didn't change, the cost for using such a powerful advanced spell, emptied 1000 units of magic power in a single go.

'But still, if my magic sea is full, I can use this spell 14 times. So, it is not a big issue.'

Lucas said that to himself; however, he didn't use the spell again because he wanted to store them for rank 5 evil spirit beasts because he wanted to kill them with his tier 3 general knight and tier 3 general assassin strength.

'Roar'

Maybe it was finally time or it was because of Lucas' powerful spell, loud roars came out of the portal that Lucas used his spell earlier.

"Is it finally time for the rank 5 spirit beasts?"
