Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 245 - Shaking Hands

Unlike Benton she didn't know much about earth but she knew about the newbie camp.

From many of her sisters she had heard of it. As they themselves had once attended it.

'Things weren't supposed to go this way.' She thought as she stared at the dead body lying on the floor.

The newbie camp was supposed to be a joyous and peaceful event where people from both sides shook their hands and exchanged greetings of friendship. Indeed, to the Shizu who was brought up in hell, the newbie camp would appear as nothing but 'joyous' and 'peaceful'. Gozoto was doing his job pretty well after all.

But with the current show, the world around her seemed to collapse.

She glared at Benton with fury clearly written on her face.

Most of the newbies at this point were in their 50s. Some had reached 60s at best. But the same rule didn't apply to the second gens. The average amongst them was in the 80s while Benton himself was at his 90s. Someone like Shizu stood no chance against him. That was why Benton was willing to take the risk to ignore her completely.

Shizu, despite being a second gen, was on the weaker side. But that didn't mean she was going away without answers. Her vacation was destroyed. It was like asking for a refund for a bad service.

*Crackle*

Sparks flew across her as she glared at the shrugging Benton.

"Tell me why did you do it?"

"Stay out of my business." Benton claimed non chalatly never losing his cool.

The air between them got heavy. This was bad news for Gozoto. Benton said to 'stay out of his business' but Gozoto would lose his business if the representatives of renowned guild were to fight at the camp.

"Tsk, just when it was getting interesting." Gozoto felt the need to stop the drama.

Klautz nodded too. It was indeed escalating what it was supposed to be. It was supposed to be just a little warning to the newbies at the cost of a life.

But now it was turning to a war between two guilds.

"Shizu is acting stupid and reckless…," Klautz thought. "There was no point in losing cool here."

Had Gozoto not stepped at just the right time, Klautz would have stepped in instead. He could have risked getting into the limelight but he could not risk such a war. Being an acquiantance of the same would have indeed been Klautz's hidden card.

Gozoto took out his sword and stepped in front of Shizu. The sparks that had been raging till now suddenly subsided as the tall figure blocked the sunlight covering Shizu under the darkness of his shadow.

Shizu looked up in a pinch.

A subtle look mixed with annoyance and seriousness was adorned on Gozoto's face.

"Ms. Yukiho, your background must be a big shot. But this is my place! You must be prepared for what would happen if you disrespect me here,"  Gozoto's eyes glared at Shizu as he spoke.

There were a few unwritten rules for the camp but at the end of the day, it all boiled down to one major thing. That was Gozoto's own will.

And for him the death of a small punny mortal by the young master of his own guild was completely fine. At best it was a good show to please his starving eyes.

But Shizu stepping up for it was a big no no. Since that could create a lot of friction between the two guilds leading to him losing his job.

One must note that Gozoto was just an independent mercenary of great power. But even so he could not stand against the wills of influential figures like Shizu in the normal scenario, especially considering the backing she had.

'But in the camp, I am the boss.'

As long as Gozoto was running the camp he had the backing of Ronald which allowed him to do as he pleases. A second gen alone was no threat to him.

Klautz nodded as the things progressed as he wanted them to go. Under the presence of Gozoto, Shizu could only bite her lips and retract her ability that was about to activate.

"Anyway he is better than the others at least. Shouldn't I greet him?"

Klautz smirked as his body merged among the crowd. The shadow looming behind him suddenly disappeared as even the brightness of the sun seemed to have lost track of him.

'Akihiko told me to stay away from Colt Acherman didn't he?'

Klautz wasn't acting according to his whims nor was he fascinated by Benton's little show earlier.

Klautz had his own hidden agenda to move according to.

As his shadow moved through the masses no one noticed his movements. The crowd was endorsed in their own hustle bustle and whispering as they tried to make sense of the current situation. Alas, without the knowledge that KLautz had the only emotion they could feel was fear.

"What is happening here? Are they the ones we were told about?"

"Yeah, at the inauguration the spokesperson didn't warm us about them. Rather he spoke quite highly. I feel like I have been scammed."

"What should we do? They seem to be dangerous"

Whispering and mutterings kept resounding at the field as Klautz moved amongst them. The mutterings of the newbies was such a great chorus that it did the perfect job of hiding Klautz's presence.

KLautz moved with such silent steps that not even the guards knew of when he passed by.

Until…

A hand crept behind Benton as it held onto his shoulder causing him to jerk. He turned around only to be greeted with Klautz's smiling face. Of couse, to Benton he was an unknown man that he had never met.

Klautz extended his hand in a way of handshake.

"Hello, fancy meeting you."
