Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 241 - Plunderers

Benton had created quite a mark in history itself in Klautz's previous life. He was the one who in his older years had started a rebellion against allocating resources for the earthlings.

The war for resources was always an ongoing event in the world of hell. But never before had anyone been so daring and bold to claim the resources kept for the entirety of the earth borns.

"Now watch!"

Bento turned his attention to the black box that was placed beside him. His hands slipped in and took out a red hot tong indicating that the box was a furnace of sorts.

Benton smirked.

He lifted his feet and rubbed the tong against his prisoner's flesh instead.

*Sizzle*

"AHhhhhhhh!"

The sound of burning flesh and deathly screams resounded at the same time. The man wanted to roll around in the ground in pain but the bindings on his arm and his legs hardly made it possible. He could only shoot his eyes wide and scream in agony begging for mercy from his master.

"Kill me instead, please. AHHH!"

Death would have been much more pleasing to the man than the pain his body was experiencing in the moment. It would have been a quick release of all of his worries and his pain. But Benton was hardly so kind as to kill him.

Benton was no sadist. But if he were to kill him, wouldn't the pain he had gone through to prepare all of this beforehand would have gone to waste? The newbies must know their place and he was here to show it to them.

But unlike the other second gens he wasn't a fan of oppression them rather he had other hidden motives instead.

He still remembered the day his big brother had attended the newbie camp. His welcome was a warm one where he was able to win the hearts of many, eventually turning them into his followers.

But his and his brother's goals were vastly different.

When humanity began making their progress and started making huge sips for sail, new horizons and new ways to acquire resources opened up for them. But such new opportunities were brought at the cost of their loss of morality.

They plundered and colonized the foreign lands making them their own and turning the natives to live the lives of fugitives. When humans from two different cultures met in such a manner there was bound to be friction and that friction only escalated further and further with time.

There were only one option both sides had. Either to be looted or to loot the others themselves.

The 'plunderers' posed themselves as superior and downgraded the natives to establish their rule. In hell too, it was no different. For wherever the human race goes, their surroundings and style of living might change but their hearts would never change.

That didn't mean that such an event didn't have its own uniqueness in hell. Here the 'natives' were the ones who oppressed the 'outsiders' instead.

And why won't they? Unlike earth, the outsiders hadn't come to hell of their own accord. Neither they had the weapons nor the means to counter the 'natives'. They were forcefully summoned in the first place and they were totally clueless! Thus, they couldn't help but fall into their clutches in their un united state.

"What is he doing? Has he gone crazy?"

"I don't know. But it seems like this was the reason why he asked us to stay back."

"But… but what if they start creating problems for us?"

"Ha Ha, that's impossible. Do you even realize how much of a gap in strength us and the newbies have?"

"That is true too. But such a thing is unprecedented."

The second gen in the caravan began whispering amongst one another. They had been requested by Benton to stand by for a while.

When the young master from the Sun guild makes such a simple request, they can at least be courteous and grant it. After all, all they would have to do is chat a little longer. Not to mention that Benton was the star figure in this year's newbie drill.

But what happened next was beyond their expectations. Benton seemed to have put up quite a show that was unprecedented in the history of the newbie camps.

There was one unwritten rule for the newbie camp. The second gen needs to create a sugar coated welcome for the newbies.

Why?

Because gaining their trust means gaining more followers!

But the most important reason was that it was a culture followed since the beginning of the newbie camp. The second gen was bound by the shackles of such a culture.

One must note that humanity was as strong as it was today in the days the newbie camp was first established. As such there was a 'need' to sugar coat the words in the past.

"But in today's era, there is no need. We are strong enough to stand by ourselves." Benton whispered to himself.

Klautz smirked.

"Some things never change."

He shook his head.

Benton was the one who had started the revolt against the newbies. His claim was that 'resources' shouldn't be wasted on grooming the earthlings. But rather they should be used to groom the 'superior' hellsfolk instead.

His revolt was met with both backlash and support, as the 'native fanatics' and the 'earth borns' joined for and against him creating balance. But soon enough the balance had tipped to a side as more and more second gen joined his side.

These second gen weren't fanatics by any means. But they saw profit in such an endeavour. After all, the revolt succeeding would have meant more resources for them.

Benton's revolution had most of the powerful groups under his belt. Victory was all but assured for him. It was supposed to be a one sided massacre.
